- What is the Dad-Bod Adventures page about?
We are a family-friendly channel for folks like me that aren't quite in their prime, but still love to get out and explore God's beautiful creation. As a family, we love hiking, rockhounding, exploring and just about anything outdoors.
This video is about what to expect from, and a few tips about Crystal Vista, which is located just south of Mt. Ida, Arkansas.
More informational videos of other Arkansas mines will be uploaded soon, as with other neat locations across the US that I have travelled to.
Thanks for watching, and God bless!

This is by far my favorite place to dig. Every time I go, I find several nice crystals. The best part is that it’s free. I live only 30 minutes from this spot.
Thank you for this video!!
Those clusters are phenomenal! Too far for me to walk with equipment but it truly is a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing ❤
Yours has literally been THE BEST video I have ever seen on Crystal Vista. I appreciate the legit look at the hazards, and pros & cons. I just subscribed and will check out your other vids.
Thanks JoeDadBod!! I love this video, very informative and well delivered.
Thank you so much!! This was one of my first videos. :)
Very informative! Thanks so much for this.
You're welcome, Brian!! Have a wonderful rest of your evening!! 😊
I'll have to check that out once established in AR. Thanks for the wonderful video!
It's a beautiful place to visit if you ever get the chance! It can be a lot of work... I think some people may get spoiled on the tailings piles at other mines, then come here expecting to get a lot, and forget that this is now a natural dig site, which means we have to do all of the work to find everything.
Thanks so much for watching, and have a wonderful day today!! :)
Thank you for this video. it has to be one of the best informative videos I've seen. you narrate it well.
Thank you so much! There are a lot of videos out there from various miners and rockhounders. I always feel like I have to do a lot of "homework" to find the site and all of the info for it on my own, so i like to try to provide as much info as I can to make research easier on others if they should want to visit a particular location. I have many more videos to make... it's just trying to get the time to do it! Thanks so much for watching! :)
Beautiful crystals. ❤
Thanks so much! Have you gone rockhounding before?
@@joedadbod8450 No, i don't but i collect crystal from ebay.. haha
Just discovered this channel, can’t wait to see more, I’m trying to get a rockhounding and jewelry channel put together this week
Hello, and welcome! I just got into rockhounding about 3 years ago, and have been pretty hooked. I have a lot more to learn, but it's a lot of fun, and good exercise for this old man. Ha! Thank you for watching, and I look forward to seeing your channel soon!! have a wonderful day today!! :) -Joe
It’s an addicting hobby. We are moving from Pennsylvania to South Carolina so we hope to document our travels & share some knowledge along the way
@@diggingappalachia954 That's wonderful! I hope the transition goes well, and congrats on the move! And yes, it is a very addicting hobby... Ha! I have piles and piles of rocks all around my house! I am planning on doing some sculptures with some of the rocks this spring/summer, Lord willing. :)
I need to do a binge watch of your channel, I am shooting for 2 or 3 videos a week... thanks for the reply,
Gostei muito dó seu canal é sou garimpeiro 🙏
Snakes are venomous not poisonous, venom is injected poison is ingested. Video was a 10 out of 10 loved it cant wait to visit this place ✌
Thanks so much, Jim! Have a wonderful day today!!
I'm really wanting to take this hike. I live about 2 hours from there. I hear there is an area that has blue phantoms up there.
Yes, you can find all kinds of crystals up there. It is a bit of a hike to get up there, and whatever you collect while you are up there, you will have to haul all of the way down too. Crystal Vista is actually one of my favorites mines down in the Mt. Ida / Jessieville areas. I live a little over 3 hours from there, but I enjoy it greatly every time I go. I was toying around with the idea of going this weekend, but I need to see what schedules are like with my kiddos. This Covid thing is messing everything up! Thanks so much for watching, and have a wonderful evening!! -Joe
Have you been to ron Coleman mine? If so is it best to go there or this spot ?
