I don’t tend to comment on videos, but this was the first guided playthrough I ever did, I’ve since played through them all, but I’ve come back to this one as I finally got to level 99, also only 18 left on the grail. Couldn’t have done it without your videos. Thanks for it all, MrLlamaSC.
Tiny details MrLlama didn't tell: At level 6 there is a small chance that belts (room for 12 pots) are sold. Gambling for them refreshes Gheed faster than it is to use a wp or run out of town and back in. Paladin needs the least amount of pots so this is more useful anywhere else but here :D When you get Holy Fire, a scimitar is always better because most of the damage comes from the fire and scimitar can have 2 sox which is useful for Steel runeword or poison or cold dmg and has the highest attack speed, so always check for it when you're shopping. Scimitar needs 21 dex which is 1 more than the Paladin starts with. Putting the first 5 point into dex pays off double. Holy Fire works on a bow as well, which is fun and safer, but slightly slower and when you're lvl 12 you can't zeal with a bow, but at level 15 you _could_ have a Raven bow that has splash dmg and the fire from Holy fire also adds to that splash, making that bow the best weapon in the game for a Holy Fire zealot and _if_ you have it, it's effective until about half way through nightmare, so respeccing around lvl 20 is then respeccing around 26-30. Hammers suck in maggot lair, so keeping the Raven until after that is a good idea. If you're super lucky you even have a Twitchthroe armor that gives increased attack speed and strength and dex enough to use the bow but can only be equipped at lvl 16 or higher. Cow King in normal has a fairly high chance to drop Death Set. The Death sash cannot be frozen and the gloves give 30 increased attack speed if you also have the belt. Obviously this isn't as useful if it's your first character and you won't be zealing for long anyway, but if you already have an MF sorc, it might be worth it to pick up the partial set for new characters. It also gives 10 all res and some life steal. If you don't have this, bloodfists will be a nice find along the way. 10 increased attack speed and 40 life and I think 30 faster hit recovery which the death set doesn't have.

Paladin just reminds me of college. He was my highest lvl at the time and I spent many nights staying up way too late pounding beef as fast as possible on my zealdin. Missed it live last night but I'm glad I can watch it now.
tried my first guided playthrough and followed along and i honestly really enjoyed it. would love to see more of this with ressurected. love your content. thank you sir

Hey I just wanted to tell you llama I really appreciate your videos bro. I just started playing Diablo recently about a week ago. I'm 33 years old and I haven't played this since my freshman year of high school lol. Me and my friend would come home and play Diablo and I was a paladin and he was a barbarian and we both saw the whole game. Well we grew up and we stopped playing but we always talked about playing this game again so I decided to download it and you're the only RUclipsr that seems like you have a head on your shoulders with something inside of it LOL. Great content very professional
So pleased you made this llama!! Am farming bugged Andarial on hell with my Javazon at the mo and watched all three or your videos all the way through which were so informative... Several times actually as you are super quick!!! Keep up the good work and thank you!
This was very rewarding to play through with your guide. I followed this along on bnet and killed hell baal. This was much more fun than sitting in trist runs...tomb runs..etc being passive and leaching exp. Can't decide which guide to play next.
So glad I found this, I use to play this back in the day and am so excited for the remaster. Never really used rune words wasn’t ever sure how to use them. This video is extremely helpful can’t wait till the 23rd to start on my hammerdin
A year ago I picked up D2 for the first time in 15-20 years or so and am slowly playing up different classes and gearing up. I'm a casual player so it's pretty slow, but that also keeps it from getting boring with the farming. Would love to see you play this character to ubers with cheap gear. I've never tried that content and would love to see how it could be done. Incidentally i'm playing my paladin through Nightmare these days. Your videos have taught me a lot about the game I never knew when I was younger and D2 was at its peak.
