I work as a deputy sheriff and we have a couple small towns in my county that don't have a town cop. One night I responded to call of a drunk man trying to break into his ex-girlfriends house. Long story short, I ended up getting in a fight with the suspect on the side of the road at 1 a.m. and the suspect tried to take my gun. A lifted truck just happened to be driving by when they suddenly stopped and three guys got out and pinned the suspect down while I cuffed him. Then, they just hopped in their truck and left. No one needed to document the incident on camera. They didn't have to think about what was the right thing to do. They saw a need and met it. Love my community.

I am pretty sure the message he is trying to convey is that the things that people get away with in major cities would not be tolerated in a small town.
Love this... the message is of community and caring. So many of us are tired of the destruction and tearing down of the values that we hold dear. Please keep writing songs like you do that touch people and their lives!

I'm not an US citizen (actually from the Philippines). I stayed in Pisacataway, NJ during my stay in the US back in the early 90s. The folks there showed a strong sense of community. They invite to dine with them during holidays from 4th of July to Christmas. They go to church without fail every Sunday. Several homes proudly display Old Glory, indicating vets live there. This is the America I admire and respect very much. It nay not be perfect but it's still a great country. God bless the USA!

Thank you so much for what you do. I’ve often thought how hard it must be to see people at their personal lowest, and on the worst day of their lives, so often. I think about the things you must have seen. I think about the police officers, firefighters, EMTs, school nurses, ER Physicians, Nurses, etc. - first ones on crime scenes; taking care of a drugged out drunk person’s injuries, while the family his recklessness just killed are in the next room; seeing hungry and neglected children. PTSD is a real thing. Thank you, again, for your dedication and bravery. I pray for you all.
@lanejohnson7656 As of this moment, I am the only person to acknowledge your comment👍🏾. Been a fan of Jason Aldean. I'm black, absolutely NOT racist. I've dated more white men then black in my life. I like the sentiment of the song as I can apply those feelings to my life and my upbringing. We don't have good'ol boys where I come from. Actually a negative term in the black community. We do have OG's. Perhaps they are the same. But I do understand why people are upset.
This song is truth. This is country. Rural people ARE this song. I was raised that way. In Minnesota, when the "peaceful" protests were happening, they headed toward a small town. Everyone 12 & up went to their city limits. WITH a weapon. They stood them down. Not a single singe of fire, no shots fired, no buildings burnt, no one hurt. Ball sacks turned tail & ran. This song is dedicated to those AMERICANS.
I don't understand the controversy with this song. What's wrong with standing up for your town sticking together and not putting up with people's shit..that's the message I heard anyway
Yeah that actually happened. Remember that one time a bunch of white supremist showed up with torches and tried there little "day of the rope" protest.

You have to be kidding me. This is what all the fuss is over. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this song. I think it's 🔥. This is PG-13 compared to all that BS rap. The hypocrisy is unreal!!
CMT made a mistake, this is a pure root of what makes country music what it is. Respect, love for your country, love for your fellow man, and there’s just some things only evil people do. 🎉🎉 congrats on being #1 on iTunes, and at this time #2 on trending for music on youtube. That is no small feat.
The song mentions a town full of good ol boys who look after their own, I guess by handling issues with out having to involve law enforcement, being sung in front of a court house famous for where white, good ol boys, took matters into their own hands and murdered an innocent black person after dragging him through town by a car. No charges were ever filed against the white people that did this horrible thing. So why would anyone sing this song in that location unless they wanted people to make the correlation. If he isn’t racist then at the very least he is trying to make money off people who are racist by sending these types of messages. Which is just as bad.

People in a big city just don't get this song, they have no idea how things are in a small town, I grew up in a small town, and the grapevine travels real fast. They come to a small town and try crap, they won't be doing it for long and they will regret it, a hungry hog leaves only the bones
you don't tend to follow constitutional rulings either, do you? You want to deny the right to a woman's bodily autonomy, but you don't want to follow the rulings regarding free speech? You think that stomping on a flag is not free speech, but threatening strangers with violence is? He says he is willing to break the law and assault somebody, just because they practiced their freedom of speech while stomping on the flag that has abandoned their individual experiences of injustice. assault is assault, and the supreme court decided that defacing our flag is protected free speech under Texas v. Johnson, 491 U.S. 397 (1989). Throw this SOB in jail for making threats to assault and deny a stranger's civil rights..
Yeah well what about breaking into stores, and carjacking? Stomping on the flag is disrespectful, but most prople do nothing anout it, while people who speak out against blm are attacked. All they are foing is stating their opinion.

Omg!! This gave me goose bumps. I am in Canada and I support this song, and this message. I didn’t hear anything or see anything racial in this song or video. What I received from this video and song is, it’s time to stand up! It’s time to fight for our small towns, our cities are countries and take them back. That’s the message I got out of this. Amazing!! Way to go Jason.

This is by far the greatest song Jason has came out with. I love the msg that is being made. I have been waiting for someone to come out with a song like this one, had a feeling it was going to be Jason. God Bless America.

