Let's get Ty behind the wheel!!! James has Ruby, George has the Blazer..Ty deserves to pilot this beast after all the hard work he's put in on the fleet!
They need guys at the shop to get work done. Not everyone in the race program can be a racer.
Yes!
TY is one of the best fabricators I've ever seen in my life hands down. I totally agree he should drive the Mustang!
I think there was a video where he said he didn’t want to race.
I can't wait til they show ty's turbo coyote swapped ranger, it's a bad little unit
My grandfather was Bob Glidden. He helped develop this style of transmission way way back in the day. Used it about halfway through the season. Ran incredibly well, and other drivers petitioned. There was a rulebook change, it was outlawed. Then with the next seasons rulebook updates, almost every Pro Stock class driver had one in the car. Was just telling my wife and I's oldest about how his papaw is a part of racing history. Not gonna lie, seeing this brought back memories of him and made me tear up a bit today. Thank you for everything yall!
Your grandfather is a legend! 👌
Are you Billy's son, then?
@@davelowets yes he is :) and Rusty is my father. Don't really talk to that side of the family much since papaw passed away. But thankfully we have a lot of stuff online of him to show our kids when they get older. Our oldest lit up his world for about 6 months before he passed. Even though it was difficult times I don't know that I ever saw him smile that hard in my entire life before that little guy came along lol
@@bglidden88 That's awesome that Bob got to see his grandson, and that he was so thrilled about it! I've watched your grandfather, father, and uncle's racing careers for decades, and they were a big inspiration for me to get into the sport myself. I'm a big nobody, and have just been a local IHRA bracket racer forever, but I enjoy it immensely it and have had so many good memories over the years doing it. Are you involved with the sport much?
@@bglidden88 Condolences also, 😞
I know how hard it is..
Watching the interviews with Bob on youtube here in the "Legends" series of videos always puts a smile on my face. There sure is a bunch of stuff on the web so your kids can easily learn about your grandfather's accomplishments, and about who he was. I'm sure they'll be proud of him. 🍻
@@davelowets the fact that it makes you happy and the good memories are all that matter. I'm not involved in racing. I wish I was, but just missed the window by the time I was old enough and he was retired from racing. It'd be a dream come true to be like my grandfather. He is and always will be my hero. But I just don't know that it's in the cards for me unfortunately. And I really don't want to be a coattails kid and use the family name to get somewhere. So it is what it is for now. Keep racing if you have the funds and the ability to get in and out of the car 😆 I drift a little but that's about all i got anymore these days
It's amazing how a simple transmission placed on a floor can make grown men revert back to eight year old's!
I thought the same! Brought me back, for sure!
Better than not having a hobby and focusing too much on work.
The shifter can be mounted on any section you want. Depending on your seating position.
This needs to get bumped up the list.
PEOPLE PLEASE LIKE OPs COMMENT!!!
.
its like 50/50 if these guys know that or not
🌮
It's fine, the Giraffe drives from the back seat anyway.
yessir glad somebody said it
'Fits like a glove'
'on a horse'
George always has me crying, best addition to the channel aside from ty!
And it’s a mustang 🤣
I was coming down here to make this exact comment haha George is a legend.
George and james are my favorite on camera
James is the o.g. original though.....
George is the greatest, he seems like he’d be cool to have a few cold snacks with while just shooting the $hit.
If you haven't already, you may want to talk to others who run these on Drag and Drives (Neil Torbett runs one in Hot Rod Drag Week). They tend to want to evacuate the fluid out of the trans during the drive portion, think washing machine effect. It took him a while to get his venting/catch can situation correct to keep the trans happy when cruising.
Wait they drive them dry with no cooling or librication?
Or am I missing what fluid you mean?
Dry sump for the trans?
that gearbox tickles the part of my brain that loves flipping levers and pressing buttons, love it!
here's a little personalisation idea (for some point where you're not rushing before an event): replace the ball ends with pool balls that have the numbers of the gears, I think that would look sick!
this is a fantastic idea
That would look so nice
That’s a great idea!
I will 5th this idea
Vote this up for sure!
You can mount the shifter anywhere on the case and move the rods around appropriately, there should be two holes in each handle for push/pull
I love how all of the guys were literally sitting in the floor playing with their toys😂 it’s true we stay the same but our toys just get bigger!
🤣🤣🤣🤣😎
Then "ego" goes smaller....toys get bigger and powerful....
When I first watched cleetus put turbo whistles in his C7, I would’ve never imagined life could’ve got this spectacular for him. Keep up the hard work and all the great content. You guys have really been killing it.