Hey llama not sure if you knew this but arcane sanctuary has a tell. 75% of the time is up. If not up its down. If you can figure out why you will be laughing because of how simple it is. I’ll give you a hint. Character level. One more hint odds and even. Cool to see someone rip a game I used to play religiously. Awesome content
justin jones can’t tell if you’re joking or not because people have literally gone into the files of the game and we know that the Arcane Sanctuary really is a true random generation
I started following you right after Blizzcon - I dont really have use for your guides or videos - i dont play Diablo 2 anymore - but it is so very calming listening to you man - and I love the long 4 hour videos :) Keep it up !
Thanks for making these walk-throughs! I played D2 many years ago and enjoyed it, but I was only able to complete the game all the way through hell with a couple characters. I didn't know how to make the best use of skills with other characters. Now I want to get the game again and try the paladin, assassin, sorceress, and necromancer for sure. I've also picked up so many other tips, like useful rune words that are relatively easy to get, proper use of a mercenary, and the fact that I don't have to try to kill every monster! I also didn't realize that things like teleport charges could be used by any character, not just the sorceress. I'm looking forward to getting back into the game with some better knowledge.
i never liked streamers, i thought it was stupid.... then I started playin d2 again and found Mrllama. while i still think most streamers are stupid, what Mrllama has created with these guides is truly awesome Thank you.
Oh, this is how you're supposed to play the game. I just killed everything that passed my way and also only once. I had no clue about where to put in attribute points and what skills to unlock so I divided them evenly. After 3 days of playing for 2-3 hours, I'm still in act I and haven't even entered the tower yet :D Several years ago a friend convinced me to play D2, but my paladin didn't survive act 3 - he wanted me to play on hardcore. Well, after the paladin was screwed I quit the game and turned to others. But now in spite of D2 - Resurrected I wanted to give this game one more shot to prepare for the revamp. Thanks for the helpful tips anyway and hope to see you stream/yt Resurrected when it is released :)
Great guide, particularly as a new subscriber returning to the game. My only comment in all seriousness is that streaming live on twitch with all the sub comments in the background just make the guide confusing. For the speed runs I've found it hilarious but as a guide with the intention to learn tips, remember stuff and to lock in rune combos etc the background comments are not only a distraction but make it really confusing as its pretty much impossible to hear what you're saying clearly. For me it comes down to - is this a guide for new followers to help them, or just a banter stream for the regulars? heckling a mate while the present isn't cool. Anyway, love the pace of what you do, the approach and the tips are so helpful but I wouldn't come back to check something on a 4hr stream when i have to fight to filter out the background distractions. Not meant to be a criticism of you, it's really not. Really pleased to have found and be enjoying your content.
I have to agree. I know Llama has his schedule to Twitch, but the background comments, while hilarious, distract so much for the people that really want the guide. It'd be best if he did these videos tottally offline. Or mute the donations at least.
Whenever I get to really important things I pause donations, but ya sometimes I end up trying to talk over. Depends the day unfortunately and I don't really have time to create things fully offline so I just need to work on pausing that stuff more while I talk through certain things.
I've been listening to this while I'm at work in preparation for tonight and the pounding twitch comments had me properly lmao'ing. Thank you 🤣🤣 Also, the video was actually full of useful information. I was playing d2 from launch and I'm quite embarrassed to admit that i didn't know I could heal my Merc with shift!
Bro i know i am noob when it comes to gaming, but honestly, i am playing this game since past 5 years. Not continously of course but i have never killed diablo. He always gets me and I haven’t completed the story ever. And you made it seem so easy! This just blows my mind🤯
Thanks for giving the 3 chippies re-roll recipe. I remember back during version 1.09 cubing a champion sword so many times until I finally rolled a pretty good cruel champion sword of quickness. 298 ed. Good times.
