yeah I am on time of day power too so leaving them on wasnt an option. had to restore SO much crap. livid over losing hundreds of hours of AMD rigs, schedules. lost -all AMD ocs that weren't active -lost all memvdd memevddci, SoC VDDmax and SoC Frq -lost active AMD OCs on AMD rigs that were on hive less than 3 months (had kawpow OCs on for alph..) -lost GPU autofan -lost watchdog -lost octo configs -lost nvidia dashboard OCs -lost tags -lost all schedules probably had 50 hours in to each of my 12x RDNA2 rigs with saved OCs for each card specifically for 9 algorithms. I started migrating to mmpOS from HiveOS 2 weeks ago in a meaningful way but this is unacceptable from a paid platform. will continue to wind down my 299 current hive GPUs and will only maintain my hive account to help customers with overclocks.
@@RedFoxCrypto its all good - luckily I migrated a lot of the stuff over in the last couple of weeks, and I ovalclocked most of those cards on their own within the last 6 months. starting fresh has its appeal, but I know you know the satisfaction of a rock stable 12 card AMD rig and what that takes :) haha multiply that by all of the algos under the sun so it can be swapped over to chase new projects. 4 hours of restoring customer rigs to stability yesterday, but we're fine. I feel for those miners that had cards die, cables burn up, or even have fire damage from this Hive issue however. Inconvenience for me, life threatening for others.
My rig was mining, overclocks stuck, (or i can only hope thats what happened as my hashrate to the pool stayed the same) when i was finally able to reaccess hiveos it reset my overclocks to base and i had to redo everything. It even loses flight sheets as im creating them/ after i've saved it initially.

I only had CPU mining rigs offline which obviously don't hold any OC but the bios. Hiveos is $hit in the past year, constant issues, most annoying is it's logging me out constantly, and if you had set up a complicated password and also 2FA it's just so much pain to do it like few times a day. Or you have flawless internet but I keep getting discord notifications about rig going offline even tho it's not.
something like this, they simply had to PUT ALL RIGS IN MAINTENANCE MODE FOR SAFETY!!!! i still have to access dozens of rigs ,and of course i will not ever be trusting hiveos again, specially because the way they approach this! its a big lack on responsibility on their side and this have to have some consequences, my entire platform is offline for damage assess, some gpus are dead, and i will need to redo and reconfigure everything, i am glad you have done a video regarding this, because the "silence" of some streamers on this situation is very strange!

They said to keep our rigs on, so I did. Woke up this morning and one rig was offline. When I checked on it the flight sheet was all jacked up and only 7 of 8 cards were registering. Tried everything I could this morning but it looks like my graphics card is now dead. I’m super happy that they killed my graphics card and I just have to eat it because, obviously, they aren’t going to be replacing people’s cards that were wrecked. Eff these guys.
This Hive OS data loss is the spot on example, WHY you should always build your rigs electricity stuff so that they can withstand the rigs running full blast without any optimization. There is real risk of overloading electric wires and other stuff right at the moment when those OC settings for the rigs and cards get lost, depending on how far the data loss expands.
@@takislontras4563 Not only rigs, but also the electric wires and fuseboxes and such. If the rigs run at 80% of the electricity capacity when optimized, and those rigs would suddenly go full blast, it can happen very easily the load on the electric wires start pushing above 100%, that can result overheating and fire. It probably is unlikely, but still, if Hive OS can make it happen due some error or data loss, better always be prepared.
Only thing strange that happened was my Octa minor. Case fans went to 100%. my AMD rig did a partial overclock reset. There were over clocks there, but not exactly what I had as my last known good settings.