The Lenco brought me from moderately interested to mega-stoked on this build, can't wait to see it ripping down the track!
nothing makes me more productive during a 20 hr day than a solid nap, Ty. The fact that you're willing to nap to get the job done just goes to show how actually fired up you are brother. I love this race team! LET'S GO!
Idk why a Power Nap feels better than night sleep.
@@veejay12079315 minute naps got me feelin like I just snorted a line
“I brought a sleeping bag… for a nap.”
Ty is such a trooper, and with a smile! Much respect bro!
I absolutely love the dedication the whole team has. And, I’m sure you do too Cleetus. I can tell by the way you treat your guys. I sure wish I had someone to count on like that. Sooo jealous, but happy for your pack at the same time!👍🏻👍🏻
They need to get ty a camper to nap in.
@@getchasome6230 They have the toter just feet away....
@@cbradley4466 I was thinking the same thing. Maybe he said sleeping bag just to be sarcastic
Haha that is going to be absolutely nuts! Godzilla twin turbski powered foxbody through a Bruno Lenco with a TSR rear end. You guys are going above and beyond for this build! McFlurry is going to be so sick to watch running in drag and drives!
Bet it doesn't make it past sick week...hahahaha!
You sound miserable
If it survives day one. Lenco's are not street transmissions. They run super hot after a few minutes.
@@AB-80X we’ll see when they complete the build.
@@AB-80X don't think they know that considering how small the transcooler is...
Lenco celebrates over forty-five years of the engineering and manufacturing of the most successful drag racing transmissions ever built. Lenco, the all time champion and undisputed leader in the drag racing transmissions.
Get Ty to drive it man , he deserves it for he's hard work 💪
push this comment to the top. Make this Ty's car!
I think Zack and Tye should co-drive. I think Zack is at the point where he deserves to get to play too!
Ty isn't qualified to drive it. He needs his NHRA license.
Cleetus already said he’s not driving this car. Check the comments ya chumps.
read cleet's comment on on greg's comment. ty doesnt have his license atm
Ty better have about a 5k bonus coming his way if he can get this thing together in time for Sick Week! Looks awesome, keep up the good work!
I'm pretty sure what he's actually gonna need after this is a stiff drink and few weeks of counseling
I love how out there this build has snowballed into compared to what you guys usually do. I remember seeing the facebook post about the Lenco, didn't think it was actually gonna happen.
Its been so fun watching garrett grow over the years. He is still just and fun and genuine but hes really developed into a leader that you can tell folks trust and like.
“Fits like a glove”
George: on a horse 😭😭
And it’s a mustang 🤣
Larry Larson had a 5 speed Lenco for 10 + years with thousands of street miles on it in his Nova.. Did normal sprag and clutch maintenance... "Thanks to the ability to control the shift by slowly engaging the levers, Larry’s Nova shifted smooth and easy...no harsh neck snapping shifts while cruising down the street, unless you want them." There is a video of him on the Vegas strip with it. He now runs the 400.
McFlurry is quickly becoming my favorite of the new cars! A Bruno/Lenco with a Godzilla and twin choochoos!! So dang pumped to see it run!!
Put a "Cinco de Lenco" decal on the back glass lol love the passion you guys have for this channel and what you do!
And personalized plates that say “CINCO”
8:34 I like how George is the only one concerned about breaking it b4 it even gets put in the car 😂
I think I speak for everyone here when I say this.... we need longer videos!!!!
Big factz bcuz its like they be getn shorter n shorter by the day lol. N then he just leave us hanging witout even let us see y'all do anything to Mcflurry SMH. Shiiiii sucks as* when they leave us wondering like this
Not too long a wait 'til the Month of Freedom. We can make it.
Personally I prefer shorter videos more often but maybe that’s just me
@@Renee_R343 yeah I mean they give us the month of freedom and they are working super hard to get many cars prepped for the race. Maybe when the racing is started, there will be longer videos. I dont know about this, but having a dedicated editor and video man would definatly add to the length and frequency of the videos, but that would also put a good dent in the yearly spending budget and im not even sure enough happens day to day every day in the year to make a 20+ min video 5-6 times a week. Especially if they are waiting on parts or something. I think longer videos could put too much strain on the people to do it constantly and I dont think there is enough content to justify an extra person on the team to just do video.
Agreeeee
Ty deserves a gigantic bonus if he pulls this off for you.
it's called overtime .. he's gonna need a ton of coffee and blow to get this finished in time .. luckily in FL there is plenty of both
@@scottbroyles2114 nah get em a 24 pack and a box of 5 hour energy and shitll be done by sunrise how we do round it here 😂
Well I guess they have time to spare. They had time to test Mullet at Bradenton today.
