    They are not rubbing it in. If you would like to see what rubbing it in looks like from the Dodgers, please refer to the Yankees.

    Dave Roberts was not trying to rub anything in, guys. I just watched that interview (which is why your video came up in my feed), and that’s completely not the vibe I’m picking up, there. All the analysts had the Padres (and the Mets, and the Yankees) picked, just from a starting pitching perspective. Dave has won 2 champions in LA, guys; whatever negative feelings you’re attributing to him from his personal history, with the Padres, I highly doubt that matters to him now. Now, I don’t personally know the guy, so maybe I am just flat-out wrong, but listen to the rest of that interview (not just the part about the Padres), and I think you’ll see the bigger picture of what this World Series meant to him. San Diego was a part of that path, but it was not the center of his universe en route to that title.

    This is coming from a lifelong Dodger fan, and I have seen many interviews from Roberts. This is definitely genuine respect from him. He is also not disrespecting both NY teams when he says that the toughest team to get through was the Padres. This may have been the Padres team to win it all. National League was super tough this year (even Philly kicked the crap out of the Doyers this season before they tailed off).

    As a Dodger's fan, i'll respectfully disagree with you on the pouring salt in the wound comment. Padres were a much tougher team than the yankees and from what i've seen, he seems to have the upmost respect for the Padres organization that he was part of for all those years. Just my 2 cents.

    The Padres made it too personal. Sure it's a rivalry. But too much peacocking chest puffing and preening. That got the Dodgers going. It's good to have swagger but don't get arrogant. Stuff can and will go sideways.

      @ericradford2142 it's hard to beat a very good team ( 3 hof mvp players), 3 straight games, ps- game 5 was tight, it wasn't a blowout,

  • @charliegone1652
    @charliegone1652 2 месяца назад +4

    SD Padres were tough because they had health, they had the pitching and hitting and defense. Which is why the Dodgers had a tough time with them. Do I think the Padres were the better team in that time, I think they had the pitching staff to beat the Dodgers because the Dodgers pitching was decimated..BUT the Dodgers stepped up when it matter and completely shut down the Padres in games 4 and 5. That's what elite teams do. I think once the Dodgers beat the Padres it felt like they weren't going to lose and they didn't. Also yes the Padres antics didn't do anything positive for them, the Dodgers stayed focused on what mattered and the Padres didn't.

  • @erikhancock98569
    @erikhancock98569 2 месяца назад +11

    If the Padres miraculously somehow beat LA they would have probably come up short against the Mets. That's the kind of thing that happens to SD.

    • @ericradford2142

      @@erikhancock98569 just like against the Phillies two years ago. You may not believe this but had the Padres upset the Dodgers again, they would have lost to the Mets in the NLCS.

  • @luvsla72

    I'm a die-hard Dodgers fan and even I thought the Padres would win that series. Dave Roberts is NOT pouring salt on the wound, he's being honest. Once we got through the NLDS I knew our chances of winning it all skyrocketed. The 2024 Dodgers just had that little extra toughness that had been missing. If San Diego hadn't made the NLDS so personal, I have very little doubt that WS trophy would be in SD right now.

    "The world series was actually against theee YANKEES" .. bruh.. this panel is struggling to see that everyone (even dodgers fans like myself) believes the Padres were a better team than the Yankees. In hindsight I can see the Padres beating the yankees in a world series matchup. Take the respect we give, because it isn't gonna come often.

    How was Roberts rubbing it in?? He legitimately gave you a compliment 😂 he literally is saying that you guys were the toughest team to beat during this years postseason 😂 yall are just hella hella salty, trying to believe that everyone in the Dodgers organization lives and breathes that the padres are always on their minds. Sorry to burst your bubble but they’re not. You guys had the lead in the series, got way too cocky, got blanked for 24 innings and yall lost. Simple as that. Padre fans be tryna grasp on to everything 😂

The problem I have with you cats in SD is that you don't give what you get and your key players always show their ass at the wrong time. Just shut the hell up, execute, and win. How hard can it be to do that?

    the NL were the stronger league while the two hottest teams in the 2nd half were the padres, and mets. in the AL the only problem were probably the astros, o's but they were cut short for an easy road for yankee ws. Padres were stronger than the Mets. the NL teams were stronger than the yankees.

    6:40 Padres never had the Dodgers on the ropes.. A team down 2-1 in a 5 game series is not on the ropes. Many teams have come back to win being down 2 games to 1... Now If Game 4 was competitive in any way then I'd agree. But it wasn't.. Not even in the slightest.
