She inspired Jamila Salimpour, mother to Suhaila. Jamila, born in Sicily had his father traveling by sea for work. He bought Tahia Carioca films and his daughter learned by this. When Jamila' s family moved to US, Jamila learned english at school. Once adult she become a BellyDance star in an age where, in western countries, this was a rather unusual/rare thing.