Five shift levers? True! I thought the thumbnail for this video was photo-shopped click-bait until he opened up the box. I should have never doubted Cleetus. He's not the type who would stoop to a such a gimmick to get views.
Can't wait to see this in action!
The Lenco has definitely made this exciting build even more exciting. I can't wait to see this car in action.
Love the fact that even your fox build will be unique. Soo freakin cool!
Unique is a major understatement at this point.
I have had a Lenco 5 Speed for many years, since 1994. It both reliable and strong. It had been used for many years in Pro Stock. Originally had shifters like you have. Later the evolved a CO2 pressurized shifter act by a push button mounted on a tree like affaire. The were replaced by the current G-Force and Liberty style used today.
These guys sitting on the floor going through the gears cracks me up! 😂😂😂 remind me of when I was a kid sitting in a laundry basket with acting like a drag racer!
Ok, just letting you know, if you guys get this done in time for sick week, it will be nothing short of miraculous....go Tye!
Old Cleeter said chances making it are 50/50 before the parts arrived. Totally agree that now they are more zero to none.
Been following the channel since the 3000hp Camaro days. Don’t ever change, don’t go mild and keep it wild. McFlurry epitomizes everything this channel was created on.
HELL YEAH BROTHER!!
I remember seeing cars at the track and on video with these style transmissions. It seems like a really elegant old school way to go about it. I can't wait to see how it all works out in the end.
Mcflurry just hit a whole new level of performance and especially excitement for you guys . Enjoy brotha's
I bought my first Lenco in 1981 back when my friend and I worked at Strange Engineering in Evanston to put in our 67 Chevelle Green & Greedy for bracket racing. The owner Bob Stange got us a deal on it at the time, I paid 3750.00 .
Cleet gunna build himself a funny car soon. A natural progression after getting a unit like this.
Well I don’t think they’ll be able to make it work in this rig with the current wheelbase so we’ll see

I ain't never really paid attention to Lenko shift linkages, but looks to me like maybe the levers/bracket can go up front, with the rods flipped toward the back, putting the levers at the driver's knee. Yeah?
Hands down best build thus far. This car will be a monster.
*Just when we thought Cleeter wasn't totally nuts.... he gets a Lenco. WTF? LOL*
Mans off his rocker lmao
@@chemical_35 Nah. He's testing how hot trans fluid can run. He's in for a surprise.
This car is going to be an absolute trainwreck, trying to street drive a lenco is not gonna work how they think it will
Why not? Way nicer than a dog box or alike.
@@David-xl8zf because the trans is going to overheat every few miles, great for a trailered strip car but horrible for a drag and drive car, you can't run a trans cooler on one of these, their cooler is only going to work on the fluid for the converter in the bruno
That transmission better be indestructible for all that down to the wire wait time!!! lol
Time to find the safest driver in the fleet to keep it nice for a few months before ol cleet blows it up XD.
I give it 4 passes. 💣💣
There a strong Trans, they were used in Pro Stock car's.
The motor will go before that transmission does. Fairly certain that stock plastic intake on the godzilla is going to be the first casualty.
The reverser units are fragile, and they don't like being driven on the street because they get too hot and there is no way to run a trans cooler on them.
Y'all sitting on the floor playing with the Lenco looking like you were kids again had me laughing so damn hard I was crying!! 🤣 Every time I watch your content I catch myself smiling from ear to ear!! I knew this Mustang build was gonna be AMAZEBALLS!!!

I bet Jackstand will destroy it in the first day :D
At the end of George's imaginary Lenco pass it sounded like he was rippin down the track in a 4 banger. Lmao you guys are a blast to watch!
Bout dang time Lenco entered the chat. I'm loving this!!
Edit: Also people do make forward offset shifter mounts for these that can give you about 6 inches.
Have you ever driven a Lenco on a long drive? It'll be a challenge to put it mildly. I wonder if he even told them what he was doing with it. The guys at Lenco usually balk as soon as you say street, unless it's their little street specific trans which this is not. They are meant to run in setups where trans fluid temps never becomes a factor.
@@AB-80X all true. One of two outcomes - they will either show people it can be done, or why it shouldn't. I see nothing wrong with screwing around with the idea as long as it's all done safely.
@AB-80X they sell a street lenco, I'm guessing this is it.
@@KPSchleyer Their street Lenco is only rated for 1200 HP. I'm guessing McFlurry will make way more than that.
