Millennium Clock in the National Museum of Scotland

Four established masters were involved in the making of the clock tower: Eduard Bersudsky, Tim Stead, Annica Sandström, and Jürgen Tübbecke. The coordination of the project was under the powerful and creative dynamism of Tatiana Jakovskaya.

*This used to make me so entranced as a child when I used to go watch it, I always felt the organ music playing added to the sadness of the artwork portrayed. The nod to slavery within the sculptures turning, 'powering' the clock used to haunt me slightly. The clock still holds the same feeling even now*

I am spanish I was in Edimburgh in 2001 studying english at Basil Paterson School. And I remember going almost everyday to Watch the Millenium Clock!!! I was amazed!

This thing scared the pants off me as a kid. Whenever I heard the organ music playing I'd run into the next room so I didn't have to see all the wee demons come to life.

The white figures near the top represent Hunger, Madness, Grief, Forced Labor, The Martyr, The Old Clown, Pandora’s Box, The Holocaust, The Intellectual, The War Invalid, War Camps, and The Hermit.

This clock is just a gimmick. It shouldn't be in the museum. The organ music is lovely, but it isn't being performed by the clock: it's just a recording.
