For people who talk about the wages earned in each country, I say start calculating the spending on each country too. (Moscow and Los Angeles) In my opinion the average Angelino is paying tons more in taxes, Rent, Utilities, insurances and so much more… so if you think that the spending power is so much greater in Los Angeles because higher income you’re completely wrong. Hi Daniel . Another great video ! In my opinion , the best way to compere standard of living in L.A. to Moscow is calculating in percentage . For example : How much percentage of the wage you pay for rent , utilities , food , fuel , etc. per month in those two cities .

The American salaries are not much higher... this is a false belief... someone in McDonalds is not making so much and tons of Americans work there.. Americans work 2-3 jobs where im from.
I highly disagree with Daniel here. Even if you take a low salary of $7.5 an hour, at 8h/day 5days/week 4 weeks/month, you'll get $1200. Which is somewhat less than an _average_ salary in Moscow (last I checked it was equivalent to $1400 or 130 000₽). Afaik, in Vkusno i Tochka, you'll be getting smth like 50 000₽. BUT! That's just numbers. In reality, the cost of living in general is much lower in Russia. All the bills for electricity, gas, internet, mobile data etc are MUCH MUCH lower. Same for buying your own flat/home. Although it depends on the specific city/location. The big difference is cars. Car market has been hit HARD. Yes, China did come in, but China is not a charitable organization. So the prices went up. Electronics in general are less affordable, but it's not a huge deal. For us it's always been like this, so there's no shock. I mean, a CPU is a CPU. Let's say, the base price is $150. Obviously, it's cheaper with a US wage, but all in all PC parts are affordable. However, when it comes to devices of specific brands the prices can be quite... rabid. In which case we turn our eyes to Chinese/local brands.

IMHO If you have a passive income, then you have nothing to do in the USA. Pay attention to Bulgaria. Bulgaria is a favorite place for tourists from different countries. It is not difficult to move here, if you are retired. The procedure is simple and does not require much effort or large investments. It is enough to deposit an amount corresponding to the minimum Bulgarian pension for a year, rent or buy a house and get a long-term visa to Bulgaria

Admittedly I went to Moscow long before sanctions, 2015. But their supermarkets had everything you could want, and the prices were ridiculously low compared to the UK! Annual salaries generally reflect the cost of living in each country, but a lot of people in the west are really struggling at the moment!!
Because our salaries are much lower than in western countries, now inflation rate is oficially 20%. We tightened our belts more. For example my internship salary in Germany was higher than what our university tutors receive here in a good university, but as I was a student in Germany I didn’t pay taxes, transportation was for free, on other stuff discounts (clothes/ food) discounts 50% on any train tickets to other regions in Germany etc so our internship salaries was enough for us! In Germany poverty line is when the salary 2000€ per month, and people like that receive social aid from the gov, here poverty line salary depending on the region is nearly 13,000 rubles to new currency equivalent to 148 $ per month, my moms pension she worked as anesthesiologist nurse in Reanimation receive 150$ pension per month, it’s enough only for medicaments for example Moscow and St. Petersburg it’s not the same as other regions, that’s why a lot migrate from other regions to Moscow or St. Petersburg, still they need to pay high rent for example comparing to the salaries (like anywhere else in the world)
@@parrtysuz87 To be fair, no one earns 13,000; the average salary in Russia is now more than 70,000 rubles, or something like 800 dollars. Salary tax is 13%, it is automatically paid by the employer. However, as even this video shows, there is no point in comparing salaries in dollars, prices differ significantly, and the cost structure differs even more.

