Let me know who you think the Top 5 should be at this year's NHL entry draft in Las Vegas!
WHO DO YOU HAVE GOING TOP 5???
1. San Jose
2. Chicago
3. Anaheim
4. Columbus
5. Montreal
Anaheim is going forward. D is not a need. They are picking up a veteran top 4 RD and are log jammed on the left side. They’ll look to build around a protectable core of Luneau, Mintyukov and Zellweger. Up front they have an opportunity to get deeper and hedge against uncertainty with Zegras. They also are looking to bolster specifically their right side but will take best available (highly debatable) if they decide the fit is there. I honestly think they are looking at Demidov (Verbeek has visited him in person), Lindstrom (100% and Verbeek player but runs into a congested C/Lw group. But if Zegras is getting moved?) Catton (Ducks prioritize high Hockey IQ and need goal scoring… pay close attention to and have had much success in the WHL). They have 8 names so I can see a few others in the debate including Levshunov and Parekh but I think the forward pick makes more sense for their long term potential being that they can protect a core of 7 forwards with expansion drafts coming and can really improve their depth up front with the 3OA.
@@CouldntBeFowler Like this! Any chance they trade the pick? I could see some trades happening in this draft.
you should do another mock but include trades
@@Z0raPlus That's a tough one! Only rumour so far is Ottawa and Flyers may swap spots.
@@Z0raPlus That's a tough one! But rumors are possible trade between Ottawa and Philadelphia.
I would love for Montreal to pick up Tij. And you are the only one that mentioned that he was weeks away from waiting for next year. He is so young.
Good point. I wouldn't be mad with Tij. I'd still say my preference if available with 5th overall pick would be
Demidov,
Lindstrom,
Tij,
Sennecke,
Catton
Buim
Anyone of those seem to have a chance at making an impact for the Habs
If Montreal has nothing left for em I’d take Berkly Catton because we missed out on Cooley and Smith. But I have a feeling we will take Iginla or Sennecke.
They aren't missing out on Cooley. When playoffs hit they will need slaf. Pts wise Cooley may max out with 10 more pts than slaf in their primes and with everything else slaf has slaf will make the bigger difference. Catton is also to small.. seneckke will surprise people just like slaf
Nah Slaf is gonna score more, pass more, hit more AND win more. He's the godamn complete package
Finally a mock draft where the hawks don’t pick Levshunov. Thank you.
@@dereklasker5350 you can go wrong if you pick Levshunov. He will not contribute to our horrible offense. We need offensive minded forwards who can produce. All we have is bedard right now.
@@Funkshwayoffense starts with defense. And I wish Chicago takes Demidov they will be so soft and easy to bully.
@@gp1237 I get that lol but you can’t create offense if your offense can’t contain pressure or create anything for themselves. You’re saying Levshunov should be the #1 defenseman on the hawks. That means he’s going to be going against every teams top lines. If you think Levshunov can even handle going against mcdavid, draisaitl, barkov, Mackinnon, Crosby, or any top line you’re delusional. Levshunov is lazy on the back end, doesn’t battle for pucks behind the net or in the corners, consistently leaves his defensive responsibilities. Wouldn’t you rather have a forward who can create his offense by himself who would take immense pressure of of our #1 forward in Connor bedard. What you’re saying is if you’re the oilers and you just draft Connor mcdavid and the next year you have the chance to take Leon draisaitl you’d rather take ekblad over draisaitl. Mcdavid definitely wouldn’t be in the finals without draisaitl right now. We need forwards, we need offense. We can get a top tier defenseman at 18 still but you won’t get an elite game breaking forward at 18.
Levshunov or Demidov at 2.
Love the picks for Chicago! Surprised to see Igor Chernyshov going that low.
As a Caps fan, I'd be happy with Michael Hage...but I really hope they pick Solberg. Dude is a beast...
Hage is great but with all the centers we have I don’t think we need another one, unless he is better than the ones we have, which Hage isn’t
My mock top 16 involved trades...
no need for 1... 2, Chicago liked Levshunov... 3. Anaheim trades down with Montreal, Montreal takes Demidov.... 4. CBJ takes Lindstrom... 5. Anaheim takes Yakemchuk... 6. Utah take Parekh... 7. Ottawa takes Dickinson... 8. Seattle takes Silayev... 9. Calgary takes Tij... 10. NJ may trade the pick... but the team trading probably takes Buium or NJ. 11. Buffalo made trade this one... if not, I have them taking Brandsegg Nygard... 12. Philly trades this pick to Ottawa for Chychrun, Ottawa flips the pick to Calgary for Andersson... Calgary draft Catton. 13. Minnesota may trade this pick (McGroarty? Necas?)... but this team takes Sennecke. 14. SJ take Eiserman 15. Detroit take Hellenius 16. St Louis takes EJ Emery
I'll end up being entirely wrong when Anaheim does something we don't expect and people be like "WHY DIDN'T YOU TRADE DOWN?!" like Montreal last year or something like that... cuz there's always a team that does something really ???
