    Hey! Thanks for watching the video! :)
    Sorry for mispronouncing "The" all the time, I always struggle with that :D
    Also I forgot to mention a bpm recommendation for the harder hitting stuff, I recommend something between 100 - 150bpm.

    Really late comment here but I absolutely love this game and have a passion for music. I’m attending school to learn theory and take classes for edm. I create music in the Synthwave genre and crave this kind of sound. I appreciate the help and hope to one day perfect this style!

    Good song man! It still sounds a little off of the hotline miami style to me but i think a big part of that is the level music coordination, the music and levels are both so recognizable while playing seeing one with a different track is just weird. Probably the best example of this is bloodline by scattle in the cargo level with pardo, for whatever reason those 2 just go so well together it would be unimaginable without that combo

    Great video I can see that you put a lot of work into it and it paid off, (I don't mean to say well done just to get my suggestion in but...) I was thinking that Rachet and Clank would be cool with how David Bergeaud's music for the game evolved over the game releases changing from more of a synthy kind of music using things like the Access Virus B to more orchestral peace as the years progressed. Great video Once again.

    Just curious, what's your opinion on Mega Drive? I've been listening to a lot of their music ever since I played Hotline Miami 2, and they really have that Dark Vibe, even compared to the rest of Hotline Miami music.

    • @illestvillain1971
      @illestvillain1971 Год назад +1

      If you want my opinion I love mega drive. Love their use of drums and sorta grainy synths/ arpeggios. Just gorgeous. This is the type of music I'm tryna make but I'm always ever so slightly off that dark and intriguing vibe.

    • @stingwave
      @stingwave Год назад

      @@illestvillain1971 I totally agree! I feel like they have a really unique style of dark synth. I've also tried to make some similar music to them, I've gotten really close. I found I was able to create similar sounds through Diva and Vital if that helps. Just curious, what would you say your favorite song or album is from them?

    • @RosentwigMusic
      @RosentwigMusic  6 лет назад

      baris karaer I briefly touched upon those ambient chords in the video.
      For the hard hitting stuff, you could try to experiment with the Phrygian scale and get the flat 2 in there 😊

  • @beadie3600
    @beadie3600 4 года назад +1

    For the more hard hitting stuff, What scales would you typically use? I dont know much about music theory or anything and im just trying to get an idea of what sort of scales give off certain vibes and what not. Ive been really into this genre and have a very hard time writing the melodies without a designated scale to go by, Thank you.

    • @RosentwigMusic
      @RosentwigMusic  4 года назад +1

      I would mainly focus on minor scales and the phrygian mode.
      Especially the first 2 notes in the phrygian scale work great in a bassline

    Do you think you could give me a shopping list of things I'll need to produce this music? I've made some basic vaporwave on fl studio but is love to try making some hotline Miami beats

    • @RosentwigMusic
      @RosentwigMusic  5 лет назад

      Sure! You really just need a decent synth (I recommend Serum or Massive because both of them are very versatile and they got built in Reverbs, Delays etc.), but you could also do these things in native FL synths like harmless or harmor.
      You can really make any kind of music, with any kind of daw without buying new stuff, but you need to really learn and play around with the native plugins.
      But if you really want to get new stuff, here's a short list:
      Serum/Massive (as your main synth - you can even get synthwave presets, if you are new to synthesis, but I encourage you to learn it.)
      Drum Machine Samples (tr-707, tr-808, Linndrum etc. - you can download these for free)
      And if you have some extra money, I'd get a good reverb like Vallhalla Vintage Verb, but fruity reverb 2 would also be more than enough.

  • @bertilbrinch5631
    @bertilbrinch5631 6 лет назад

    Do you do movie soundtracks as well? 'cause if you do i'd like to see you breaking down composers like trent reznors music from movies like gone girl. No idea if that's your kinda thing but yea.

    • @RosentwigMusic
      @RosentwigMusic  6 лет назад

      I don't have as much experience with movie scores as with games, but I do make them and I do love them 😄
      I'm still not sure how frequent I want to do this type of video on my channel (I don't want people to only know me for analyzing and "copying" music from other people, so there probably will be a focus on documenting my own stuff. But maybe I can find a way to combine both of them - maybe focus more on the way I would approach those soundtracks, but while of course explaining what the orignal composer did).
      I do love making videos like this. And I love going deep on the creative process of other composers, but like I said, I don't want to be known as only a "theorist".
      But I will definitely keep Trent Reznors work one Gone Girl in mind (I actually just put his name on my google doc sheet for video ideas 😄).
      Thanks for your suggestion :)