In 2012 I was in Croatia, back at that time they were independent not in EU, so for me and other tourists all was super cheap but for them it was a struggle .. 😅🙈 after that I stopped comparing the prices in the stores. В Штатах и вообще - на Западе - принято говорить о зарплате ДО налогов. В России, насколько я знаю, всегда говорили об ОСТАВШИХСЯ В КАРМАНЕ деньгах, после налогов. Если я говорю, что у меня зарплата 50000 рублей, то это означает, что эти деньги я могу пощупать в своём кармане сразу же, после получения мной зарплаты (после всех, уплаченных работодателем, налогов, о которых мне нет особого дела). И потом могу их все потратить на свои нужды. В Британии в 80-х были налоги, доходящие до 97%. Ну, и как это считать? Сколько в те времена получал тогдашний бизнесмен: миллион фунтов или 30000 фунтов? Есть чем мериться?
@@Wild-Siberia There was a huge tebate few years ago in some internal Russian net platforms (i saw it only on pikabu though) between working people, mostly white collars, and employers, who are mostly small and medium size companies, about that thing. Overall conclusion was that the average employee costs to the company +35-45% of their salary. Not sure if it's including classical 13% 🤔 So, my meaning, that if some employe here saying that he is getting 1000 usd it's what he gets on hands all taxes and social/pension and other payments included. PS. Merriting on country in USD or other value is self not right, no real picture and ect.
@@ChessmasterH Also we have NDS (НДС) TAX which is 20%, any goods include this tax in price. If you need to produce something as a company from many components you will pay this tax, more components, more multiplier. I estimated couple years ago, if you include company payments for workers (which employer pays) with NDS + 13% and you spend ALL your money every month, which I do. Your REAL taxes will be about 60-65% from amount of money, that employer plan to spend on you as a salary. 13% tax in russia it's a bullshit, you people don't understand how things works here in Russia. One more thing, all above correct for regular working contracts (heritage from USSR actually, you don't have such thing in the west). We have other forms of contracts between workers and employers, some of them prefered by companies (less social taxes), some for workers (less income taxes). I don't want to say that situation here is bad, no, actually Russia is fucking great. But check facts by yourself and read actual sources, before you start to plan some important actions. Life is hard anywhere on the planet and don't forgive any shit. Be wise. Cheers.

@@kto475, я неправильно выразился. Дело-то есть, но меня ОЧЕНЬ интересует сумма, оставшаяся после всех вычетов, а не общие слова, т.к. я не обязан знать % налогов. Точно так же я всегда спрашиваю размер переплаты, когда беру кредит или сам его вычисляю при банковском клерке. %% при этом получаются не совсем те, которые декларируются в Договоре, но это банкиры умело маскируют всякими формулировками и прочими хитростями. P.S. Насколько я знаю, в Штатах каждый сам ещё должен заполнить налоговую декларацию. Скорее всего работодатель выплачивает только часть - только с той З.П., которую выплачивает он, а т.к. большинство мерикосов работает на нескольких работах, совокупный налог может получиться не совсем как сумма налогов всех работодателей. Очевидно, что может возникнуть какой-то "прогресс", который и должен обсчитывать сам работник.
Not only is the bread cheap in Russia but it also tastes nice and if you time it right at the larger supermarkets you can get one that’s fresh out of the oven still warm, crunchy and smells nice, a lot of bread in America should be classified as cake 😂

I live in Toronto and my girlfriend lives in Moscow. Thank you for doing this vlog. Sadly, prices in Toronto are about 25% higher than in the US, after converting to USD. When I lived in the US, I was actually always amazed at how cheap groceries were there. Then I saw what the same groceries cost in Moscow…. I think I might have to move to Moscow 😅.

