An explanation for Formal Sociology - Formal Sociology is a branch of sociology concerned with the modes of recurrent social relationships that are conceived to exist in any type of human association. Simmel was more focused on forms of social interactions rather than content. So that he called as father of formal sociology. Simmel argued that social interactions have various forms. He carried out studies of such formal relationships as cooperation, competition, and superordinate relationships, and so forth.