After a several year hiatus, I think I might pick up D2 again Used to run a fanatic zealer that soloed Ubers at 89 😁 Thanks for the content Lama, you are the gold standard for anything D2
Just a warning to anyone following this now you might want to check what the hammerdin skill actually looks like/does. Spent a few hours with the class and was having fun, but when I started using the hammerdin skill i'm just running in circles trying to hit stuff. Great video regardless
Please keep doing this series for all classes (especially Necro). I love getting your unique insight and encyclopedia of knowledge in a playthrough form.
I played Diablo 2 & LoD when I was kid, when it first got out. I really enjoyed the game, and got sucked into the lore and the tone of the game. I was playing just for the story to see the cinematics and finished the game on normal. I've always liked this game but I never played like for the endgame, to get really cool loot or endgame gear. Now after like 10 years I'm getting this Diablo itch and find your RUclips channel which is a godsend. As you said, if you really want to learn this game which is pretty complex in my opinion nobody will teach you. In the guides they say about endgame gear, I have a friend who has this client of 1.13c which is modified and he offered to boost me, but I really want to learn this game from scratch. So I bought the game and the expansion and I really enjoy your playthrough. I've subscribed to your channel. Please make more of these videos. You should teach Diablo 2 in like a University i swear. You like give the best advice. I feel like i'm in school but learning about a really cool subject, and i'm really interested. How many years did it take you to learn all these things ? Thank you so much for the time and effort you put in these videos !
PS: When I first found you on RUclips you had the speedruns guides which I enjoyed and tried to learn from those but this is far better. It's slowed down so if you're like a newbie to D2 this is the way to learn. I hope you do all of the characters and teach us what are the advantages and disadvantages of the classes, what gear is best for what characters and also are runewords better than unique elite sets for endgame, what's your take on this ? Also what do you think about the lore in this game ? Thank you !
Almost finished the Paladin on normal (only Nilathak left). This is my first time I really Play this Class and I got to say "Holy Shhi.....eld, this one is completely nuts!". Did play a few chars through normal already but this one was almost too easy. Only thing i skipped was the last wave before Baal, everything else was just a walk in the park (a few fire immunes took a bit longer of course). Thanks alot for this guide, thanks for all the positive energy that stacks up while watching this. ❤
ive played d2 for 20 years and i had no idea you could castrate enemys. and was even more stunned to hear u can get gear to help with an even faster castrate. good data thanks Llama.
Really enjoy these videos. Only played this game for a short time a long time ago, my kids (who are fully grown adults and have graduated from college now) used to play it and would annoy me requesting that I buy them gear online..which I did. I tried playing it once but I was clueless and got annoyed and quit on hell difficulty. These videos are showing me where I went wrong with the builds... Would make summoner necros with massive strength.. That kind of silly stuff. Thinking of buying the game and giving it another shot.
hello , somehow randomly i ran into ur videos , thank you very much for bringing me the nostalgic memories . it was my childhood game - D2 , you made me reinstall it
An active spreadsheet or word doc while teaching would be very helpful. Especially for talents/ skills as you level up before hammer. Or really just a theoretical general guide for where to throw your stuff as you level and when you should respec. If this already exists I apologize for the comment
God bless I cannot wait for Diablo II Resurrected! I’m subbing your channel now so I can refresh on my char builds! Remember when “rushing” was called “power acting” god the old days were so much fun and getting to relive that feeling with my friends and new players again!
I respecced to hammerdin at level 18 and I wish I had waited until 30. I found the starting area in Act 3 to be difficult for the hammer. Maybe it's bad luck but the drops in the Spider Forest and Flayer Jungle have been paltry. The two spider caves are close quarters with structures blocking the hammer. Thanks for the video.
Not gonna lie, I honestly love the Twitch comments in your streams. So many of your viewers comments had me laughing this whole video. Never change Llama, never change.
Yo, my channel is dedicated to this "guided playthrough" style playthroughs of games and you better believe I am studying up on all MrLlama's content to prepare for Diablo2. A true pro knows and studies other pros. THE BEST D2 content known to man for years homie. WP!