Even accounting for the massive portions sold at USA stores; the prices are out of control, it's cheaper here in Australia but still our prices have been rapidly rising over the last few years too. I've visited Russia a few times when I lived in Europe; Moscow isn't as expensive as some super remote Siberian Arctic mining town for food; But it's not as cheap as say Kursk, Kaluga or any middle Russia flyover city supermarket. She could have matched your portions by just grabbing two of what she bought; and it still would be roughly 1/3rd the cost of LA.
Yes I bought gallon milk yesterday at Wal-Mart $2.99. Raphs higher end gorcey store. But bacon crazy expensive. It was $ 5.00. Eggs were $ 3.00. I never shop anywhere but Adli and Walmart

Thank you, guys, for the new video. Though it's interesting to compare prices for groceries, it would be more objective to sit down and calculate all the expenses for a month. But if we listen to the stories of many russian compatriots living in the USA, usually the story goes that they can afford more than they could living in Russia. But I think Russia very much compensates this with free healthcare, good schools (still, although not as good as they used to be in the USSR), and available public transport. And clean streets. But in the end of the day, what matters the most is to be surrounded with your people, your tribe, your culture, which you cannot buy anywhere.
If we compare something for everyday life, clothes are cheaper in the US. Clothing and shoes. And of course cars, but cars are a one-time expense. Everything else is more expensive - food, medicine, rent, everything else that the average person has to deal with.

Your video is great. I liked the instant way you presented the prices in US and Russia together having anyone the immediate comparison of prices. Of course I was fully impressed by this huge gap between prices in the two countries. In my country, Greece, we have the same problem as America. Despite of my government's efforts prices are still high and they will rise from the beginning of the New Year.

I watch Traveling with Russell and so I see the many hyper markets he goes to like Globus and others. Makes me ask the question, “What Sanctions”? But in order to know about the difference you have to look at the geopolitical realities and I am convinced that many of us are looking at the shiny coin while the magician slips the other coins into his other pocket. I do not have the time or space to explore all that is going on in the world that causes all of this. I can say that things are changing rapidly as countries jostle around for top position on our planet.
The sanctions are not in supermarkets or the prices. Russia has been isolated from the rest of the world. You cannot even send a postcard to anyone in Russia because of the sanctions. Banking is the same. Non existent.
Please do (if you are interested) a review of prices at McDonald's! This is where the problem is: I recently saw a price chart at McDonald's in the USA. Judging by it, $25 can buy cola, potatoes and something else. In Russia it’s 2300 rubles and for this amount you can buy almost the entire McDonald’s menu (70-80 percent for sure). This surprised me extremely. I'm not sure if this is true. It's true?
Well, I’m from Russia, I order delivery, and 800 rubles is enough for a full order. This is most often 9 nuggets, large fries, 2-3 burgers and a "Caesar" roll.
Those who compared McDonald's in Russia and the USA say that these are, in principle, very different things, although they have the same name. But yes, 2300 rubles is a lot. I can tell you some people in Russia keep "rioting" about prices in supermarkets, they prefer places like "Маяк", so called lowcost markets. They save money on the store maintainence, they look like warehouses, they all goods are stored in carton boxes, this is why prices are much lower than in regular supermarkets and the quality of goods is often also lower, but prices can be like 20-50% lower then usual. You don’t have to be poor to want to go to such supermarkets, they have good sweets and cookies, which I can only buy in these supermarkets, they are sold in large packages and much cheaper than in regular supermarkets.

As a Canadian, I thought our prices were expensive, and shocked to see how cheap groceries are in Russia, yet so expensive in the USA. I personally think that living in Russia would be far better than living in North America. (Our governments are screwing us)

In Britain I do my big shop at Aldi. It is a German owned supermarket chain that does cheaper food which still tastes nice. A quick look on google says there are three Aldi stores in Los Angeles. Otherwise regular British supermarket prices will be about 1/4 less than what you showed in LA.

Actually eggs just got up highter in prices as part of yearly cost rise, which always happens in Russia at the end of december. A month ago they costed 75 rubles against 116 right now.

