Looking forward to watching this, I've been trying and failing to use curves WB to trace a 3d scan of an automotive seat foam. This organic shape lofting seems like worth a shot!
Curves workbench is more of a advanced workbench and things can go from zero to 100 in a matter of minutes. Hope this helps you out. There will be a number of lofting vids and exercises in this chapter.
@@MangoJellySolutions Surface modelling is something I've never quite cracked, but I'm trying to preserve a vintage car with 3d scans and modelled parts. Motor parts is fine (typical parametric solids), but the organic dash, seat foams, body panels is really hard. I figure that learning this all once will pay off. I sadly didn't find a paid course, which I would have been happy to invest into! Lofts I think work well for "slices" of a trace, but I struggled mixing perpendicular planes to tie the "ends" of a part together. I like what you did in the boat hull video, but tracking tonnes of helper geometry lines gets exhausting quickly!

Along this subject line, I've been looking for a video detailing the process for hollowing out a lofted shape. For making custom fan ducts that go from a square fan to a circular shape. I can make the solid with a loft, and I can kind of hack my way through making it hollow but I know it's not the right way to do it. If you already have a video that covers this, just respond with the link and I'll go watch it. I have looked but haven't found it if it exists.

Use the Part wb and mirror the body, then, if needed, use the boolean operation in part design wb to fuse it to the body