We are all brothers and sisters in this world, I live in a small town and would gladly stand shoulder-to-shoulder with all who want to protect our Freedom and communities.

I stand with you and everybody else on here that understands that we’re not gonna stand for this shit much longer
This song isn’t about race. Most of the rioters were white.. lol

People in a big city just don't get this song, they have no idea how things are in a small town, I grew up in a small town, and the grapevine travels real fast. They come to a small town and try crap, they won't be doing it for long and they will regret it, a hungry hog leaves only the bones
Thank you Jason Aldean!
He had the guts to sing this song when all the cowards just hid. God bless Jason Aldean! 🙏 ❤
It's not real. It's just wishful thinking and republicans way of saying they're better than city dwellers. It's just a propaganda lie.
I don't tend to listen country music often, but I'm here to support Jason #LoveAmerica
you don't tend to follow constitutional rulings either, do you?
Have you ever considered blaming yourself for our problem with domestic terrorism?
Yeah well what about breaking into stores, and carjacking? Stomping on the flag is disrespectful, but most prople do nothing anout it, while people who speak out against blm are attacked. All they are foing is stating their opinion.
Sorry for the misspelling, my auto correct is off
I don’t see a thing racist about this song. He’s telling the truth about small town life. I grew up in a small town and I’m African American. Great freaking song.🤘🏾💯
Right on. How bout just American? I don't call myself French-Irish American..
I'm guessing it’s because he’s at a lynching site where they used to unalive blck people by you know
I live in a small southern Virginia town and we all get along and there is not a citizen here who would not "throw down" to protect any of their neighbor (even one with whom they have had past disagreements). I grew up in the city (Virginia Beach) and city folks are just (sadly) different. Truly, "Round here, we take care of our own!"
If you noticed, when everyone said it was a different race of each coming the crimes, it’s actually prominently white folk committing the crime
@@JustJeph33being Black is being American, he’s just saying his pov
Me too, cheers Canuck!🍻

Fellow Canadian, growing up in a small town always felt safe now I live in a big city and Never Feel Safe!
Take them back from whom, the criminals aren't in charge?
"Lynching and Frame-up in Tennessee" by Robert Minor published in 1946 gives an account of the 1927 lynching of Henry Choate that took place in the building in this video. The victim twice said that Mr. Choate was not the person who attacked her.
@@danielebrparish4271Are you getting paid for promoting your racism?
Loved this song when it came out, I'm in California and it looks like a lot of my neighbors have come around as well. Let's not stop. Thank you all.
Excellent Song!! Reminds me of the good old days when people use to care about one another and look out for each other, big thumbs up from me.
Things haven't changed.
@@jesusrivera521Funny you say that... Stepped away from media and it was obvious most of the reporting doesn't happen round here 🇺🇲
@@jesusrivera521 What planet are you living on? To say that things havent changed. BS. People dont want to get involved anymore. People would rather pass by a wreck than to stop. Not only does this song make me so proud, but this comment section brought tears to my eyes! Im so proud to be in a country where we stand up and fight for eachother no matter the race or nationality! Ill keep fighting for my American brothers and sisters for their safety
Until we go to work then we cut each others throats.and stab each others backs..

I’m French and this music hits hard especially with everything that has happened lately
Heard the same thing is happening in Paris. Good luck. Pray that your country return to normal soon.
Am I missing something? If you're French watching this doesn't the glorification of police crackdowns offend you? Genuinely confused
@@matthewnelson4160 - Have you not heard about riots by certain group of people going on in Paris....The police in Paris are just as woke as any police in liberal cities here.
Thanks Guys. And my country is already well taken unfortunately, we understand each other we are together. 🤝

Small town Texas boy from a large family, and made myself a large family. Gotta get this thought into each and every one of our Grand's minds. Stand up for what's right, and help your neighbor. Yeah, You got it Jason.
Morals and belonging to a community who stand together regardless of creed or colour. Never lose sight of what makes you great America!
Absolutely true. ❤
And yet you support Autocracy coming to America, with today's GOP.
Happy Thanksgiving America- Thanks Jason Aldean for this Wonderful Song
This guy is telling the true facts about a small town, been there, done that. He's not trying to hurt anyone. Just stating facts. Love him.
Wow.. what a great song. When i heard the first lyrics i knew what kind of track i was going to get and it sure delivered!!. America needs a song that resonates like this. ❤
And you credit Jason for this? He sang the song bud he didn't write it. Now Luke Combs wrote 15 of his 16 in a row #1 singles. That is impressive.