@@AB-80X They can just run a huge trans cooler, or two or three. Or an air to water one as well LOL

I was lost in Warsaw for about 3 hours, could not find the road I needed , pre-gps, and didn’t speak the language or find any English speaking folks who knew the route I needed. After 3 hours I finally found someone who could help me. He said turn right here, I had been one street away for most of those 3 hours. Also got two tickets while passing through, I never paid a ticket on the side of the road before directly to the cop. Is that normal or just for non residents?
@@somenygaard could be a couple of things. That is the way it is done in countries with corruption. The cop will just pocket the money. Also, maybe because you were a foreigner, they wanted it right away, because you could just leave and not pay.
I have experience with this in Thailand. The cops there are notoriously corrupt. If you get in trouble, you offer a bribe quickly to the first officer, to get out of whatever jam you are in. You do not want to be arrested and go to the jail, because then there are a lot more people involved, and a lot more in the way of bribe. Also, the officers there have to pay bribes to become a police officer. Because it is such a money making job, you have to pay big money to become an officer. But you get it back in your bribes that you collect. The lower officers are then expected to kick up a portion of the bribes they collect to their command staff. Kind of works its way all the way up the chain.
You will see cops driving new Mercedes when they have a job that is supposed to pay
Can’t wait to see what Master Ty has up his sleeve. Super sick set up. McFlurry is gonna be a beast!
I am so excited to see that thing in action. This will be by far the best build imo.

Cleetus, y'all need to get a hold of Lenco. I believe they make a shifter assembly that mounts halfway up the transmission.
They gonna need a 6” driveshaft
All the better....
Hey cleetus, can we get more assembly videos of the different cars? No matter how boring it might seem I’m sure a bunch of us would watch it
The variety of videos on his channel is what makes it great. If it was just drag races, video after video, not sure I would watch as often. But when you see the progression from a shell of a car, being built up, them testing, and the racing, you are invested in the car and having it run well. Then throw in all the other cool stuff like the RC, the tank, the jet boats, it makes for a fun watch. Sill would like to see a video of his helicopter. Not sure why he kind of keeps that away from the channel, except for a small part of it when they had the hurricane and were searching for people.
@@jiminauburn5073pretty sure it’s because he needs a commercial license because the videos make money and if the helicopter is the content he is then making money with it. I could be wrong but that’s just my guess.
The variety is great, and I hope he keeps doing it, but I’d like to see more than just updates on stuff and see the process, like I’m loving the McFlurry content because we see how everything is going together. But with other cars it seems like one vid it’s a non rolling chassis and the next it has a motor in it lol
Nothing like rowing a Lenco at WOT, planetary transmissions are incredibly stout. Had a 1200 series in my '57 210 back in the day and it put a grin on my face every time I got in the car.
Lets goooooo! Can’t wait to see this rip on Sick Week
Love that your always doing it differently and pushing the limits. You can make it fit!!!
Automatic manual is very handy, my car has a 5 speed sequential manual that shifts on paddle shift with no clutch pedal. It does have a clutch but it's actuated by a solenoid when I shift gears. The great part is when I'm in traffic or in a lazy mood I can just hit a button and it will switch from manual to auto.
Saw the transmission on instagram and it looks straight outta a space ship
Imagine living a life with everyone so happy all the time watching this channel is like being in the afterlife .