Why there're no ads in this VIDEO? You should start adding man , such a good content for free. I learned so much things which i didnt know for last 20 years LOL
I don’t know why I wasn’t subbed. Your d2 videos are awesome. I’m going to get a cheap pc and install LoD again. This game is still the best. Also the comments are hilarious xD. Anyway I can’t wait to load this game up and rush ‘stealth’ ‘steel’ ‘lore’ then get that tasty ‘ancients pledge’ or ‘rhyme’ on my paladin
If you've got the mana, charge can be a really fun skill to have just to attach to left click and hold down shift. Kinda funny watching your paladin just zip around the map.
Great guide! It get's a bit muddy around the 3hs+, I think the speed runner takes over and I got lost. Ended up just doin my own thing. Not sure what to do with the Anya and Larzuk
Thank you so much for continuing to put out such fantastic, informative, and entertaining content! I am very happy that you decided to continue on with each of the classes. Keep up the great work! 😊
I haven't finished the amazon hell video, but this is the one I was waiting for! This is going to end up making me buy d2 again (damn you lost old cd keys)
Conversion is awesome. You can bank minions (I can't remember the number cap) and they also provide excellent interference and distractions, allowing you to evade, escape or regroup. And it's just funny.
Mr.llama i dont have twitch account. See your streaming alot, and you are 100% One of the best streamers in this game, have learn so must just watching your guides om RUclips. Keep up the good Work, must love from denmark. Peace👌

A year later, I'm watching every guided playthrough. 20 years, just when I got out, Diablo 2 pulled me back in!
Okay, speed runs are awesome. But I think it's cool that you are just playing, chilling, and teaching your viewers about the game.
Big up for 4 hours of watching how mobs get hammered and pounded.
As a paladin, do you feel like you get asked to stay a while and listen over and over again?

Man ive been playing since the early 2000s and I still learn a ton from your playthroughs. Awesome content as always!
i never liked streamers, i thought it was stupid.... then I started playin d2 again and found Mrllama. while i still think most streamers are stupid, what Mrllama has created with these guides is truly awesome
Thank you.
You and everyone who talks like this and enjoys it are fuckin idiots.
@@yauker its not His problem if you got a shi* life dumb** . Stay off youtube or every social media and please for fu** sake , go get some help. 💯🤮
@@yauker go away.
Been listening at work, watching during breaks. That's a lot of pounding even for a D2 vet mine me! XD
@@yauker why you so mad bro
Bro i know i am noob when it comes to gaming, but honestly, i am playing this game since past 5 years. Not continously of course but i have never killed diablo. He always gets me and I haven’t completed the story ever. And you made it seem so easy! This just blows my mind🤯
Thanks for giving the 3 chippies re-roll recipe. I remember back during version 1.09 cubing a champion sword so many times until I finally rolled a pretty good cruel champion sword of quickness. 298 ed. Good times.
Okay, I just found this series. Wow Llama, you keep stepping up your game. D2 for life!
I like twitch trolling, but I also like watching people teach me how to play very old games, so I'm not the best judge. Subbed.
I like the speed run videos but I can't really keep up with what you're doing most of the time. I needed a set of videos like these, thanks allot!
Well over a thousand hours in the game and I never knew you could give a Merc a potion by holding shift... You're a champ, llama.
Came for Llama, stayed for the pounding.
man seeing these videos makes me want to play this again for the first time since 2001
After a several year hiatus, I think I might pick up D2 again
Used to run a fanatic zealer that soloed Ubers at 89 😁
Thanks for the content Lama, you are the gold standard for anything D2
Just a warning to anyone following this now you might want to check what the hammerdin skill actually looks like/does. Spent a few hours with the class and was having fun, but when I started using the hammerdin skill i'm just running in circles trying to hit stuff. Great video regardless
Please keep doing this series for all classes (especially Necro). I love getting your unique insight and encyclopedia of knowledge in a playthrough form.
Stay 4 hours 2 minutes and 37 seconds and listen. Dont mind if i do!
