Kumarji expired on 12th Jan 1992. He was not keeping well for a few days earlier. This particular maifal in Baroda was held on 12th Jan 1991!!! Exactly one year prior to his sad demise.
It is (I think) Kumarji's own bandish describing Shiva's 'Jogi roop' in his wedding procession. Kaan Kundala Awat hai albela Ang bhabhoot Runda maal Gale Biraje kala Jogi ka roop dhare Baithan ko mruga chhala Sheesh jata tana mein dole... Kaan Kundala There are some fantastic insights in to the Nishad(s) of Adana in the last 2 minutes!
10 years before you wrote this for me 😍😍. Listened to Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Saheb's Adana with the same lyrics and was searching for the exact words, but couldn't make it. Thanks for this.
This composition is very traditional and not of Pt. Kumarji. I was very fortunate to have gala time with him for 3 days while he was here in Baroda. One of the best memories to cherish for the entire life.
In fact the original Bandish is composed in Suha Sughrai Raga and the words are Kaal Kundala for the serpent coiled around Shiva's neck. Possibly sung by Master Manhar Barve.
Probably not his own Bandish, particularly the 'Bol' (Lyrics). You can find Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Saheb's Adana with the same composition in one of his live concerts ( part 1 ).
Very proud Indian classical vocalist. Awesome singing!!! He was not supported by Hindustani classical group for his own style and invent of raagas. He would have reached as good as Bimsen Joshi otherwise.
We are proud that such a soul visited this earth from his heavenly abode.
Made spellbound with just a short performance.
This is beyond music. Celestial. Seven minutes of improvisation but with life longer than eternity.
भाई बहुत बहुत धन्यवाद शेयर किया आपने।
पर कान कुण्डला का एक अन्य अवसर पर गाया गया सुना था मैने ... वो अति उत्तम था।अद्भुत था।
Stunning rendition. A Masterpiece by the Master . What else could we expect from Panditji but perfection !?!!
he shows this world how an artist can influence audience with a true love...... no showbusiness, no ego and no wish for publicity
Unbelievable!! What a different approach to a classic raga. Typical Panditji. Awesome 1
PURE BLISS !!!! Thanks Asokan Raju....Please kindly upload more of these...
Whta a powerful Adana! I had heard it live from him in 1978. Never since. Thanks for reviving a very fond memory.
Great as is to be expected from this Creative Genius.

This is a composition of Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan.
Minor nit. It's Vasundhara Komkali on tanpura, not Vasantrao :P
@korektphool Don't worry about him - he has taken it upon himself to critique the work of greats.