Same, and I'm not even American.
Agreed ❤
United we stand. Let's not have another January 6th!! God bless America 🇺🇸
It gave me chills as well. Jason Aldean doesn't live in a small town. He's a untalented artist who doesn't write his own songs and profiting on America's issues. Shame on him. He's a piece of shit. Just like our former president, he's pretending to be one of us when he is not
I live in a small town in Louisiana and this song explains us down here really well
Got to LOVE Jason and what he stands for. Live this song and video. Another great one Jason!!!!!!!
🎶🎶🇺🇸🎶🎶
Just listened to this song and support it 100%. I am from a small town in Arkansas that Jason Aldean is very familiar with. Yes, don’t try to pull that stuff here. I advise you to not! Good for you Jason Aldean, keep up the good work and remember there are more for you than against you.
Fellow Arkansan here! I agree!
Im from a small town. I have found out over the years that these small town values ya'll talk about. Its just a front. Ya'll are racist hypocrites behind closed door. Thats why ya'll never say anything about the January 6th rioters who did exactly what Jasin Aldean's song talks about..
I've lived in a small, ultra-republican town my whole life and I promise, if I wanted to burn a flag I'd be totally fine lol. There aren't conservative patrols strolling the streets demanding that all people have Blue Lives Matter bumper stickers.
Here representing WPS country also…..love the song and the fact he’s got courage of conviction to stand up…..hope it makes people think and be proud of our small town values taking care of our own.
Everybody thinks like you where you live. Stop fear-mongering. Cops sometimes do bad things and it is a real problem. People are mad because people like you ignore the bad things the police do. I swear that conservatives only care when they have a personal anecdote on the issue.
I love watching artists write songs like this! Good job, well done! There are several of them, and I admire their bravery. This took guts. They had to know what they were up against.
So brave
He didn't write it
@@granth5210but he did decided to record it, tying his name to it! He believed in it. So go somewhere else with that Bandwagon crap!
@@alissaalbritton_😂
@@alissaalbritton_ Its amazing to me that you could deduce that I was on some sort of bandwagon when all I said was that he didn't write it. It was just a simple correction to the original commentor. Thanks for jumping in - glad you "did decided" to do that.
I could've corrected the comment on several other aspects like how she said she loves watching artists write songs. Did she watch them write the songs or just perform/sing the songs? Or the fact that being paid millions of dollars to perform a song that would absolutely only appeal to his supporters took bravery and guts.
But hey, that's just bandwagon stuff I guess.
I'm ready to serve and protect this beautiful country
I am born & raised in NYC. However, I have grown to love nature and small town people standing up for one another. I am a fan of this song.
Listening to this song is like saying you support a criminal Government that kidnaps, rapes and kills people for their nonviolent activity, but don't support any resistance to your corporate oligarchy
I'm in LA , feeling the same
Would your neighbors come to your defense? Protect you? Or stand up for you? Or would they just watch what happened to you? I moved to the city, then moved back to a small town. So I'm just curious?
I agree. Was also born and raised here in NYC, but I respect the close knit small town mentality where people watch eachothers back and have their opinions about what’s wrong with the world these days. I’m not even into country music but I respect and appreciate the brutal honesty in the words spoken. I applaud you Mr. Aldean.
😂😂😂 I especially love the footage of Germany and Canada 🤦🏻♀️
Not my style of music but fully support the message of this song and would rather see music like this topping the charts than half naked twerking and the advocation of violence, drugs, crime and promiscuity that’s in every single song released these days.
We have a very similar attitude to the lyrics of this song where I’m from in the north of England in a small working class town and we are getting similar happenings in this country too. I will not just stand for it when it comes to my home. I’ll dig my heels in the ground and give blood if I have to.
The Midwest and the south of the US are very similar in mindset to us in the north of England. Tough, salt of the earth, hardworking, loyal, all about family, lots of common sense and not people to be messed with. Lots of love from your brother across the pond! ❤🇬🇧🇺🇸
❤🇺🇸🇬🇧
❤ Right back atcha!
This song is literally advocating for gun violence in an eye for an eye type way...
Not just the mid west & south of the US, theres a lot of us folks in the South West too, except for the majority of the cesspool known as California.
@@heatherlindell6366how about mess around and find out. We need more of this, not less...
I was raised in a major city, but I moved to a small town for a job. In the city, when there is a car accident, most people keep driving, 1 or 2 might stop to call 911, the other week there was an accident on our small town main street, EVERY CAR stopped to help, within minutes, the volunteer paramedics were on site... We have a town square were anyone can protest or demonstrate and we have our fair share of liberal idiots, but we do all of this peacefully. In the end, we still talk to each other even if we disagree on some particular points. Small towns are where real Americans live.
WOW im from KALAMAZOO TOO SMALLL NONE OF THIS TAKES PLACE.. ITS IN MICHIGAN!! AND THEY DO NOT BAND TOGETHER UNLESS ITS BLACK or WHITE.. SO THIS SONG DOESNT RESONATE NON BIAS...THEIR OWN AINT BLACK... SO COOL TRY THAT IN KZOO YOU WANT MAKE IT TO I94

Amen. I live in a small town as well and I would love for rioters to just try it and see how quick they are shit down!!
@@rahcooper2911 ".. SO THIS SONG DOESN'T RESONATE NON BIAS...THEIR OWN AINT BLACK..."
That's "aren't," not "aint." Oh, and "Baptist" is spelled with one "B".
People keep driving because of congestion, among other reasons. Big cities have official resources that small towns don't have. I'm so sick of this small-town virtue bullshit. Small towns are hell holes of repression, backstabbing gossip and bigotry.