Я живу в маленьком городе, работаю на удаленке (не программист) и моего дохода хватает, чтобы через 3 года накопления купить участок земли с обычным русским домом с газоснабжением, водопроводом и электричеством, без ипотеки и кредитов само собой. У нас такие участки по 500-700 тыс. стоят. То, чего многим американцам и не снилось.
Да хорошая идея! в каждой стране цена соответствуют уровню жизни и зарплат. есть Штаты где больше налогов платят и есть где меньше, мне знакомые говорили что к примеру лучше жить в Техасе чем а Калифорнию, даже если зарплаты чуть ниже, все равно могут себе позволить больше чем те, так как у тех все дорого. Если сравнивать страны между собой то надо ещё добавить зарплаты и налоги. )) к примеру если в Германии зарплата 2000€ а месяц то это считается уровень бедности и такие люди получают гос поддержку, так как очень высокие налоги итд, норма для них от 3000€, у меня там стажировка была, если в Хорватии уровень бедности считается 500€ в месяц зарплата то соответственно и цены будут на много ниже чем в Германии и налоги. в Хорватии на 1000€ можно нормально жить в вот в Германии уже нет.
А какие налоги у нас,интересно,пенсионерка я,плачу только,свет вода, мусоровоз, 600р в месяц, за дом не плачу налог,,пенсионеры не платят,льготах,по городу автобус бесплатный есть.

I knew that the prices in the USA would be more, they are also more than Russia here in Canada where I’m from. I’ve been to Russia to visit my extended family many times, so I speak with experience. One thing you need to keep in mind when doing these type of comparisons is what the average wage is between the two locations, this is a huge factor. I will say that where I’m from in Canada the wage is more but in comparison to the cost vs wage in each location, it’s still cheaper in Russia.
The the thing is compared to wages Russians have more spending power for sure. It’s strange how high prices are in America since wages stay relatively the same and rent and insurances and bills are insane

При этом речь идёт явно не об органических яйцах (фермерских) которые стоят в США в среднем 7,50 баксов. Органическая еда у них стоит дороже, чем промышленная. Тот же бургер или как там этот большой бутерброд называется? В Нюйерке стоит 9 баксов, а пачка самых дешёвых сигарет 11 баксов. За налоги лучше и не заикаться, как и за космические цены за мед страховку, авто страховку. Все это съедает лиыиную часть доходов среднестатистического гражданина США и он в лучшем случае 35 000 баксов в год на руки получает, с такими ценами на продукты и тд. Можете сами представить на сколько это мало. У обычного американца несколько кредиток и он годами и даже десятилетиями живёт в бесконечных долгах, беря кредиты, что бы погасить другие кредиты. Это на столько сильно ростовщическая страна, что россиянин даже врятли представить себе может, что эта кабала из себя представляет. При этом за не оплаченный долг, американца могут на улицу вышвырнуть и вышвыривают тысячами. Они потом в авто и в палатках живут и дети из этих авто ходят в школу. По сути своей как минимум половина населения США живут как рабы 🤷♂️

I live in Southern California and it is insane. I’m working two full-time jobs. and barely getting through. even after house downsizing we got rid of our five bedroom home and we bought a three bedroom! we had 4 vehicles. This videos is a great idea. You could compare so many things! For example transportation cost. Not everybody work remotely and have to go office. And both cities are big, so you could compare how much time and money it will take from person if he works somewhere in city center or in rural area. Way to work and back takes a lot of our time.
One easy comparison - in Moscow, a gallon of regular gas costs $2.2. It was just $2 a couple months ago, but something happened couple months ago and dollar went down.

Don't confuse the prices in LA to the rest of the country. I live in the Beautiful, Free state of Florida and our grocery prices are 30-40% cheaper. Florida does not tax groceries either. $5.00 for a dozed eggs is insane. I buy a box od 60 eggs at our store for $5.58. Good luck on your vacation.
It's okay to do a comparison between Moscow and LA, because Moscow is a capital, so prices here are usually higher rather than in other regions of Russia (just like they are in LA in comparison with other parts of USA)

Well, I live in a normal area and everything is within walking distance. School, shops, kindergarten... i.e. in Russian cities they try to distribute all important infrastructure across districts for accessibility. In the USA too?
It’s so expensive here in Canada, it’s much more expensive when you get to northern Canada. For example the bacon would be more than 20-30 Canadian dollars, milk can be around the same price too
Truth be told, in Russia we also get a price hike when moving to the northern regions, especially permafrost area. At some remote places, prices can be 10 times higher because of logistic complexity (but so are most salaries, like petrol and gas industry). Guess its the same thing as in Canada.

