Anneke is the perfect example of how to gain beauty as the years go bye. Breathtaking. And as Floor she radiates the emotions from her face. It is like communicating via the "sixth sense". O, sorry, I forgot to mention: she is a more than amazing singer too. Time stops when she is looking at you.

Everything about this is epic. Listen to the range in the vocals and not to mention the melody. It's not to mention that she does an entire music video of her face and it's captivating from start to finish, just amazing. Not only is Anneke beautiful but you can believe she means what she sings.
There are only very few artists that are able to do such a video. Anneke is one of them and it's because she has the charisma and the voice for it. Just brilliant!

I agree. Anneke is perfect. Been listening to her since 1995's Mandylion. I mean no offense, but I have to point out that a certain cancer, possibly started by Michael Bay when he was promoting the crap Transformers 2 movie, has been spreading like wildfire in the English language in recent years. The cancer is to use the combination of a superlative like 'most' and a non-comparative word like 'perfect'. Michael Bay used the expression "Most unique". No! Michael! There is no 'unique', 'more unique' and 'most unique'! *Only* 'unique'. Idiots like him can't speak their mother tongue, and spread expressions that can *not* ever be considered grammatically correct. Please don't get the cancer! Cheers! (I rarely comment on RUclips and even more rarely reply, because I simply don't have the time, but I tend to return to this video about every year, so who knows...)

One of my favorite bands - 'Anneke van Giersbergen' s Tonsils'. Can't wait for their greatest hit cd to hit the stores. Seriously the music she made when she was with The Gathering are unequaled in the annals of artistic cultural works. They should go down in history as superstars, the Rutten Brothers, et al. It was chemistry that made the movie Casablanca' a great film. It was alchemy that made The Gathering circa 1994-2007 unique aesthetic experience...I only recently discovered her/them. It's all I listen to now. (And Jacques Brel and Joy of Cooking.)

A perfect "sophisticated" pop song, great voice and dynamic range, interesting changes, great arrangement, great harmonies, from soft to belting it out, all there! Yes, I admit I am an old rocker who has had a crush on Anneke ever since I saw her perform with DTP. What charisma and range. The entire first half of this album is superb.
Had you seen her fronting The Gathering in the late 90s, when she was 25, all wrapped in a dark and heavy metal sound but tiny Anneke jumping and smiling on stage all the time behind her huge voice... I've seen most European female bands live after that, those who followed the trend, and nothing ever was quite close to that moment.

been in love with Anneke since i was introduced to The Gathering about 14 years ago......sigh.....I was already a huge Devin fan, and actually got to meet him in Portland after the SYL show.....but when i heard they were working together on the DTP......all i could imagine was the perfect storm.

+ComaLies225 This is hardly metal haha. Not like there's anything wrong with that, Anneke's pop/rock stuff is amazing. Devin is pop metal only on a couple records, it's not really -his- sound. And those albums have a lot more influences than just pop music mixed with metal. When I think of a truly pop metal band I think of Amaranthe (whom I also really enjoy).