But that's my mock and I'm sticking to it!
This draft is going to be all over the map! Gonna be fun to watch.
Would love getting Helenius at 15
I think this is a really good mock draft
Thanks!
These are my top 5 picks
1. Celebrini
2. Demidov
3. Dickinson
4. Lindstrom
5. Iginla
Ducks will grab Lindstrom and enjoy the pundits shocked expressions. We haven't drafted a defenseman in the top 5 since 1998. We have taken a winger only once in the past twenty years. We are taking Cayden Lindstrom based on historical data and he is the typical Verbeek player.
@@brianlind4456lindstrom has a herniated disk. Because they haven’t drafted a d in top 5 means they will draft a d in a draft that is very d heavy.
One of the most realistic drafts I’ve seen except Iginla at 5. A reporter leaked the Canadians preference order at number 5 on Twitter/X and they want Demidov, Lindstrom, or Becket Sennecke. You nailed it on the Blues at 16 they will take Yakemchuk, Brandsegg-Nygard, Greentree, or trade down. I realistically could see them trading up to snag any of the first two names.
Heard a lot of rumblings about Sennecke at 5. Ideally the Habs land either Demidov or Lindstrom. This draft is going to be a wild ride. Possibly some trades in first round too...which we haven't seen in a while.
@@nhldraftpros What historical evidence do you have for the Ducks taking A Defenseman in the top 5?
As an isles fan I hope we do get Greentree. I’m usually wary about picking players that can’t skate that well (MDC, Reinhart, Bellows, etc) but his skating seems to have a lot of room for improvement, and he can think the game plenty fast. Maggio played with him for a season, so I doubt the isles don’t pick him if he’s available as they like to pick multiple players from the same org
Elick is my pick for the leafs too. Very underrated in this draft
Yes! Thank you!
With Strome locked up for 4 more seasons, PLD for 7 more seasons, Lapierre (currently top line C in the AHL Calder Cup Finals) and McMichael both recent first round draft picks...not sure Washington can afford to pick a Center here. They need RHD prospects. They need LW scorers. I think they have to move up a couple spots to that #10-#12 pick using some of their 2nds and 3rds. Take Eiserman or Yakemchuk or even Connelly. They have needs and another 2C isn't it. They need to move quantity for quality. They have to get someone who has top line/pairing potential ceiling, even if they're a bit of a project.
If we don’t trade up and take a dman ( Dickinson Buium or Parekh would be a dream) I hope we take Connelly at 17 OA.
Demidov abd Hage
Isles got some great steals this draft Eiserman at 20!
Finally someone who says Tij to Habs. 🎉
BOMBSHELL: The Ducks apparently like Yakemchuk.
WOW! That would be interesting too!
They are exploring trading their lower pick up… not reaching with 3OA lol
@@CouldntBeFowler im pretty sure montreal is doing that
@@Z0raPlus there's rumors Calgary might want to swap to get iginla . Doubt Calgary has enough to entice the habs
@@mitchryan5468 im pretty mtl would only do it if demidov is gone
Can the flyers run 8 lines? All they have are Right Wings and you just had them take another.
Exactly....pick is getting moved.
@@nhldraftpros and it sounds like Mitchkov is coming this year. Another right Wing. Trades need to be done.
@@toddgersh Yes indeed! Wow...this is gonna be a fun week!
Catton is a nice player but Fitzgerald has said on more than one ocassion this offseason he is looking to get bigger and tougher up front. I dont think they take a 5ft 10 guy. My guess is if Iginla is there he is the pick or Brandsegg-Nygard. OR they trade the pick for help now. I could see that pick and Marino being in play to WPG for McGroarty
No way the Flyers pass on Eiserman or Helenius for Sennecke
100% I wouldn't be upset if they took Sennecke but not over Eiserman or Helenius
Not a chance lol. Briere is not stupid
Sennecke has more potential than both
Detroit needs to start drafting North Americans.
Yup!!!
2-Demidov
3-Levshunov
4-Lindstrom
5-Iginla
6-Buium
7-Parekh
(I don't like Parekh but I also don't like Ott 😂)
*edit : olé smoke we have the same top 7 I wrote it before seeing it
How about the later rounds
Zero percent chance Philly passes on eiserman or a center. We don't need another d man rn.
I would hope the Isles don't pass on Luchanko. With Nelson and Pageau in their thirties, and Horvat in his late twenties, I'd like to see the Isles add Luchanko and his energy. Danny Nelson (last year's pick) would be a good 3rd line C down the road.
My nephew EJ to LA!!! Our family would be proud!!!
That would be awesome! He's a great player...congrats!
