When Liverpool were down to just nine men they had to pull out salah, that's not because of just the red card to jota. Nunez was not fully fit & I'm sure Trent too wasn't fully match fit. So the risk of unleashing Nunez was too risky with two red cards & a slight injury to Nunez will only aggravate the injury in a high intense defense oriented game. Hence they pulled Salah, where they just went with 5 at the back & 3 midfielders to defend & tbh it worked until that OG.
As soon as the game ended it looked like Liverpool are tje the ones that should be more optimistic. Tot had no solution for 70+ minutes and that comes to the quality of most of their players
Liverpool went down to 10 men and still scored on Spurs even if VAR got it wrong. Liverpool went down to 9 men and if it weren't for a cosmically cruel OG, Spurs would have settled for a draw. This match said more for Liverpool than it did for Spurs.
JJ better not jinx another liverpool player next round! Thanks for the tactical analysis, it is a very different task playing against 10 men and I can understand teams feeling frustrated, but it should definitely be an easier task than taking on liverpool with 11.

@@anuph.3806 I'm totally relaxed. You're the one who sounds triggered 😂 So you still think Tottenham are at risk of relegation and have no hope of finishing top 9? Curious.
Spurs are still learning Ange's system, so maybe it's not surprising that they didn't adjust well to what Liverpool was doing. There was also some world class goalkeeping from Allison that kept Liverpool in it.
Ange, an old Liverpool fan, 5:27 has learned well from copying Klopp's tactics hence his pressing game with Spurs. Imitation is truly the sincerest form of flattery.
One of the problems of Spurs’ own makings was the insistence to keep left-footed Kulusevski on the right, chopping back on his left & curling it into the keeper. Same on the other side with Richarlison. Rather than changing them over & getting to the bye-line, where Liverpool are turned toward their own goal. It’s no coincidence the winning goal came from right-footed Porro crossing it from closer to the bye-line. Matip was facing his own goal when the cross was fired in. Spurs do have FIVE wingers injured though so didn’t really have many options, apart from swapping sides. Great video guys. Cheers.
Alison was worth 2 players on Saturday so it adds up to 10 or 11 depending on the time of the game. Tottenham had the referee playing for them so that's 11 + 2. MATHS
Yes, we are still a bit loose in possession. Probably some overconfidence. We should be prepared to be tighter against teams like Liverpool and City, we are not at their level.
I was watching since Liverpool were 10 men… and I realized it only after I saw the red card on the score. That is how good they were at playin a man short
Arguably it looked more terrifying putting Salah there when they were down to 10 men, genuinely don't believe he fouled Bissouma he just outmuscled him and would have been in on goal.
I thought it was a foul at first, but the replays agree with you. Just outmuscled, although that sometimes gets called for a foul, and this time Spurs were bailed out. Not horrific call, but the wrong whistle seeing it back
Winning due to an last minute own goal with 13 players vs 9 shows that Tottneham arent as good as they think they are. Liverpool will cahllenge for the league. totenham will challenge for top 6.
I've seen plenty of accounts say "it's hard to play against 9 men." If that is the case, when Chelsea came back from 3-1 to draw 4-4 to 9 man Ajax, that must be one of the greatest comebacks of all time?
You're comparing 9-man Liverpool to Ajax 😂 Liverpool defenders are one of the best in the league, parking the bus like that is not easy play against even for City
To put it simply, if you had the choice to play against 10 or 11 men, you’d say 10 all day. Considering spurs played most the game with 10, large chunk with 9 and a bit vs 8, they 100% should have been better. That being said Liverpool were incredible considering they were shafted by the officials

As you said, it's early in Ange's reign and some of the players looked a little confused as to what to do and went vack to Conte's style. Liverpool also defended really well which didn't help. Would probably have helped if Perisic was fit too.
Finally a proper breakdown aha So many people see 9/10 men and think its easier. A low block is already tough, but a block with 6'4 VVD and 6'5 Matip/Konate shits tough. And Liverpool have shown they can win with 10 men already. Besides the controversy, we fought hard to get a win but we didnt have someone to comfortably get to the byline and cut a pass back to get through; albeit Kulu shouldve put more crosses over the top towards the end and uses Richy as a target man.
@@mikkelholm6896 I would argue that it's easier for us to play against 11 men, more space to make those runs behind the denfenders. But when Liverpool down to 9 men, to drill a 5-3-0 low block with the like of VVD, Matip, Konate, even city would struggle