For people who talk about the wages earned in each country, I say start calculating the spending on each country too. (Moscow and Los Angeles)
In my opinion the average Angelino is paying tons more in taxes, Rent, Utilities, insurances and so much more… so if you think that the spending power is so much greater in Los Angeles because higher income you’re completely wrong.
This is a straight comparison to see prices not to compare which place is better or worse.

I highly disagree with Daniel here. Even if you take a low salary of $7.5 an hour, at 8h/day 5days/week 4 weeks/month, you'll get $1200. Which is somewhat less than an _average_ salary in Moscow (last I checked it was equivalent to $1400 or 130 000₽). Afaik, in Vkusno i Tochka, you'll be getting smth like 50 000₽.
BUT! That's just numbers. In reality, the cost of living in general is much lower in Russia. All the bills for electricity, gas, internet, mobile data etc are MUCH MUCH lower. Same for buying your own flat/home. Although it depends on the specific city/location.
The big difference is cars. Car market has been hit HARD. Yes, China did come in, but China is not a charitable organization. So the prices went up.
Electronics in general are less affordable, but it's not a huge deal. For us it's always been like this, so there's no shock. I mean, a CPU is a CPU. Let's say, the base price is $150. Obviously, it's cheaper with a US wage, but all in all PC parts are affordable. However, when it comes to devices of specific brands the prices can be quite... rabid. In which case we turn our eyes to Chinese/local brands.
The west is falling apart..i live in Toronto all my life and bought a place in Serbia its crazy to say but there's more freedom and democracy than in Canada and people are more happy and friendly

IMHO If you have a passive income, then you have nothing to do in the USA. Pay attention to Bulgaria. Bulgaria is a favorite place for tourists from different countries. It is not difficult to move here, if you are retired. The procedure is simple and does not require much effort or large investments. It is enough to deposit an amount corresponding to the minimum Bulgarian pension for a year, rent or buy a house and get a long-term visa to Bulgaria

In Germany poverty line is when the salary 2000€ per month, and people like that receive social aid from the gov, here poverty line salary depending on the region is nearly 13,000 rubles to new currency equivalent to 148 $ per month, my moms pension she worked as anesthesiologist nurse in Reanimation receive 150$ pension per month, it’s enough only for medicaments for example
Moscow and St. Petersburg it’s not the same as other regions, that’s why a lot migrate from other regions to Moscow or St. Petersburg, still they need to pay high rent for example comparing to the salaries (like anywhere else in the world)

В Штатах и вообще - на Западе - принято говорить о зарплате ДО налогов. В России, насколько я знаю, всегда говорили об ОСТАВШИХСЯ В КАРМАНЕ деньгах, после налогов. Если я говорю, что у меня зарплата 50000 рублей, то это означает, что эти деньги я могу пощупать в своём кармане сразу же, после получения мной зарплаты (после всех, уплаченных работодателем, налогов, о которых мне нет особого дела). И потом могу их все потратить на свои нужды. В Британии в 80-х были налоги, доходящие до 97%. Ну, и как это считать? Сколько в те времена получал тогдашний бизнесмен: миллион фунтов или 30000 фунтов? Есть чем мериться?

There was a huge tebate few years ago in some internal Russian net platforms (i saw it only on pikabu though) between working people, mostly white collars, and employers, who are mostly small and medium size companies, about that thing.
Overall conclusion was that the average employee costs to the company +35-45% of their salary.
Not sure if it's including classical 13% 🤔
So, my meaning, that if some employe here saying that he is getting 1000 usd it's what he gets on hands all taxes and social/pension and other payments included.

