ABW at $150 I'm all in!!, Makes you think twice about China Jack Wolf Knives but I guess you pay 150 bucks extra for cool packaging...lol
Lol totally different animal. Oem/dealers. Packaging. More premium build and finish. Employees. Apples to oranges. But i get the itch to compare them
You can’t compare ABW to JWK. Two totally different companies and vastly different releases. JWK is the go-to when I want a new slipjoint. But $150 for an American made knife is insane and almost a deal you can’t pass up. I’ve yet to buy anything from ABW, but I’ve handled them and they are very nice.
That slipjoint is basically what I was waiting for the Bexar to become. I'm definitely wanting that one.
It always struck me how Michael Martin with only his wife helping, can be so prolific in his output of folders, fixed blades, and now slip joints. He gets blades in so many hands while the crew at Survive! knives cannot fulfill orders from 3 years ago. ABW is great
Lefty, I enjoyed meeting you and Colin at the Divo booth and I was able to pick up a stonewash Artic Storm Stout V2 (which I thought was all gone). I missed out on the online drop and I was really glad I could get one at the show.
I met Michael Martin at ABW at the show and he is such a great guy. I was finally able to pick up a Model 1 button lock in electric blue and it's an absolutely beautiful knife. I had his slip joint in my hands and its beautiful. Looking back I really wish I would've gotten one.

It was great to meet you at Blade, I had a huge haul as well. I was so happy to get a Stout V2. I got a nip as well. I had been waiting so long to get a Stout. You guys are both fast dudes!!

Blade show sounded great man. And I didn’t even know about some of those knives. Just ordered a sikorae from Gecko. Snagged the green. Super stoked. Also, I just picked up a Hera mini from Microtech. It’s even better than the guardian tactical GTX-025. Highly recommend.
I hate button locks and ultem, but the button lock ultem clinch river made my jorts tighten up fr....

I think everybody has the same gripe with the gecko customs, the price. Definitely a $300 knife and $405 is ass backwards. You’re in Hinderer territory there which this isn’t.
Yep the wood is Yew , used a bit back in the day making furniture, don’t chew the handle kids it’s mildly poisonous

I have the Gecko Sikorae in green Toxic Moss. It reminds me of a Rosie and Lamia that had a baby? Its a really great knife but I think the price point should have been $300-350 imo.
Kev I’ve drawn a pretty hard line unless they offer a lefty or a reversible clip on an ambidextrous knife I’m out won’t buy it period! Really like that Gecko knife if they make a lefty will 100% buy one!

Been awhile since I wanted a fixed blade, but the aesthetics on that Jack Wolf ... I sure wish they did more variety on their blade shapes and tried some other locking mechanisms.

that slip joint is awesome, It does make one wonder about jack wolf and others charging $300 plus for a Chinese made slip joint.
Chinese made AMERICAN KNIVES. Having American in there heeds one helluva profit margin gain.
Nah just the benfit of making your own stuff. Should make you question other US makers honestly. JWK pricing is because its being made for them, then dealers get a 30% cut, then 2-3 employees and really premium packaging and details. Equals $300. They aren’t making a fortune, i know the numbers based on my own company.
To me the idea that a Jack wolf is justified being priced as they are is crazy. Yes everyone involved needs to make money. Achieving that by making a knife over priced is not a good solution to me. I think we are about to see them lose a lot of the market share in slips w knives like these. Love the content as always kev!

Yea i saw the price is interesting. Worth it I think though. I know what Bestech charges and this is his full time job so i think its fair.
@@LeftyEDC when you do your review on the Sikorae could you please do a size comparison with your Buzz?
The Buzz is the smallest size knife that I'm comfortable with and able to deploy
@@Layzboyedci will do my best. Just compared them. Handles are identical in size. Blade is slightly shorter than the buzz, because we do the 50/50 choil and the sikorae has it all in the blade. So it would be tight i think but might work.
I had the money last week because my birthday is coming up amd the silkorae is not worth the price I missed out twice on a full size sweeney in ultem I'm hoping to get a tempest tomorrow but there aren't many left.

Yes they are. Usually hate them. This one makes sense. Watch the disassembly tomorrow. The detent post makes the ramp needed, its a great design.

Beautiful knives, especially that prince custom with purple scales. But for those who don't know what CNC machinery is, it's nothing but an assembly made knife, so nothing special. Still nice to have as long as QA/QC are doing their job. Just don't be fooled by "CNC" hyped machinery.
Yea.. anyone can just pop a knife out of a machine. 🤣
Didn't quite mean it that way towards you, but some companies take it a little too far with their "CNC" machinery. I've ran many "mori seiki" cnc machines to include both lathes and milling machines to know that it's nothing too special. I will say that I enjoyed the many yrs of the machining side and the set-up side to go in, making the offsets when needed. Enjoy your videos, as I have recently started collecting knives. Love metal!