@@bigrandomun9267 Definitely. We’ve had trouble breaking down Sheffield as well. But we’ve got a few players who are good against low blocks coming back like Gil and Brennan who play on the side of their stronger foot which should help in these situations rather than having inverted wingers.
Jon, would be great if you do a pre-game analysis, predict on how team will be set up, defend, attack and the outcome vs post-game analysis. That will be interesting.
With teams having limitless resources and nine player benches I really do think every PL team should have a giant lump of a striker who they can bring on in situations like these. Like a left hander out of the bullpen, just for specific situations.
Against van dyk, matip, konate & gomez they would need a 10 feet giant to score & don't forget ryan & szobo in the midfield who are also not short in the midfield.
I think the only mistake Klopp made was bringing on Gravenbach rather than Tsimikas, as a proper left back, he would have made Liverpool more difficult to score that winner!
100% Ange will get a lot of negativity later in the season after a poor run when competition is higher. Hope Spurs won’t buy into media noise because I think Ange is the perfect manager for the Spurs project. Lots of people praising them right now will flip. Give it 3 months
Ange’s teams never go backwards as the season progresses, if you’d watch all the teams he’s coached they become more ruthless after the initial adoption of his systems which on average takes about 6 months- if other teams can’t beat Spurs now there’s absolutely NO chance of them beating Spurs by Dec.
At 1:1 Spurs at least were successful in stopping another goal from Liverpool. It might have taken Spurs awhile to win it but, by taking less risk they weren't a goal down.

The way Spurs played was the correct way ..I was watching and Spurs was making a lot of false runs on the sides to draw one defender away .But Liverpool ignored them and just stuck to the bus at the center of the goal so all they could do is keep bombarding the gaol and hope tiredness causes a mistake which it did
No, Liverpool are an empirically better team. But, paraphrasing the Monopoly card, it was a case of "(VAR) error in your favour". As a Spurs fan, I'll still take the three points with a 'thank you very much' to VAR.
Nah. Klopp wanted 11 on the pitch. Failed to account for 'Angeball' controling the game. Klopp's team became frustrated and reckless - down to 10. As time wore on, his team became even more frustrated and reckless - down to 9. And then at the most pivotal moment, they buckled under the Spurs pressure. And you call that good management 😂
Some Spursy fans complaining that nobody critical about Liverpool parking the bus with 9 men against 11. Bur why everyone shafting Spursy when they park the bus under Mourinho or Conte in seasons past. Seriously, they were complaining about this. What a joke fanbase.
Goal fest by Liverpool. But don't worry, spurs will have to handle 12 man LIVERPOOL team at ANFIELD when they'll have to face one of the toughest 12th player, 'the ANFIELD crowd ' with goals written all over.
This game made me soo proud as a Liverpool supporter. We should have won if the VAR referees had eyes. The Liverpool players fought soo hard and this is not a day to be angry or sad. This is a day to be proud of our boys.
Nah. This is a day to be right pissed off. The players need to convert that anger into razor-sharp focus, decisiveness, and a rabid pack mentality in front of goal. No more of selfish stupid shot attempts to nowhere when a cross could lead to a bloody tap-in. Also, need to unshackle Endo and push Macca up into 8 slot.
Now we just need PGMOL to release the audio. I get that mistakes happen, but we need to make serious changes NOW, to make sure this doesn't happen again.
I believe there are major issues with this video. You cannot introduce how to play against 8 men and cut the video off like that. Completely unprofessional.

Liverpool won their last 2 games when they had a player sent off. Also it's plain to see how shallow the Spurs squad is, they don't really have a threat to bring off the bench to capitalize the 2 men advantage. They had Perisic, who would have been the perfect player to bring on to exploit the wide areas, but he's injured and no one else on the bench has that ability to unlock the defence.
Hence the two red cards & an ONSIDE goal given offside by two officials who were officiating 48 hours before the match at uae where city's owners are, that's some coincidence.

that offside goal was ridiculous and i’m a man u fan, that can happen and will happen to every team, imagine ur a team that fighting for relegation and this happens or even winning the league and u lose it by a point, they should really be held accountable and not just say sorry we made a mistake
VAR had already decided the PL title before now - Rodri's blatant handball in the box vs. Everton not being called gifted City two points which won them the league a couple games later
@@CamoDrakoand against wolves, they got a handball that came off a players back to gift them a point. Although we can’t assume they wouldn’t have won these games anyway, it’s still fair to say they were given an advantage.