My entire farm is still there. All flightsheets, overclocks, etc. At first, the browser didn't even show my farm, but when I opened the mobile app everything was there. It was just slow to load some things. Now, everything is back in the browser and fine. Miners never stopped mining. I'll wager the only data lost was anything after the database(s) last good checkpoint log. So, if you haven't made any changes in a while, chances are you will be ok. **UPDATE** - Correction. Overclocks were gone.....but then they all came back.
At about 10 AM local time, all my Octominer rigs went to fans at 100% all at once. All Octominer fan settings were lost on all rigs. Good the fans went to 100% so no overheating issues! But really, really loud. Also all AMD GPU 6000 series Mem Controller mV and Mem mV OC settings were lost across the board. Again, I was lucky - all AMD GPUs were mining ALPH at low power OCs. No perminant damage that I can see. I reset the Octo fan settings on all rigs and I am up and running.
This just shows how we are hive dependent. There must be alternatives. They destroyed my octominer external fans profile leading all my 32 octos to 100% cfm.. breaking my grow tents...
Backups? Seems like they never heard about it, otherwise jow the eff could worker data be lost entirely, it it's online? So they want us to keel workers online to pull current name, flightsheet and overclock settings back from them? Not good news for my wake-on-lan scheduled zilliqa workers, which I can't keep online all the time.
I didn't notice a thing and wasn't even aware of a problem. However, because of weather, I cycled my systems in the last 24 hours and did notice a couple oddities, for example, one rig didn't have fan % set and they all were running hot after cycling the rig. I didn't look closely for clocking issues, but will give it a cursory look. I am happy with HiveOS in general and have recently dumped a chunk of change into my account to run my rigs for a while, so I won't be looking for a replacement any time soon.
Took me a while to get my rigs off of Windows and use Hive, thanks to one of your videos, but I really enjoy the platform. It’s unfortunate that they are having such issues but I will continue to use it. I’m fortunate all my rigs are online 24/7 so by the time the dust finally settled I didn’t lose any settings except for having to adjust the fans on one of my x12’s
I didn't lose anything, but I did notice that my rigs which are mining nexellia, they're wattage was cut in half and I'm still at the same hash rate? So people might need to just check what their rigs are reporting as far as power usage, if it's correct or not. But you can look at your past videos and find your overclock settings, LOL.
Yep they stuffed my overclocks and had to re flash all my hard drives and add the rig.conf and even switched my cards to LHR as they’re Nvidia 3060s. Never hard that before.
thankfully I moved my amd rig off hive couple weeks ago, my two nvidia rigs stayed up but they did lose overclocks which caused the gpus that were on server psus to go down, its not that my rigs cant work on full power, its just been really warm today nearly 20 Celsius, so they probably went into thermal protection, I was sleeping during all of this

I'm not getting into Hive OS at all now. What I saw last night was that my ASICs were all renamed oddly. I can't get into Hive OS now to check other flight sheets. I saw Nicehash has some OS, but maybe that is just for their mining. Is there alternatives out there for this kind of remote management?
Lost all my OC templates. I cant imagine how many workhours are lost there. Some kind of compensation should be given, like a months free usage as an absolute minimum. I know sht happens, but we are paying for their service, as should they when were forced to work for them to restore whats lost.
it's been more than 36hrs and hiveos still couldn't recover. no saved oc templates. I'm lucky I always post my stable oc settings on respective algo's discord channel. I can recover from it. but not everyone is as lucky.
So from the research i've done i've found a few other OS for mining. The first is MinerstatOS which has its own auto switcher added to it which seems like it could be useful, but MinerOS also offers one and seems a bit more flexible. There is also RaveOS but that seems to be a dead project as it just doesnt get much love as anything other than a dead project.
To lose the OC settings is bad. Also all inactive workers gone. Al lot of invested time lost. It is inexcusable. Hive OS is still the best, but there are alternatives out there like: mineros, minerstat, mmpos, and raveos. I wish simple mining had a free option too, that would be preferable to the others.
one of my rigs got disconected from OS, but does mine, i get error that us name or password is wrong, did download cfg file but does not work, manually enter also doesnt work
I use the miner for overclocks so while I did lose all overclocks I had done in the past, it didn’t affect me as I don’t use them anymore. Also, all flight sheets are universal to my whole farm so even the one rig that has been down was not affected. So… my only concern was with the data loss and the length of time it was down.
All my oc settings are gone except for the algo they were on. Another example of why “the cloud” sucks. Your data and settings are on someone else’s stuff and when they screw up you are screwed and lost. When the world was on prem I controlled my backups and how/where my data lives. Yea this is just some settings but it happens all the time to cloud providers and saas stuff. Maybe hive needs to make an export button that will spit out a backup of all my settings that I can import later if it happens again.
Lost my OC settings for all algorithms (15+) that were not running (amd and nvidia cards). Lost access to my nvidia rigs. Lost OC VDDCI/MVDD/fans at my AMD rigs. The fans from the AMD went to 20% and the temperatures from the gpus reached quite high, luckily I was at home and I understood it quickly so I stopped everything immediately.
Losing overclocking profiles was brutal. Really bad for my AMD rigs. Most of my Nvidia overclocks were in my flightsheets so I lucked out there. 😅 As far as power draw goes, I'm super insane about accounting for max TDP on all my rigs. My farm is a little under 100 gpus tho, so not huge by any means.
Good example of why you may want to shut your rigs off when you leave town. Could have been a mess if you lost your overclock settings and had no way to shut them down remotely.
My rigs are all done. AMD rigs lost there tweaks, no big deal. 30xx rigs are fine because OCs are in my flightsheet. Over all took me 5 minutes to fix a couple issues. My only gripe is the auto fan... I hate auto fan and suddenly the overclocking fan settings are deprecated. So I am forced to use auto fan, which just sucks and causes errors and reboots if you have a bad fan especially... now my lazy ass has to change a few fans.... oh well
All the nvidia mined on, no issues whatsoever, but I did switch on auto fan once all the gpus were back. Currently they are doing the final implementation of the fix, so I won't touch the rigs for the day
Dont count your chickens yet. 😂. I was fine 6 hrs ago. Now i have no farm listed after hive crashed again like 2hrs ago. I might shut off my miners since i have to leave just incase.