Merriting on country in USD or other value is self not right, no real picture and ect.
@@ChessmasterH Also we have NDS (НДС) TAX which is 20%, any goods include this tax in price. If you need to produce something as a company from many components you will pay this tax, more components, more multiplier. I estimated couple years ago, if you include company payments for workers (which employer pays) with NDS + 13% and you spend ALL your money every month, which I do. Your REAL taxes will be about 60-65% from amount of money, that employer plan to spend on you as a salary. 13% tax in russia it's a bullshit, you people don't understand how things works here in Russia. One more thing, all above correct for regular working contracts (heritage from USSR actually, you don't have such thing in the west). We have other forms of contracts between workers and employers, some of them prefered by companies (less social taxes), some for workers (less income taxes). I don't want to say that situation here is bad, no, actually Russia is fucking great. But check facts by yourself and read actual sources, before you start to plan some important actions. Life is hard anywhere on the planet and don't forgive any shit. Be wise. Cheers.
Вообще то большинство людей в США работают о форме w-2, при которой налоги так же платятся работодателем и на руки работник получает деньги уже после вычета налогов. Ну а то что тебе нет дела до налогов с твоей зарплаты это печально )))
@@kto475, я неправильно выразился. Дело-то есть, но меня ОЧЕНЬ интересует сумма, оставшаяся после всех вычетов, а не общие слова, т.к. я не обязан знать % налогов. Точно так же я всегда спрашиваю размер переплаты, когда беру кредит или сам его вычисляю при банковском клерке. %% при этом получаются не совсем те, которые декларируются в Договоре, но это банкиры умело маскируют всякими формулировками и прочими хитростями.
P.S. Насколько я знаю, в Штатах каждый сам ещё должен заполнить налоговую декларацию. Скорее всего работодатель выплачивает только часть - только с той З.П., которую выплачивает он, а т.к. большинство мерикосов работает на нескольких работах, совокупный налог может получиться не совсем как сумма налогов всех работодателей. Очевидно, что может возникнуть какой-то "прогресс", который и должен обсчитывать сам работник.
Not only is the bread cheap in Russia but it also tastes nice and if you time it right at the larger supermarkets you can get one that’s fresh out of the oven still warm, crunchy and smells nice, a lot of bread in America should be classified as cake 😂

I live in Toronto and my girlfriend lives in Moscow. Thank you for doing this vlog. Sadly, prices in Toronto are about 25% higher than in the US, after converting to USD. When I lived in the US, I was actually always amazed at how cheap groceries were there. Then I saw what the same groceries cost in Moscow…. I think I might have to move to Moscow 😅.

Even accounting for the massive portions sold at USA stores; the prices are out of control, it's cheaper here in Australia but still our prices have been rapidly rising over the last few years too. I've visited Russia a few times when I lived in Europe; Moscow isn't as expensive as some super remote Siberian Arctic mining town for food; But it's not as cheap as say Kursk, Kaluga or any middle Russia flyover city supermarket. She could have matched your portions by just grabbing two of what she bought; and it still would be roughly 1/3rd the cost of LA.
Yes I bought gallon milk yesterday at Wal-Mart $2.99. Raphs higher end gorcey store. But bacon crazy expensive. It was $ 5.00. Eggs were $ 3.00. I never shop anywhere but Adli and Walmart

Thank you, guys, for the new video. Though it's interesting to compare prices for groceries, it would be more objective to sit down and calculate all the expenses for a month. But if we listen to the stories of many russian compatriots living in the USA, usually the story goes that they can afford more than they could living in Russia. But I think Russia very much compensates this with free healthcare, good schools (still, although not as good as they used to be in the USSR), and available public transport. And clean streets. But in the end of the day, what matters the most is to be surrounded with your people, your tribe, your culture, which you cannot buy anywhere.
If we compare something for everyday life, clothes are cheaper in the US. Clothing and shoes. And of course cars, but cars are a one-time expense. Everything else is more expensive - food, medicine, rent, everything else that the average person has to deal with.

