The Philadelphia Eagles just made the perfect move by signing CJ Gardner-Johnson to a big contract in NFL free agency, as CJ Gardner-Johnson will now return to the Philadelphia Eagles on a 3 year contract. CJ Gardner-Johnson was great for the Eagles a couple years ago, and now the Eagles sign Chauncey Gardner-Johnson in Eagles free agency, and CJGJ returns to Philly! Also in Eagles news, the Eagles signed Devante Parker to be the new Eagles WR3 in what is a pretty good value signing for the Birds, as Devante Parker still has some ability left. Also, Josh Sweat is seemingly on the verge of being traded by the Eagles, so with Josh Sweat leaving, is there any chance that the Eagles keep Haason Reddick? Also the Eagles lost Marcus Mariota while they signed Matt Hennessy and Saquon Barkley clapped back at the Giants and Tiki Barber. It’s hard to blame sweat for his second half performance. Opposing offenses were targeting our weak LB corps and secondary with quick routes/ passes. Sweat never gave up.

Giants did offer him a contract though. He was offered $13 million and declined. He accepted less money with the eagles.

I’m glad they brought back CJGJ, but I’d have much rather had Queen over Barkley. They got around the same money. It sounds like they wanted a 3 down back for the new offense, but I’m sure there was a much cheaper one without the injury history. Lots of eggs in one basket when LB was clearly the biggest need. Time will tell.

Bro....Nolan wont develop of he stay buried on the depth chart. BG is coming back to. You cant maximize the value of a rookie contract if you dont play him. I love Sweaty J and Hassan....but im also not cool with wasting a 1st round picm because he never got a chance.
Nolan is a very bright guy. He needs to put on 10 to 15 lbs of muscle and he will excel under guys like Fangio and Washburn.
If we can trade a guy like Reddick for Snead and get a top 10 to 15 pick for Sweaty J that we can turn into an LB or DE....im fine with flipping both of them.
I love both of them but we have a log jam at DE amd CB. And it is preventing guys like Smith and Ringo from developing.
The strategy seems to be, draft on defense and spend on offense. But that only works if guys like Sydney Brown, Kelee Ringo, Nolan Smith, Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter and even Eli Ricks and Nakobe Dean develop through experience. And then you have top tier talent on rookie contracts and can afford to have 2 #1 WRs, Top 5 TE and RB, along with a highly paid OLine to protect your franchise QB.
They need to find value somewhere to afford the luxuries.
At this moment, i believe they absolutely need another LB and nickel corner. I dont know what to make of Dean but Im actually OK with Slay, Ringo, Brown, and CJ in the secondary...and if they can swap Slay for Snead I would be ecstatic.
I dont know if they plan to draft an LB or trade for one... but they also need a starting OG if Steen isnt up to snuff and they need to start grooming Lane's replacement at RT.
