    [Greeting]
Don't allow marketing to cause you to waist money. This detergent has quickly made its way to my bottom 3 of all time!
It is obvious, but this company did not pay me to review this product. I spent or shall I say waisted my hard earned money on this product to do this review.

    Great review. I haven't tried this brand & I guess that's a good thing.

Thanks for your review, very interesting test to compare a laundry soap with just water! We have never claimed that our Laundry Soda alone would remove these kinds of tough stains, we recommend pre-treating with our WOW Stick and/or using our Oxygen Brightener (natural bleach) for stain removal.

Water serves as the baseline in the majority of these detergent test. Other respected organizations like Consumer Reports and The New York Times have also used water as a control in their detergent evaluations. The rationale behind this is simple: if a detergent cannot outperform water, it fails the basic test of effectiveness and value.
Upon reviewing your website, I found no specific claims regarding stain removal. However, the issue lies in your "highly concentrated formula," as touted on your site, which performs negligibly better than plain water. Moreover, the telemarketers and influencers you've partnered with have disseminated misleading information, claiming your product is "better than the leading brand." While personal experiences can vary, spreading falsehoods to bolster a brand partnership is disrespectful to consumers. A quick search on RUclips for "Nellie's Laundry Soda" will reveal several such misleading endorsements.
I do commend your willingness to accept constructive criticism. Your response to my review speaks volumes. Many of the stains I tested are common and easily removed by other detergents I've reviewed, or at least come close. Some stains are admittedly tough, with no detergent I've tested managing to fully eliminate them. I understand there are specialized products like Biz Stain Eliminator or Oxi-Clean (which can be found for cheaper than your Oxygen Brightener), which utilize enzymes or serve as a chlorine bleach alternative for such tough stains, but the purpose of this test was to see what the detergent could do alone without the aid of other products.
My primary concern remains the cost-effectiveness of Nellie's product. Given its current performance, I cannot in good faith recommend it, especially for consumers seeking effective cleaning solutions. For those with lightly soiled clothes, I have numerous alternative recommendations. On my channel, I uphold a standard of cleanliness defined by "The 5 Pillars": effective stain and odor removal, compatibility with sensitive skin, removal of pollutants (smoke, smog, bacteria/viruses), and preservation of colors. While Nellie's may excel in skin sensitivity and color retention, I lack confidence in its ability to deliver on the other criteria.
I offer you the same advice I give to other brands striving to compete in the laundry detergent market: do not compromise on the fundamental purpose of your product - effectively cleaning clothes.
I will conduct a comparative review with Tide powder detergent, using a similar methodology to further illustrate my points. Additionally, I plan to test Ajax laundry detergent, available at Walmart for $1.78, to gauge how it performs against your product. If Nellie's cannot outperform a detergent priced under $2.00, it indicates a significant issue that your team must address urgently.

That Nellie’s stuff is almost identical to Oxi Clean versatile powder. I use Oxi Clean for all my whites with Tide with Oxi powder detergent. If you go to the online reviews for this Nellies washing soda and go to the one star reviews, you’ll see that people are not happy with this so-called natural detergent. I think it’s a scam too. Edit: I want to add that I always wash in warm or hot. Cold water does not dissolve body oils and funk. I think Tide powder detergent is excellent!!

I understand why people are not happy with it. There are a plethora of other options on the market that perform much better & at a better price!