Your video is great. I liked the instant way you presented the prices in US and Russia together having anyone the immediate comparison of prices. Of course I was fully impressed by this huge gap between prices in the two countries. In my country, Greece, we have the same problem as America. Despite of my government's efforts prices are still high and they will rise from the beginning of the New Year.

I watch Traveling with Russell and so I see the many hyper markets he goes to like Globus and others. Makes me ask the question, “What Sanctions”? But in order to know about the difference you have to look at the geopolitical realities and I am convinced that many of us are looking at the shiny coin while the magician slips the other coins into his other pocket. I do not have the time or space to explore all that is going on in the world that causes all of this. I can say that things are changing rapidly as countries jostle around for top position on our planet.
This is just another redivision of the world

I recently saw a price chart at McDonald's in the USA.
Judging by it, $25 can buy cola, potatoes and something else.
In Russia it’s 2300 rubles and for this amount you can buy almost the entire McDonald’s menu (70-80 percent for sure).
This surprised me extremely.

Well, I’m from Russia, I order delivery, and 800 rubles is enough for a full order. This is most often 9 nuggets, large fries, 2-3 burgers and a "Caesar" roll.
Those who compared McDonald's in Russia and the USA say that these are, in principle, very different things, although they have the same name. But yes, 2300 rubles is a lot. I never eat there, but one day a homeless man asked to buy him a cheeseburger. Two ones and a hot drink cost 200 or 300 rubles, I don’t remember.

It is also worth considering that in Russia you do not pay tax for purchasing groceries in a store.
I can tell you some people in Russia keep "rioting" about prices in supermarkets, they prefer places like "Маяк", so called lowcost markets. They save money on the store maintainence, they look like warehouses, they all goods are stored in carton boxes, this is why prices are much lower than in regular supermarkets and the quality of goods is often also lower, but prices can be like 20-50% lower then usual. You don’t have to be poor to want to go to such supermarkets, they have good sweets and cookies, which I can only buy in these supermarkets, they are sold in large packages and much cheaper than in regular supermarkets.

As a Canadian, I thought our prices were expensive, and shocked to see how cheap groceries are in Russia, yet so expensive in the USA. I personally think that living in Russia would be far better than living in North America. (Our governments are screwing us)

In Britain I do my big shop at Aldi. It is a German owned supermarket chain that does cheaper food which still tastes nice. A quick look on google says there are three Aldi stores in Los Angeles. Otherwise regular British supermarket prices will be about 1/4 less than what you showed in LA.

Actually eggs just got up highter in prices as part of yearly cost rise, which always happens in Russia at the end of december. A month ago they costed 75 rubles against 116 right now.

в каждой стране цена соответствуют уровню жизни и зарплат.
есть Штаты где больше налогов платят и есть где меньше, мне знакомые говорили что к примеру лучше жить в Техасе чем а Калифорнию, даже если зарплаты чуть ниже, все равно могут себе позволить больше чем те, так как у тех все дорого.
Если сравнивать страны между собой то надо ещё добавить зарплаты и налоги.

к примеру если в Германии зарплата 2000€ а месяц то это считается уровень бедности и такие люди получают гос поддержку, так как очень высокие налоги итд, норма для них от 3000€, у меня там стажировка была, если в Хорватии уровень бедности считается 500€ в месяц зарплата то соответственно и цены будут на много ниже чем в Германии и налоги.
в Хорватии на 1000€ можно нормально жить в вот в Германии уже нет.
А какие налоги у нас,интересно,пенсионерка я,плачу только,свет вода, мусоровоз, 600р в месяц, за дом не плачу налог,,пенсионеры не платят,льготах,по городу автобус бесплатный есть.

