This was a great race; I remember seeing it live on ESPN; I feel bad for Walter Brun, he ran a great race, but the engine in his 962C let him down; & I feel for Paul Canary, his Eagle 711 GTP never got to set a qualy time, reportedly due to overheating issues; but still a great win for TWR Silk Cut Jaguar
In Gran Turismo 5, when driving the Mazda 787B with a Driving Force GT, it feels like the car is bumping all over the road on Sarthe. Watching this video, I can see that the game accurately recreates what the drivers went through. The only difference is they somehow found a way to stay on the road, where I can't!
@S14VH45 "Driver's Seat", a one-hit wonder by Sniff 'n the Tears in the late '70s. Presumably a cover because the original song is not that electronic and sounds like a cross between Foreigner and The Cars...
blame Jean-Marie Balestre for this one. He's a fucking killjoy. When the chicanes were introduced, there were two HUGE accidents, Jonathan Palmer in qualifying, and a Lancia in the night.
Yes the 23 car was the R90CP built by NISMO in Japan, the 24 and 25 Nissan were the R90CK built by Lola. The 24 and 25 cars were entered under the NISMO marque just like the 23 car and the 83 and 84 Nissan's were the R90CK chassis's but were entered by the American Nissan Performance Technology Inc that was a separate organisation and had no relation with NISMO.
Down with all chicanes!! We'd have had cars doing 300mph by now dammit. Probably not... But still. Booooo chicane. Hoooray 3+mile long straight!!!! Hooray 240mph cars!!! Hooray turbogowhoooshwhooshnshit! We want 1000hp again. We want screaming V12 Jaaaag motors.
@cragmac1000 Hell, I think most of the Le Mans racing coming into the 1990s and especially the 2000s sucks. The 1970s and 1980s were a time full of monstrous and ridiculous cars, Group-C, the Porsche 917, all of that kicks the diesel prototypes of today to the floor.

John Nielsen, the "old" danish Mr. Le Mans...Now a days we got Tom Kristensen!! The Best.
Le centième anniversaire des vingt-quatre heures du Mans !
4:03 that iconic idling sound of nissan
They should make E85 engines and keep doing Group C... i really miss them :(

"Driver's Seat" by Sniff 'n' the Tears
A good attempt by the Repsol Porsche, but Jaguar once again dominates with those V12 monsters!
@arenasnow thank you sir! what would we do without the old timers?

The intro came and I was like fuck yes! Then I typed this, now I'm turning it off.
@emgasu this music is awsome, its a 90s intro, you must be a muslim if your not felling it...
