I just got a camper yesterday and this process, specifically setting up the backup camera, blew my mind. I didn’t know I needed my truck’s headlights on. I also couldn’t get the camera scan function to work in the “add an accessory” tab. Thank you so much for this video. You really helped me!
I've tried and tried this is not easiest process on backup camera. Finally got my cell phone connected to the RV part that works great. Then dead in the water on the camera couldn't get it to pair keep saying unable to join. Thanks for the video very informational.
I just purchased my 2022 Forest River Alpha Wolf Cherokee, was able to get the RV connected, but am having the same exact issue getting the backup camera paired. It keeps saying, “Unable to connect to network.” Who can help? The Camping World people didn’t have a clue, and referred me to Lippert for help. Any suggestions?
Aw man, I think you could of resolved my issue. I've tried everything and I'm pretty sure that I kept trying to enter that long number under the ID, which I thought was the password. It makes sense now and I'm definitely trying when I get in from work tomorrow. It will be almost dark but a lot more time than if I tried now. Very informative video, even for a beginner like myself. I'll get back to you after actually trying. Thanks in advance because I'm sure that's the problem
Nobody has ever explained that it’s a “backup” camera though I’ve always referred to them as such…without knowing there was a difference. My old Furrion “backup” camera actually worked quite well at highway speeds but did have the tendency to blink in and out. Nearly every review I read about them complained of that. Guess there’s a number of folks in the dark on that one. Also, I’m glad you have been unable to do the scan thing to add an accessory. InSight “backup” camera and TireLinc, nope. Lippert has gotten a whole lot better from 9 years ago, and I’m not that bright, but trying to follow their directions makes me feel even dumber. Thanks for the video!
@@KeystoneRVCenter I did get the camera to work but not without the factory getting involved. They replaced it! Seems there may have been shenanigans at the dealership? The QR code I was supposedly able to scan that would get me hooked up didn’t. The tech asked me to take a picture of the label on the camera, but there wasn’t one. They (Grand Design) expedited a new one and bingo, bango, bongo. And, the Lippert camera does just fine while I’m driving down the road.
My new Alpha Wolf has an Insight camera from LCI doesn’t stay connected when I walk my phone to my truck. The trailer is 37.5 feet long, hopefully the engineers thought of this distance when engineering the cameras…. Still waiting to here what LCI says
Thanks for the reply. It’s been over a week and I haven’t heard from either Forest River or LCI. So far my customer service experience has been far from good. Makes me really worry since this thing is new and this is probably not going to be the only time reaching out to them for a warranty issue.
How to you change from wifi to bluetooth to use the camera. My wifi signal was very weak outside from my house modem, but I eventually did get it to work. I thought you could get the camera to work from bluetooth, but not able to so far. I do have lights on and tried to pair.
I would be interested in an OBSERVATION camera system; which sys would you recommend? Enj'd your explanation, Junior. Can't u'stand WHY Red Bull hasn't signed up for sponsorship?!?!?!?!?!? Y'all Be Safe!
I got the camera connected but it won't stay connected during travel. Always loses connection and doesn't reconnect without restarting the app. Not something you can keep doing over and over while traveling.
@@KeystoneRVCenter What? Why not? That makes NO sense. I've got my cam hooked up, and it's connection is so spotty, I would consider the cam almost worthless. It constantly locks up.
We have a lippert back up camera on our 2023 GD 311 BHS, but no sticker on our display panel with the info, or password. We have checked everywhere. Thoughts on what to do now?
ABSOLUTE FIX, NOT ON THE VIDEO BUT SHOULD BE - your wife needs to be on like he said, but it must be connected to the CAMERA (not your home network or any other network) The network name will be the same as your SSID!!!!! So if your at home and your house network is set to automatically connect, you need to manually change it to the INSIGHT_XXXXXX network. That will only show if your vehicle is on and connected to the RV and your lights (mine work with running lights) on! Oh and the phone asked me if I wanted to connect knowing there is no internet. Yes you do!
I just brought home a 2022 cherokee grey wolf, how do you connect the camera if you dont have the sticker? I was able to connect to the panel by pairing my bluetooth but cant connect to the camera. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
New type of system I need to do a video on it again as the changed some stuff. I will be doing one after Sept but if you call in the dealership I will try and help you. If I am not free leave a message I will call you back 800-232-3279 -JR
The camera uses wifi just to shoot the signal. Better range then bluetooth. Your wifi has to be turned on but it does not use cell data or require internet connection -JR

Thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks. I wasted almost hours of my life trying to get the back up camera up. I appreciate it.

Some phones you have to goto your wifi settings and connect to the cameras wifi on your phone. Then go back into the app and connect that way

We did out Grey Wolf with this system some months ago. It is really nice to have. Worth doing the app download and using.
I do like it

Have you had a service department start a warranty claim on it yet or just contacting customer service?

I have a question do I need to buy the monitor for this camera, or will it work on tablet or phone using one control app?
So what camera do i need for the lippert one control app. 2023 Grand Design 260RD Reflection
Did they change the app? Mine doesn't look anything like this and is just awful.
Yes they did I am going to have to do another video because this stuff is ever changing

Hmm. Furrion still calls it a “backup” camera.

It is for backup only. Not designed for highway uses

Check the camera itself sometimes they have a backup sticker on the camera

I searched all over my 2023 GD, found the stickers in the bag that has all the paperwork in it.