thank you lord I have been after you to get a big boy transmission for 3 years and you finally got one . trust me once you get used to it you will love it you can just run 2 units and the reverser or 3 or all 5 it's the make your own ratio transmission . it does depend on what ratio the box's you got are but there easy to change and they will hold tons of power
Them sitting on the floor rolling thru gears was hilarious 😂 the vibes tho

Early '90s drove MDOT PU thru G.R., hit windshear got wanked exiting downdraft by GRR, & so violent squashed tires to rims w/dbl legal load & increased speed form 55 to 85MPH so unloading tires made truck leap up! Upon exit, nice sky but had stationary NWA MD-82 at altitude on approach. Driver Capt Insano shot up thru window azz on sill, rt hand on wheel, lt hand pointing up at Pilot, swerving edge-to-edge 38' @85MPH on I-96. Pilot went full gas/flaps, gear up, nose slight down, & disappeared straight down into woods in flat plummet at 480MPH (term veloc 200)+(dndraft veloc 280)=no survivors...except huge plume of smoke was exhaust!! Liner slowly rose from woods going N, but turned E towards Lansing hanngin' U-ey to W trolling I-96 for orange pickup. He spotted quarry, gently wagggled wings & ran paper back & forth on side window to say thanx! i.e. Gentleman Pilot? MDOT PU put beacons on & waved back w/"You're Welcome"! Pilot in TCA, but could get no clearances as mount hurt as, lost radio antennas, no COM w/Cabin, wingspar 5 breaks, tin stretched to max, wings drooping, so gave self-clearances for approach, land, taxi, park at Gate, & all w/1st Ofcr screaming at top of lungs as knew he was dead. All Cabin Crew injured, but finally Company & Medical folks approached evacing injured, then ushering passengers & 1st Ofcr to safety. That left Pilot alone but then bad news began. While pulling oak limbs from belly Pilot arrested & cuffed by GRPD for Tampering w/Evidence, Leaving Scene, and Joyriding Plane. Investigation went straight downhill just like the Liner. Pilot told NTSB above explanation, and they said, "That's easy...Physically Impossible...Pilot Error!!", & so it was as NTSB Know-It-Alls jumped on plane to D.C. w/real Pilot! Hiccup in their procedure was NOV '96 soon after offending Pilot retrained, passed tests, returned to Flight Staus, & entered Pilots' Lounge at TPA...ya heard of Florida right?? His 1st Ofcr conned him into teaching SWA pair of buddies about windshear, so the four sat at table across from THE MDOT DRIVER!!! What are the odds right?? Pilot began, but hesitated at emergency actions, as just plain couldn't remember! I added missing info, but that lit Pilot's candle!! He jumped up, glowered over my table, and said, "So how in the hell would you know that?" I handed him MDOT ID sayin', "I'm the ahole highway worker in the orange PU you just mentioned". Pilot froze, hesitated, then said, "I've been looking for you". Poor Dude had to admit me & MDOT PU didn't exist for re-instatement, as was told that was a fact. NTSB Investigation rigged as gave NWS paper saying windshear/downdraft not possible at incident time & location...and said, "Here sign it", then gave MDOT paper saying no Dept equipment anywhere near GRR at time of Incident...then said, "Here sign it". Pilot plopped me down in seat at their table, entire Incident discussed, and I printed it all down on dinner napkin. Captain & Missus hard pressed as w/o unemployment comp, no pay check, and no prospects, they dug deep into savings for re-training on every type NW an international airline flew! Pilot said, "Missus is really gonna like her take out box with napkin in it!!" Spring '97 NTSB Investigator phoned from MDOT Deputy Director's Office to confirm napkin as had just confirmed travel log & time sheets. He said NTSB Director really pissed when found out witnesses pressured, nothing really checked, then shouted "Pilot Error" and original crew then jumped on plane back to D.C. He was even more pissed when found out this was procedure as usual. In reprisal, he had all called to NTSB administration building. During morning session in Auditorium, Director had "The Napkin" positioned in front display case. Meeting broke for lunch, but all of attendees were Investigators so still crowded around Napkin when afternoon session was to begin. Trainers unable to get attendees to return, Director delighted at his deception as found out it was Investigator's Trainers teaching improper "Short Cuts" to conclude investigations without identifying true cause. Anyways, short version is 156 people roamin' the Globe today that had no right to it, without somebody sitting in an uncomfortable seat, somewhat like your new racer, but not in the trunk of course as neither PU nor Plane had trunk!!!
Go with the air shift pods. They are adjustable as to how hard it shifts as well.

On this week of a Cleetus McFarland, Cleetus makes another questionable choice and the McFarland race team bails him out once again. Tune in next episode where we show you in 5x speed how Ty saves the day!
Get this man his script writing paycheck now.
Tye and Zack deserve a race car but someone has to be the one to keep everything together. Zack and tye both do a great job.
This channel gets better and better man. This video had me rolling lmao 🤣
Each episode showcases items more than my paycheck... For the the entire month! Glad I get to experience it here otherwise I'd never know.
Hey, you could have this stuff sponsored to you just like thsm if you had a channel you wanted to sell.
You should have added the converter and Bruno Drive, and then installed it, then installed the Lenco. Lol, Freight train drive train. You need to hire John Doc's boy Matt through the setup and tuning process for a collaboration vid and setup process. He knows the system by now.
You both would have made out and your learning process would be shortened, because that Lenco is longer than all your Johnsons put together end to end, but your webos' are big. LMAO watching you installing an 8 ft long engine/Trans combo at one time on a simple Harbor light engine crane. Too funny brothers, classic Cleetus funny.
Dang dude your drive shaft is gonna be like a C4 axle shaft! LMFAO
I think we all agree that Ty needs to drive McFlurry! He deserves his own car
I've been gone for a while. To come back and see a Foxbody makes me over the moon excited!!!! Let's GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