I'm sure the staff has this concerns in mind but the real situation may beyond their control. Immediately when I can access the dashboard, I made screenshots what left on my OCs lol. Switched 80% GPU rigs to SM in Feb-March timeframe, so wasn't a big hit for me.
No issues. AMD cards only. Mined through the blackout. When Hive came back up the only thing missing were my fan settings. I had them on manual. Fans were running as though they were on autofan even though that was off. Most were around the 40% level since they are running cool still.
It's sad when something like this happens, and I hope that's everything. Though I can't imagine how time-consuming restoring those lost configs will be. I hope no "time bomb" has been planted. I'm sure the HiveOS tech team will not just settle for "config data loss" and will explore all possibilities.

silence is because some streamers have free and unlimited subscribion for hive rigs. They lost my respect.

Thanks for that, just checked my AMD rigs, found over clocks had applied but the fan settings had not. Memory on my 6600's was at 100degC.

I Lost One Rig. And all My Rig's In the Network Config File Was set to The Same Address! Had to Re Config Rig Address on Rig's.

Tags? Do you use tags? Well, you use tags for example for scheduling shutdowns to rigs or scheduling different things for them.

I'm still down, when i login it just shows 0 workers and 0 funds. I would bet they got hit with ransomware and had no backups

Autofan has definitely been hit or miss for me. Seem to have more issues on the AMD rigs with it.
All the nvidia mined on, no issues whatsoever, but I did switch on auto fan once all the gpus were back.
Currently they are doing the final implementation of the fix, so I won't touch the rigs for the day

3:18 I have same concerns that they were saying "leave the rigs online", I turned every thing with "soft" OC off (GPU rigs), leave CPU rigs on since their OC is set on MB. I'm sure the staff has this concerns in mind but the real situation may beyond their control. Immediately when I can access the dashboard, I made screenshots what left on my OCs lol. Switched 80% GPU rigs to SM in Feb-March timeframe, so wasn't a big hit for me.
No issues. AMD cards only. Mined through the blackout. When Hive came back up the only thing missing were my fan settings. I had them on manual. Fans were running as though they were on autofan even though that was off. Most were around the 40% level since they are running cool still.
It's sad when something like this happens, and I hope that's everything. Though I can't imagine how time-consuming restoring those lost configs will be. I hope no "time bomb" has been planted. I'm sure the HiveOS tech team will not just settle for "config data loss" and will explore all possibilities.

Yes all my OC’s are gone and they resurrected old rigs that don’t exist anymore.