If the Hawks are able to draft both Demidov and Solberg, I'll lose my mind. In a good way. That is exactly the two players I realistically want to join the prospect pool.
Squeal!!!!
I don’t hate Yakemchuk by any means but this is almost a realistic worst case scenario for Buffalo. Helenius imo is the pick in this mock. The next best Center after Tage and Cozens on the depth chart is Ostlund. They rly can’t afford to make Krebs the 3c, he’s just not been that good. more of a 4th liner than a guy like Cirelli. In terms of need I rly think it’s Center first, RHD second. Every high-pick forward with Center hopes became a winger for us, but Catton has shown no reason to think he’s gonna shift to Wing
Sorry, not Catton, Helenius* lmao
Catton is a best case scenario for Buffalo lmao
Interested to see who my caps draft
Here's my top 16:
1.) SJS - Macklin Celebrini

Ill go outside the box.
1-Celebrini
2-Buium (this kid might very well be the best dman of this draft imo.)
3-Yakemchuk (big right D, physical, best slap shot of the draft, mean kid) Verbeek likes that kind of player apparently)
4-Demidov (the Russian is a good fit with Fantilli...wow. Colombus isn't afraid of Russians)
5-Lindstrom ( the big center, skilled and physical, that the Habs salivated on for years lol)
PS. Dickinson is a wild card and would be a really good fit in Columbus imo
Love this! Thanks for sharing!
Love this! Thanks for sharing!
На самом деле, было бы круто, если Демидов оказался в Коламбусе. Никаких проблем с адаптацией не было бы. Главное чтобы не в канадском клубе.
wish you wouldve looked at the hawks prospect pool for pick 18, cause they have 0 need for a LHD, not to say solberg is a bad player, or even a reach there, but the hawks #1 or #2 need is a RHD like emery, elick, or others, maybe you have them taking a couple in the 2nd/3rd but any LHD drafted by the hawks will likely never see anything better than 3rd line minutes, as vlasic and korchinski show a lot of promise, as does Ethan Del Mastro
I hope the Blackhawks are kicking themselves for taking levshunov over Demidov. All of us Hawks fans were screaming take Demidov take Demidov..... Those idiots went and took a defenseman. The Hawks have the worst forwards in the NHL and they have very decent d-man in their system, they needed a dynamic forward like Demidov.
the last thing the hawks need is another LD. if we dont take lev at 2, im hoping for badinka or emery at 34. no RD is worth the mid rounder
hoping the sens get emery or elick at 25
Because Ducks will grab Lindstrom based on historical data.
I really like this mock
THANKS!!!
Curious if Lindstrom drops due to his injury history. Also it's rumored Columbus might go with senneke
1. Celebrini
2. Demidov
3. Levshunov
4. Lindstrom
5. Sennecke
Sennecke at 5 is popular!
Overall this is an awesome mock draft but Dickinson AT #9 AFTER BUIUM, PAREKH, SILAYEV?? There's something I must not understand because to me, Dickinson is the best or second best Dman of the draft after Levshunov. Much better 200 foot game than Lev to me..
I have a Top 10 Defenseman video coming out tomorrow and Dickinson is higher on that list. The mock kinda follows some of what teams seem to like.
I doubt it'll happen, but I'm really hoping Senneke drops to my Wings at 15.
That would be huge!
I think he'll be picked around 12-18, he's too raw and hearing people putting him on their top 5 is f*cking hilarious
@@djclovissio2338 Thank you...agreed!
How do you have exactly same top 8 as me?😂🤯
LOL...great minds???
HABS NATIONS ! 🔵⚪️🔴
Really don’t want to see SJ take adam jiricek. Taking someone who is hurt that high doesn’t sit well with me. Solberg would be okay
No way on Iginla. I would rather Senneke as forward. Perhaps Bium on the back end. Opening up moving a D-man or 2 for forward scoring.
This is going to be a wild ride for sure on Friday!
The Flames won't pick a D. Catton or Sennecke if Tij isn't available.
Shame on any team that picks him before Calgary
@@terranboot9405sorry to pop your balloon but Tij isn't available at #9, impossible after hearing Lindstrom has an herniated disc..
He's the 3rd or 4th best forward of the draft and on the defense, I think only Lev, Dickinson, Buium might have more value than him
@@djclovissio2338 never draft by position, always draft the best player available.
Flyers are stacked at RW and weak everywhere else. They're def not taking Sennecke over Helenius
That pick is getting moved!
First time I disagree with you bud… someone in the Habs organization said that they would draft Sennecke or Buium before Iginla
Heard the same....they would prefer one of Demidov or Lindstrom, but hard to say after that. This draft is going to be wild after the 1st overall pick. Chicago is going to be the deciding factor for the rest of the draft. Levshunov, Lindstrom or Demidov at 2?
We took Iginla to Dinner.
