❣️Jimin’s “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band”, is basically an ever so uplifting, filled with joy & happiness, love song, which Jimin started working on immediately after finishing his 1st album FACE. Since that album was darker, many songs dealing with how he felt during the pandemic. Jimin wanted this song and album to be a uplifting & bright. This uplifting love song filled with joy, happiness song was written mainly for army who he references numerous times, like when mentioning “it started on June 12”, which was the actual debut of BTS where they met army for first time during a performance showcase. BTS official debut performance was next day on June 13. Also in the dance, the choreography, including the one for the dance challenge on tiktok, Jimin is even doing in sign language, the hand signs, for LOVE, while dancing. Also the fluttering hand represents ‘joy’ in Korean sign language. ❤️ 👍🙏🥰☺️
❣ It’s Jimin’s voice doing the intro, as the announcer. Also both Jimin & Loco are singing live, aside from using mics, even wearing ear-ins. Another fun fact is that the “backup band” consists of legendary, genius producer Pdogg, who worked with BTS since beginning as producer & songwriter, also producers GHSTLOOP and EVAN, all 3 also worked alongside with Jimin, who also wrote the lyrics, composed, & helped produce his first solo album, 2023’s FACE, which peaked at #2 on the billboard 200 chart, as well as for MUSE his 2nd album released July 19. During the documentary for FACE, there was even a fun quiz segment where all 4 named themselves Smeraldo Garden Marching Band, which at the time, no one had any idea other then it was just for fun! 👍❤🔥🥰🤩🌟💫✨
The Smeraldo flower is something they came up with in the Bangtan Universe in the Love Yourself era. In the language of flowers, the Smeraldo means "truth untold," because of what happens in the invented myth of the Citta di Smeraldo. It's the same story told in BTS's song The Truth Untold, where a man of questionable birth hides away in a castle alone until a poor woman comes stealing flowers from his garden to sell. He comes to love the woman, but doesn't dare to show his face before her, so he grows the Smeraldo flower to help her, but she never returns. He finds out that she succumbed to her poor living conditions and passed away. For Smeraldo Garden Marching Band, which is what Jimin and his team of producers named themselves after working on Face together, they wanted the concept of a band that delivers truths untold. The name and concept is also loosely inspired by the Beatles' Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
✨JIMIN's "Smeraldo Garden Marching Band" (ft. Loco), was the pre release song, for his 2nd album MUSE, also was one of Jimin’s songs that broke the record for the most streamed k-artist on Spotify, in 2024, before “Who” & the rest of Jimin’s 2nd album MUSE was released. Jimin’s song “SGMB” was the the longest charting at #1 for Korean solo artist on iTunes, also reached #1 on iTunes in 100 countries, very first day, then went to 112 following day, becoming the FASTEST Song to reach this milestone in 2024, before release of “Who”, where Jimin even broke his own record. Jimin's "Smeraldo Garden Marching Band" ultimately achieved #1 in 119 countries making it one of Jimin’s SIX SONGS that reached #1 in 119 countries, FIRST ARTIST to achieve 6 record breaking ALL-KILLS! 🥇🎉also has achieved a remarkable feat, including reaching the #1 spot on the music charts in all of the world's biggest music markets! 🙏👍❤🔥😍🎉 🎉
The Smeralddo flower appears in "The Truht Untold" by BTS, a song based on the Italian tale "La cittá de Smeraldo" - a platonic love of an ugly man who feared declaring himself and ended up eliminating the possibility of experiencing great love. This man created this flower to give to his loved one, but she died first. Jimin's 'Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco)' is a vibrant, high-energy celebration of love and unity. The reference to the 'Smeraldo Garden' can be seen as a metaphorical place where happiness and love flourish daily. The lyrics emphasize the importance of expressing feelings that have been hidden or unspoken. Jimin encourages honesty and openness without hesitation. The song also makes use of visual metaphors, stunning skies and fluttering flowers, to paint a picture of beauty and serenity, like the purity and simplicity of true love. Finally, Jimin calls everyone to celebrate, creating a sense of community and belonging. It's also really cool that the band's musicians are the producers who made their two albums, people who never appear in MVs.
❣️The song, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band, also is in reference, an homage to the Beatles, as well as Beatles album Sgt Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band, which Jimin used as inspiration, even singing lyrics “I want to hold your hand”! An excellent clue already happened in the vid:❣️ “A Day with Jimin in NYC by vogue, (perhaps you might want to react to it), which was basically a behind the scene, filmed during the time Jimin debuted “Like Crazy” on Jimmy Fallon show last yr. same day his album FACE dropped. It showed Jimin, before going to a dance practice, rehearsing Like Crazy for Fallon tonight show, going to a record store, along with producer Pdogg, who worked along side of Jimin throughout both albums FACE & MUSE. where Jimin pulled out that very record by the Beatles Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club album, even holding it up. It seemed sort of unexpected? Now I wonder if it was planted there? Who knew at the time that it was a reference, a hint for telling just how much of an influence it had toward creating this song & MV. 👍🙏❤️🔥🔥😍💫✨
Glad you liked this. This is a track video with the co producers of his solo albums- Face and Muse appearing here. @Abbie pretty much summed up everything about this pre release track of Jimin's album MUSE. Amazing!
There is a released behind the scene: ❣Jimin “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” (feat Loco) Track Video Behind from bangtantv that I recommend for you to react to, that I’m sure you’d enjoy! 👍🙏😍 This is one of the most enjoyable but yet also so informative behind the scenes I’ve seen! It shows once again, just like with everything else Jimin does, including his other MV’s just how hands on, just how much involved Jimin was! Including the concept, imagery, vision, the look he had for the MV! Plus all the ideas he had that he put into play! All the while keeping everything as lighthearted, fun & enjoyable! Jimin even oversaw the filming to make sure the final shoot would meet with his approval! Jimin keeps amazing me more & more, though I shouldn’t be surprised anymore! I mean Jimin writes the lyrics composes melody, involved with producing, then is even hands on, on every level during filming! I’ll be looking forward to your reaction, so you can see as well, what I mean.👍🙏❤🔥😍🌟💫✨
The Smeraldo flower has special meaning and relevance. If there could be an MV of Jimin's birthplace this would be it. This is a part of the Muse project. Again you got to check it out.
They put out performance videos just for fun sometimes. This was one of the projects he made and left behind for after he enlisted. There’s a whole lore in Bangtan Universe involving the Smeraldo Flower. He’s a cutie pie. Everyone else has answered most of your questions. 💜
I dont know if you watch and rract to Jimin's 'Serendipity' live version , Set me Free Pt. 2 , ' Filter' Live version , ' Lie ' Live in Concert , 'Friends ' with V and Promise 💜💜💜💜
I feel like I have an unpopular opinion, but LOCO's part is actually my favorite thing from this song 😅 The song is cute, the MV is gorgeous as you said, but I kinda forget about this song all the time 🤣🤣 Probably because I like the other songs on the album waaay more