It's the refs fault no doubt about it. Teams shouldn't be taken into account.
Matip denied Veliz a simple tap in.
Veliz was on the back post
“But what should they have done against 8 me|||” ::hard cut:: The Athletic may be home to…something…but Tifo is still home to good analysis and great video editing.😂
I lost it so good
When Liverpool were down to just nine men they had to pull out salah, that's not because of just the red card to jota.
A perfect microcosm of the average pool delusion
@@dannycullen1618
No any delusions at all
Sorry
Liverpool went down to 10 men and still scored on Spurs even if VAR got it wrong. Liverpool went down to 9 men and if it weren't for a cosmically cruel OG, Spurs would have settled for a draw. This match said more for Liverpool than it did for Spurs.
JJ better not jinx another liverpool player next round! Thanks for the tactical analysis, it is a very different task playing against 10 men and I can understand teams feeling frustrated, but it should definitely be an easier task than taking on liverpool with 11.
Son and maddison were carrying injuries.. johnson is injured too ..
But kulu cant cross with his right which is why porro proved he should be rw on this situation
Spot on.
Thing is there's no Kane richarlison is good arealy but he's not a harry Kane I remember last season kulu would put in a half decent ball Kane scores from
Once Kane left several people said that Tottenham were at risk of relegation and had no chance of finishing top 9. No one had faith in their other players, Ange, or the significant advantage of no Europe. Many people in uncritically accepted Conte's lazy narrative that none of last season was his own fault. Kulusevski, Son, Bissouma, Sarr, Porro, Richarlison, and even Davies... all useful players if used correctly.
you still struggled against 9 men and and with 10 men would have lost the game....relax pal.
@@anuph.3806 I'm totally relaxed. You're the one who sounds triggered 😂 So you still think Tottenham are at risk of relegation and have no hope of finishing top 9? Curious.
This was the best game I've watched so far this season as a liverpool fan.
Klopp too. He said he learnt more about his team from this match than from a win.
Liverpool defensive masterclass

Not horrific call, but the wrong whistle seeing it back
Also Porro used his right foot
VERY CLEAR EXPLANATIONS!LOVE THIS CHANNEL!🇭🇺🇭🇺🇭🇺
Maybe Spurs thought ‘well we could bother to score a perfectly legit goal, but the officials might just say ‘nah’ and chalk it off.
I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. A last minute own goal was the most soul crushing method.
Winning the league at White Hart Lane (x2) is worse.
12 men.... that's what Spurs needed
Winning due to an last minute own goal with 13 players vs 9 shows that Tottneham arent as good as they think they are. Liverpool will cahllenge for the league. totenham will challenge for top 6.

If that is the case, when Chelsea came back from 3-1 to draw 4-4 to 9 man Ajax, that must be one of the greatest comebacks of all time?
i mean its hard when you even got ref with them... its like 9 vs 12 + Bad VAR Decision...
I believe it's hard to play against 10 men at times.
But 9 men?
Come on that shouldn't be that hard

You're comparing 9-man Liverpool to Ajax 😂 Liverpool defenders are one of the best in the league, parking the bus like that is not easy play against even for City
@@SASMADBRUV7its easier to score against a 433 than a 360
To put it simply, if you had the choice to play against 10 or 11 men, you’d say 10 all day. Considering spurs played most the game with 10, large chunk with 9 and a bit vs 8, they 100% should have been better.
That being said Liverpool were incredible considering they were shafted by the officials

yeah, there is a little blip in the upper left corner. THAT is Solomon hah
I appreciate them not going for the obvious clickbaity video on the disallowed goal or the Jones red card. Very interesting video.
Believe it or not, I've been down with 2 red cards and 2 goals down on fifa in the first half and still won the match 4-2 against a friend what was using psg at Anfield. That's my greatest fifa comeback till today.
As you said, it's early in Ange's reign and some of the players looked a little confused as to what to do and went vack to Conte's style. Liverpool also defended really well which didn't help. Would probably have helped if Perisic was fit too.
Why isn’t this about how well Liverpool done against “16 men” when down to 9
Finally a proper breakdown aha
So many people see 9/10 men and think its easier.
Well no matter who you play against, playing 11v9 IS easier than playing 11v11 :D
@@mikkelholm6896 I would argue that it's easier for us to play against 11 men, more space to make those runs behind the denfenders. But when Liverpool down to 9 men, to drill a 5-3-0 low block with the like of VVD, Matip, Konate, even city would struggle
@@NhiNguyen-dh9nu I get that liverpool parked a compact bus.
But try and convince your manager to start next game 9v11..
How few liverpool players should be on the pitch for it not to be an "advantage" for them? 😅