@@27metro34 okay and ? We took Shane Wright to dinner and not Juraj Slafkovsky what’s your point ?
Who said this? What's your source?
I'm genuinely curious
@@mikeorton3068 I’m not sure but if you watch Habs Digest last 2 videos that talk about it
Hoping the ducks trade down. They’ve drafted high too often and are entering a new phase going from BPA to best fit. Ideally they convert the 3rd and 31/32 into 9th and 10th. I’m thinking Silayev + Sennecke would be more ideal, projectable and size that Verbeek has been leaning towards.
Teams don't traditionally move out of the top 5. The Ducks have a long history of drafting Centers in the top 5 and Cayden Lindstrom is the prototypical prospect Verbeek covets.
@@brianlind4456 I agree. Unlike other major sports, NHL teams rarely trade on draft day. With there being half a dozen or so in the same tier I always wish they got that extra pick and still get their guy, but they normally just make their pick. I viewed Lindstrom as the clear cut #2 prior to injury… not sure if they Ducks take that risk.
Parekh to my Sens would be perfect but naturally they will fuck it up and either trade down to take a lesser probably European player or trade the pick away entirely for an expensive American who doesn't want to be here. Cheers from Ottawa🍁
HAHAHA! Hopefully they do it right. However, there are trade talks with them and Philadelphia supposedly.
If you're the sens you want Dickinson
@@mitchryan5468 If we traded away Chabot I would agree but we really need a RHD.
Hawks Demidov = W Mock
Levshunov will be boring. Just because he right handed. A project. I think the Hawks will do something off board. Maybe trade up with Montreal. I personally think Iginla is the big slepper. Who knows maybe San Jose falls in love with Demitov. And trades with Chicago.
This NHL Draft is gonna be a fun one! So many scenarios!
I can't see the Flames drafting 2 D-man (unless there isn't a better player available or a trade can't be made) in the 1st round. Take a look at the trades the Flames have done and what's already on their roster. Flames desperately need help at center.
There are so many different things that could happen in this draft.
As a Habs fan I don’t like TJ ignlia kinda keeps me thinking why last year a D man when this year is a D man draft..
How about teddy stiga?
Round 2!
All I know is highlights on RUclips, but Yakemchuk seems like a terrific skater and 30 goals, but always after the other big name D. What am I not seeing?
The other dmen in this draft have insane stats as well
Some concerns with his defensive play. But fixable. Depends on what a team thinks of his upside I guess.
Montreal has Sennecke and Buuim before Iginla on their list
Lindstrom has the same back injury as Mario Lemieux. He's going to drop low on draft day.
NOPE! BUIUM has higher floor and ceiling, come on !
Zeev is probably THE number one in this draft!
I like Zeev a lot! This draft is going to be all over the map after 1st overall!
Interesting, Cole Hutson not picked in the 1st.
Tough call...he looked really good at U18s so he may slip into end of 1st.
I'm mad Montreal won't get Demidov or Lindstrom.
You never know! After first overall it's anyone's guess.
Ya it be disappointing if they don’t get either
Lindstrom has a herniated disc. It could be very risky. I opt for raw talent.
Demidov (if he's available), Catton or Iginla.
The flyers would never pick another RW at 12, you gotta do your research man. Michkov, Tippett, Konecny, Foerster, brink. They would never pick another right handed wing😂

@@Z0raPlus I guess, if u wanna nitpick but it’s not like people were raving about Lane’s skating compared to the Hughes’ or other prospects we’ve seen over the past few years. The differences in how the Hutsons play is very marginal. They look like the same player legit 😅
Нет Артамонова? Но есть Чернышов и Сурин... Он сильнее их. Если бы у меня был выбор 15+ я выбрал бы Артамонова.
He was close to 1st round for me.
Why would picks 1,2, and 4 go for best available compared to pick#3 which is a perceived need but with a little research is actually a strength? The Ducks are taking a Center at the third spot in the draft. I would be shocked if the Ducks skipped out on the best power forward in the draft. The ridiculous notion the Ducks are lacking in defensive prospects is just factually inaccurate. Do your dam research and learn more about each teams prospect system. Nine players at D have been drafted in the first round by the Ducks in the past twenty years. However A Defenseman has not been drafted by the Ducks in the top 5 since 1998. I'm questioning your research for this video and calling Cayden Lindstrom the #3 pick for the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks rarely draft for need in the top 5 and I figure you intentionally mislead viewers to get the players to the teams you want to win.
Hey I just do this for fun. Lindstrom at 3...yeah that's definitely a possibility.
As for their defensive pool...it's all left handed D with the exception Gudas, Lindstrom and Luneau. They also drafted Drysdale 6th overall and he's gone. This is a D heavy draft and why not take the top rated R shot D in Levshunov. NHL love Right handed D. We will only come to find out come draft day.
