Groups like the yoruba igbo and benin if contacted would probably spread their specific type of furnace that they used to make steel to to them trade iron goods ivory in exchange for stuff like peppers copper bronze crafts you'd probably see benin depiction of various Mesoamerican groups similar to their depictions of the Portuguese the pagans africans would probably start worshiping various Mesoamerican gods as a result of trade it would intresting to imagen what benin depiction of Mesoamerican gods would be like
From Nothing brought me here. Learning about African History was fun & enlightening. I know extremely little about America before Europeans arrived. I'll be sure to look at all of you prior videos for more information :)
I think that they would have some conflicts for each other but mostly they would get along sharing details and information with one another in various ideals and styles
Hello. Seeing the first video of yours. Funny how when you start watching a channel and forget why, this will be how I find yours. I really enjoyed this. Someone has to tell Amerindian history
I think the horse would have helped spread other crops and goods to places outside of Mesoamerica, a lot faster, and paper like amatł, but it would also expand the empires of Tawantinsuyu and Yexcan Tlahtolloyan to really far distances. It would probably also create ties or interaction between the two empires.
I would definitely want that since I'm working on a map right now for an "Ideal World" where I'm planning on liberating various minority peoples such as many of the American natives
@@vacatiolibertas "liberating minority people" wouldnt work as in most of the American continent the direct european descendants are actually the minority, this would only work in the US
Im too Interested on this, as it would be ovbious to think Mayans and Aztecs would have consolidated the strongest empires in the region and Mexico would be not as we see it today, with probably as many countries as we see in the European region and maybe just as many languages.
The indigenous peoples are a minority in many countries in the Americas. Not only the US Canada, Dominica, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and others have very small indigenous populations in proportion to their total populations. Not to mention that countrie slike Haiti, Bahamas or Uruguay don't have any native peoples left :(
There were far more civilizations that could've established strong empires in the region, yet everyone seems to only know the proverbial "Aztecs and Maya". Man, that duo makes a grest disservice to Mesoamerica
Another what if scenario is what if they made the discovery through the Pacific route, as in first contacting the nearest polynesian and just making they way to south east Asia by island hoping.
WUT no? Granted it is a eurocentric concept of the world but it still represents places Europeans had constant contact since antiquity. So that doesn't include the Americas.
I plan to do so in the future. I already have a list of projects to do for the next year, including the prospect of getting a Patreon account if possible, so I can accept them on demand :)
Really enjoyed this collab, well done both of you!
Glad you enjoyed it Ollie!
This is incredible thank you!

Glad you enjoyed the video! And yeah, Amerindian history definitely needs to be told :)

Given the point of divergence we had for this scenario, there wouldn't be any Excan Tlahtoyocan nor Tawantinsuyu to speak of :)
Could you please do a video on how the political map would look like in Central and South America if there was never colonization
I would definitely want that since I'm working on a map right now for an "Ideal World" where I'm planning on liberating various minority peoples such as many of the American natives

I wish I had a time machine to have this happen thereby stopping the ecological and humanitarian holocaust that was European colonisation.
Same
If you think it would have been better....
What are your thoughts on the Zapotec Maya Liberation Movement?
The what? Didn't you mean "Zapatista"?
And I prefer to keep my political opinions for myself :)