Dude instalike here! i really enjoyed amazon Playthrough, i'll follow paladin guide now) thanks
Thank you !
As a streamer do you feel like you hear the same questions, over, and over, and over again?
I think he already answered this question many many times...hahaha
Io dol io dol io dol io dol io dol.
As a commenter do you fell like you ask the same questions, over, and over, and over again?
@@mr.voidroy6869 Last time I "fell" like I asked a question it hurt
Why "io dol" and not "dol io"? My inner necro is cringing 😝
I love to watch theses on youtube, while i clean my appartement.
Thanks llama!
1:08:00 - explain the Steel "TirEl" Rune Words on weapon, why it is good.
2:28:00 - level sheet
3:05:00 - Act 5
Hi. Because of this teaching video I was able to make my first "Steel" and you earned another sub! thank you so much for this!
ive played d2 for 20 years and i had no idea you could castrate enemys. and was even more stunned to hear u can get gear to help with an even faster castrate. good data thanks Llama.
Awesome, I started a Paladin HC character last week, my first HC character. Let me watch!
Wouter Jonker I made hc baba, died at lvl 47, damn nm archers, good luck to you.
Just wow! Thanks for helping new players with these guides, you rock Mr. Llama
I am watching this instead of any movie. This is AWESOME
hello , somehow randomly i ran into ur videos , thank you very much for bringing me the nostalgic memories . it was my childhood game - D2 , you made me reinstall it
An active spreadsheet or word doc while teaching would be very helpful. Especially for talents/ skills as you level up before hammer. Or really just a theoretical general guide for where to throw your stuff as you level and when you should respec. If this already exists I apologize for the comment
Actually big help. Thank you for doing this!
I really want more of these with the new D2R. Loved these playthroughs.
God bless I cannot wait for Diablo II Resurrected! I’m subbing your channel now so I can refresh on my char builds! Remember when “rushing” was called “power acting” god the old days were so much fun and getting to relive that feeling with my friends and new players again!
Omg yes! I was really hoping paladin was next. Can’t wait for the NM and H videos!
I learned that squirrels fail to recover 74% of nuts buried! Thank you!
Thanks for the video.
i absolutely love this series and i am getting very excited for the ladder reset when i play along side for the second time.
I am really learning a lot from watching this. Havent played the game in 15 years.
Not gonna lie, I honestly love the Twitch comments in your streams. So many of your viewers comments had me laughing this whole video. Never change Llama, never change.
For me the comments are horrible, I really wanna watch these guides but the constant barrage of text to speech makes it impossible to watch.
Dude love the videos. You handled the non stop pounding jokes like a champ. I subscribed on both. Keep the videos coming. Love the break downs!
I got ads lol
I don’t know why I wasn’t subbed. Your d2 videos are awesome. I’m going to get a cheap pc and install LoD again. This game is still the best. Also the comments are hilarious xD. Anyway I can’t wait to load this game up and rush ‘stealth’ ‘steel’ ‘lore’ then get that tasty ‘ancients pledge’ or ‘rhyme’ on my paladin
If you've got the mana, charge can be a really fun skill to have just to attach to left click and hold down shift. Kinda funny watching your paladin just zip around the map.
Can't wait to watch all of these been loving em brother, started my hammerdin and it's nutty good
I swear 90% of the reason I watch Llama is the entertainment of his chat trolling him
Came for the great content, stayed for the even better TTS
Just here to learn for d2r. Thank you for making this guide. I love your content 💜
Man, MrCamel wouldn't shut up about pounding hahaha I was following along in the stream but got so behind, thanks for the great videos
i'm genuinely gonna buy cheerios because of this playthrough
I haven't finished the amazon hell video, but this is the one I was waiting for! This is going to end up making me buy d2 again (damn you lost old cd keys)
Do it! It's really cheap.
This is my favorite Diablo character. I love the warrior type unit, especially with sword snd shield fightstyle!
Peace👌