Or why didn't tottenham just get 2 people sent off, after seeing how much better it was? 😅
the answer is yes, obviously. Liverpool for the last 20 minutes played a 5-3 formation
Tottenham should count themselves lucky Matip put the ball in the net because their fans should’ve been raging at how they couldn’t score against a team with no attack.
Probably should still be questioning the teams ability to score against all-defensive teams at home. West Ham will be a problem for them, looking at this match
@@bigrandomun9267 Definitely. We’ve had trouble breaking down Sheffield as well. But we’ve got a few players who are good against low blocks coming back like Gil and Brennan who play on the side of their stronger foot which should help in these situations rather than having inverted wingers.
0:26 cheers for that unreal insight JJ 😂
Jon, would be great if you do a pre-game analysis, predict on how team will be set up, defend, attack and the outcome vs post-game analysis. That will be interesting.
Guys that player was not Solomon it was young Veliz who was ready to pounce for his debut goal.
Thank you for doing a different type of video on this.
Ange’s teams never go backwards as the season progresses, if you’d watch all the teams he’s coached they become more ruthless after the initial adoption of his systems which on average takes about 6 months- if other teams can’t beat Spurs now there’s absolutely NO chance of them beating Spurs by Dec.
im scared alot of teams saw this and are now gonna put up a low-block now against tottenham
Brilliant end from JJ
At 1:1 Spurs at least were successful in stopping another goal from Liverpool. It might have taken Spurs awhile to win it but, by taking less risk they weren't a goal down.
00:30 to 00:35 had me in stitches lmao the video was one of the first things I thought of when he got sent off. Along with a lot of angry words
to all spurs fan that arguing here saying they play good and better than Liverpool, spurs will not finish the season in top 6. if spurs already struggling against 9 men yall not gonna win against villa newcastle brighton westham let alone mancity. Goodluck vs luton.
if liverpool went down to 8 men i think i would've just had a heart attack on the spot 😂
The way Spurs played was the correct way ..I was watching and Spurs was making a lot of false runs on the sides to draw one defender away .But Liverpool ignored them and just stuck to the bus at the center of the goal so all they could do is keep bombarding the gaol and hope tiredness causes a mistake which it did
Spurs are getting more grief for beating 9 man Liverpool than Newcastle did for losing to 10 man Liverpool lol
JJ BULL IS AMAZING
Yeah because it's always easy to win against 10 man Liverpool.
Mr. Bull brings up a really important question on how things would change if it were 8 and not 9
sonny and madders were playing injured and brenan is missing
Is that supposed to be an excuse for needing an own goal to win against 9 men?
No, Liverpool are an empirically better team. But, paraphrasing the Monopoly card, it was a case of "(VAR) error in your favour". As a Spurs fan, I'll still take the three points with a 'thank you very much' to VAR.
"Too much balance makes for a boring see-saw"
For some reason the way Jon says yes at 00:18 sounds like Peter O'Hanrahan Hanrahan 😂
Reverse the curse JJ!!
Liverpool with 10 played much better than Spurs with 12
Fifth Liverpool and seventh Tottenham video since the last Villa video!
Yes they have no depth and Klopp outclassed them at the end. The game should have been a draw at minimum if not for corruption.
Corruption? Who was it, the illuminati meeting at bilderberg, discussing covid, the new world order, Qanon, and how to do Liverpool with VAR? 😆🤡

That one about the chickel killed me
I believe there are major issues with this video. You cannot introduce how to play against 8 men and cut the video off like that. Completely unprofessional.
Keeping the offside to one side, both of those reds were highly contentious at best and BS at worst - the first being a slip on the ball which resulted in studs on an ankle, the other being two yellows after no contact
It's a weird situation where nothing can be done to right the wrongs

Liverpool with 10 men played better Football this season
Liverpool won their last 2 games when they had a player sent off. Also it's plain to see how shallow the Spurs squad is, they don't really have a threat to bring off the bench to capitalize the 2 men advantage. They had Perisic, who would have been the perfect player to bring on to exploit the wide areas, but he's injured and no one else on the bench has that ability to unlock the defence.
