      Stacy, not sure if you guys make your own mozzarella cheese or not. If you don't you should, it's easy and you get about 2/3's whey to about 1/3 cheese. Believe me it's easy squeezey. Thanks so much for the Lacto Fermented Blueberries. Curious, do you guys have a gas refrigerator?

    i'm vegan so I'm going try to use kombucha instead of whey. i'll let you know how it works. so excited. UPDATE: tried it with kombucha and it worked. did it exactly how she did in the vid but used kombucha. now lets see how long it lasts in the fridge. UPDATE: lasted 2 weeks in the fridge but we ate them all so we may never really know.

      StarFlower99654 You know, you give me an idea! You can make lacto fermented COCONUT WATER from YOUNG COCONUTS by putting the coconut water in a jar, on the counter for a few days! This Vegan lifestyle can be a challenge to get used to in regards to substitutions. So grateful for the Internet! 👍

    • @1145msm
      @1145msm 7 лет назад +4

      Yes, the question about buying yogurt and how much whey you get out of just one container, was a key point and she was not too sure what he was talking about at first....... 03:45 but yeah, I was wondering how much I need to buy to make one cup of whey. I am so green about all this that if the instructions are not clear, I'm lost but hey you got Doug asking the right questions because he knows what people on the other side of that camera are thinking....thanks, Dough you're the best.....

    A handful of this.

    A pinch of this.
    A teaspoon, tablespoon was by eye in the palm of her hand.

Trying drastically to change my little family's life and hopefully rub off mine and my husband's very sick parents! They each have their problems, one who is worse than the rest. Husband's parents don't want to listen or give up the garbage convenient freezer/frakenfood! 😑 it's like a neverending battle that I guess we can't give up on and just keep talking until we're blue in the face, with many frustrations on both ends!

So I sought on your channel for something with blueberries... Guess what: I just had some whey out of our Dutch cottage cheese, so I gave lacto fermenting those berries a try! No Whey!!I clean my honey mason jar the exact same way. Ill have to try to get some yogurt. here in Nova Scotia, Canada it is known as wild blueberry country. and my 2 girls and I can go on a 30 min walk and gather often 4-8 cups of wild blueberries EASY (though being a forager I know a few "secret" patches a little off the beaten path) this is a great way to make them last longer.

    2023, aren't you glad Mason came up with their fermenting kits?

    I'm surprised how short the fermentation process is for this. Awesome recipe.

    Thanks for the variety of uses, I wouldn't have ever thought to lacto ferment blueberries! I'm just trying my first batch of whey fermenting with cucumbers to make pickles.

    Another great video! I like seeing you conquer the rock vs. lid challenge! Haha! I did have a moment of frustration coz I tried to look up the book & I thought you were saying, “Nursing Traditions” & Half Price Books didn’t find it. So I Googled it & found it immediately. I know it takes time, but if you could put the titles,names,etc., to references in the video that would help so much. We all have accents to some degree; I’m an Okie from Arizona.

    I know you are busy but you really should do a book for homesteading and healthy natural living! The skin dry brushing helped to improve my severe lymphedema which I passed on to my physical therapist and he now recommends it to all patients with lymphadema because it is so effective!
