Gods showered flowers at his birth. At the age of his 05 years young Vikramaditya went to penance for 12 years.
Bethala or Vetala became his assistans as he sacrificed a trecherous mantrika to Godess Mahakali.
He recieved a throne from Indra deva as he settled a dispute between Apsara (celestial nymph) Rambha and Apsara (celestial nymph) Urvashi.
In his judgement Apsara (celestial nymph) Urvashi's dance was superior to Apsara (celestial nymph) Rambha. Because Apsara (celestial nymph) Rambha lost his confidence and her garland flower became pale as she worried about victory while dancing.
He recieved boon that he will rule the kingdom for 100 years & his descendents would rule the kingdom for 1,000 years.
His grand son was King Shalivahana of Paithan (Prastithan) who etablished Shalivahana Samvant in A.D. 78.
Vikramaditya performed a Yagnya in Karnataka during Navaratri attended by all gods bexcept Moon god (Chandra Dev). Hence he went to He went to Moon World (Chandra Loka) and asked for the reason. The Moon god (Chandra Dev) replied that he can't came to earth because it is Kaliyuga.
Greatness:-
The Vikramaditya Samvant is attributed to him. Many Indian Kings use title "Vikramaditya" as ideal. Vetala Pachchisi and Sinhasana Dwathrimshatrhi are very popular story for Vikramaditya.
King Vikramaditya (BCE 102 - A.D. 15), King Bhoja (A.D. 1018 - A.D. 1085), King Shalivahana (A.D. 38 - A.D. 108) are mensioned in Bhavishya Purana.
Birth of Vikramaditya:-
Vikramaditya was second son of Gandharvsena, son of Lord Indra. Indra cursed Gandharvsena to take birth as a donkey because he had obstructes an apsara "Mohini" while she was on her way to meet God Shiva on Mount Kailash.
Lord Indra offered to restore Gandharva Sena to his human state if he married a princess. Gandharvasena in a form of a donkey sent a proposal to the King of Dhara through apotter.
The King hesitated, but he agreed on one condition that Gandharva Sena had to construct a Bronze wall arround his Kingdom with a silver gate inside within a single night.
Gandharvasena succeed to complete task with the assist of God Vishwa Karma.
The princess agreed to marry Gandharvasena on the condition that he would return to Indra Loka only after the death, as he was immortal.
Gandharvasena, through his marriage with a princess had three sons.