I knew that the prices in the USA would be more, they are also more than Russia here in Canada where I’m from. I’ve been to Russia to visit my extended family many times, so I speak with experience.
One thing you need to keep in mind when doing these type of comparisons is what the average wage is between the two locations, this is a huge factor.
I will say that where I’m from in Canada the wage is more but in comparison to the cost vs wage in each location, it’s still cheaper in Russia.
The the thing is compared to wages Russians have more spending power for sure. It’s strange how high prices are in America since wages stay relatively the same and rent and insurances and bills are insane

Yes, it’s ridiculous. It’s crazy even for us Americans so when people say Americans make more money so things cost more it’s still very unfair.
При этом речь идёт явно не об органических яйцах (фермерских) которые стоят в США в среднем 7,50 баксов. Органическая еда у них стоит дороже, чем промышленная. Тот же бургер или как там этот большой бутерброд называется? В Нюйерке стоит 9 баксов, а пачка самых дешёвых сигарет 11 баксов. За налоги лучше и не заикаться, как и за космические цены за мед страховку, авто страховку. Все это съедает лиыиную часть доходов среднестатистического гражданина США и он в лучшем случае 35 000 баксов в год на руки получает, с такими ценами на продукты и тд. Можете сами представить на сколько это мало. У обычного американца несколько кредиток и он годами и даже десятилетиями живёт в бесконечных долгах, беря кредиты, что бы погасить другие кредиты. Это на столько сильно ростовщическая страна, что россиянин даже врятли представить себе может, что эта кабала из себя представляет. При этом за не оплаченный долг, американца могут на улицу вышвырнуть и вышвыривают тысячами. Они потом в авто и в палатках живут и дети из этих авто ходят в школу. По сути своей как минимум половина населения США живут как рабы 🤷♂️

Prices are a lot higher in Los Angeles compared to other American cities. Here in Iowa, where I live, turkey Bacon is $1.51 contrasted with the $6 you paid in Los Angeles

I live in Southern California and it is insane. I’m working two full-time jobs. and barely getting through. even after house downsizing we got rid of our five bedroom home and we bought a three bedroom! we had 4 vehicles. Now we have 2.. we got rid off all the subscriptions, and we went from full coverage insurance to liability just to survive!!
And that’s in the last four years or so!!

Occasionally we have persimmons here in the PNW. They're expensive too. I like them. The grocery costs here are ridiculous.
Persimmons are 0.99 a pound here in Atlanta Georgia at Farmers Market. The small round ones, the bigger oval shaped are 1.49 a pound.
I think persiommons are seasonal, only see them late autumn and beginning part of winter and then they disappear till next year. 🤔

This videos is a great idea. You could compare so many things! For example transportation cost. Not everybody work remotely and have to go office. And both cities are big, so you could compare how much time and money it will take from person if he works somewhere in city center or in rural area. Way to work and back takes a lot of our time.

One easy comparison - in Moscow, a gallon of regular gas costs $2.2. It was just $2 a couple months ago, but something happened couple months ago and dollar went down.

Don't confuse the prices in LA to the rest of the country. I live in the Beautiful, Free state of Florida and our grocery prices are 30-40% cheaper. Florida does not tax groceries either. $5.00 for a dozed eggs is insane. I buy a box od 60 eggs at our store for $5.58. Good luck on your vacation.

It's okay to do a comparison between Moscow and LA, because Moscow is a capital, so prices here are usually higher rather than in other regions of Russia (just like they are in LA in comparison with other parts of USA)

It’s so expensive here in Canada, it’s much more expensive when you get to northern Canada. For example the bacon would be more than 20-30 Canadian dollars, milk can be around the same price too

Truth be told, in Russia we also get a price hike when moving to the northern regions, especially permafrost area. At some remote places, prices can be 10 times higher because of logistic complexity (but so are most salaries, like petrol and gas industry). Guess its the same thing as in Canada.
