I can't tell you how much I love the picture of you and your dog on the van with the mountains in the back round! My little guy is my best friend and I am so lucky he shares his life with me!
Traveling into the U.S. with pets is so much easier than flying out to most other countries. I work at a vet clinic and we just completed health certificates to Germany and Australia and they require so many things within a certain amount of time, ranging from blood work to different testing. I like how informed you were as a pet owner, that is soooooo important. Always love your videos! Stay safe!
This is awesome information! Those pictures at the end made me teary. ...we love our dog so much and truly try to take her everywhere with us. We are not world travellers but she loves camping and going on long day trips, as well we never stay in a hotel that won't accommodate dogs. Enjoy your travels Occy!
You guys have a winning formula down. Great looking couple, interesting and full of life Occy is a handsome fella! Really happy to be here at the start of this journey!
Hey guys great information!👏VanLife is such a happy life for dogs, ours absolutely love being in the van and we can all see how Happy your pup is too❤️❤️
That’s so great you brought Occy along for the journey, you can tell by his sweet little face he loves it and y’all! I love the organization and breakdown of your videos! Another beautifully done video!
Can you please start taping your travels and day to day adventures? Some or even alot of us will never see these places for ourselves. I enjoy your expense travel info, however I for one would like to see your lives on the daily. Thanks the daily. Thanks
Hi Irene, first of all thanks so much for your feedback! I'm glad you brought up this point. We were actually waiting on getting some new camera equipment before started to film our actual travels. The good news is we now have it 😊 so you expect to start seeing more and of our current adventures!
Max, you will probably never see this video as it is 2 yr. old... I actually missed it somehow and was looking for a video this Sunday night as I know Occy is coming home to you in Australia any day now. So so glad you use Jet Pets, I have used a similar company here in the U.S. and it so worth it! Well, I feel so much better for Occy - now- I can sleep. glad he will be with you soon. Van looks great by the way...
Cheers guys. I'm planning on taking my dog with me on an overseas assignment, Melbourne to Thailand. Your positive experience bringing your dog with you has helped put me at ease.
I am from the US and I'm married to a Kiwi. I think most everything you mentioned is similar going the other way. We exported our 4 King Charles Spaniels from California to Auckland. We were living in Baja for 3 years before leaving Minneapolis and it was time for hubs to go home and I was all in to move to NZ. Funny the name of our exporter was Jet Pets too. idk if they are affiliated or not. Anyway hearing how Occy had to take 3 planes is a bit stressful sounding, but at his age I am sure he endured, just like my babies did. Only point here is, multiply those costs by 4, add on the quarantine in NZ and oh boy. It cost more than our airfare and our container with all of out worldly goods + processing my Visa to get our dogs there. Oh well...I really think you did a great job explaining this process in reverse=) Thanks guys!!
My friends and I have Bouviers des Flandres. One friend in New Zealand imported a pup to show from my friend in California and after a 6 mo quarantine he became a big winner. Another friend does Obedience with her Bouviers and the pup she imported began his education and training while in quarantine and when he was released he was already bonded to mum and ready to kick butt at trials.
I recently got my puppy Tyson. He is now 4 months old and I am planning to take him over to the Caribbean from Switzerland. I am looking into all the possibilities. Thank you for sharing.
Max, Lee and Occy... I accidentally viewed you video and i instantly loved you guyz... I'm watchiing all your videos and honestly... i just love you guyz... you both are good souls...
Hi guys. Only discovered your site a few weeks ago and am now binge-watching all your videos. I thought Occy was cute before, but my God he was adorable as a puppy. And I love the way you can see the bond all 3 of you have. I'm jealous of your travels and can't wait for every new video. Stay safe and enjoy - life is so short xxx
Hi Max & Lee + Occy, I discovered your channel two days ago and I already love you. You are so humble, authentic and give me such a positive vibe that now I’m obsessed with your life, your journey and your beautiful dog. I wish you the best and safe travels. Greetings from Puerto Rico, hope you can visit us one day.
Great informative video guys! My furry friend will be going through the same thing from the UK to the States one day. I've naturally questioned that decision, but like you, I feel the experience and freedom they get to enjoy far outweighs the uncomfortableness of the flight. Exciting stuff! They were born to adventure even more than humans. My dog loves vanlife!
We totally agree!! Occy is in his element exploring new places and smelling new smells every day! We are happy to hear you will be traveling overseas with your dog and it is great that UK - US is only one flight away :)!
😍 ufff, that’s super awesome! We are 16 months away from getting on the road, and we’ll be bringing our two dogs along. We are currently in South Korea and rescued a second little guy here. We are super excited about our coming adventures and hope to meet people like you guys along our way. Much love, and keep the videos coming 😊 we love them
I cried... haha that would be traumatic, just sending your baby off on a wild adventure! But totally worth it to have him with you through this amazing adventure! ❤️
Great video again max and lee. I would have liked to hear a little about your experience with taking occy from.canada to the states and than into Mexico as well. Maybe you could do a future video with that and a little info or tips/tricks on travelling with a dog. Can’t wait to see your next video😀
Thanks for the feedback Krista! And yes, we we're saving that info for a separate vid as we thought it would have been too much all in one. So stay tuned! 😊
I agree of course he wouldnt mind traveling for a day or two to stay with you guys! Very interesting info i live close to the border of the U.S. and Mexico and we recently to an rv to mexico. To take our dog it cost about 200 usd and it was totally worth it;)
J.K. Cooke aren't they just the best! I love German Shepherds... And pretty much all dogs for that matter. They loyalty and love they give you in return is endless!
Rylee Finger thank you! And funnily enough we actually started a page for Occy a few months ago but haven't had the time to get some photos on there. The page is @pawstowander . Maybe if we get enough interest on here it will give us the push we need to get it started!
...imho super smart to take away the negative by spending the extra on professionals so no unnecessary confusion for Occy...he’s your kid so of coarse he’s happy to be “home”...my jrt/poodle Linus always adapts to anywhere/anything new-animals “get” more than we give them credit...he still has puppy vibes thx to his awesome parents 🐾😎🏄🏻♂️🐾🎒💛
Thank you Nicole. We are happy you are enjoying our videos and plan to stay open and transparent with our channel as we continue to learn and grow with RUclips x
I live in Florida with my mini Australian Shepherd. I have only done road trips within Florida with her. If I ever moved out of the country there is no question I would take her with me. I actually don't find what you paid to fly Occy over to be expensive for what they provided. Occy is absolutely adorable by the way!!
Im binge watching you guys right now...hence, the comments on videos you did some time ago😂... I expect in the next few years I will be doing the reverse and taking my two little dogs back to Adelaide....I have been in contact with Jetpets over the past year getting info and they will definitely be the company I use when the time comes. Unfortunately I will have to quarantine my girls on arrival in Melbourne, but at least its only a week...a lot better than years ago when it was 6 months😕....At least now it is feasible...I would never have even considered a 6 month quarantine duration...still is scary though. Air Canada flies nonstop from YVR to MEL...so that will make the journey easier on them! Thanks for all the info👍👍
Just planning to travel with my furry friend and family mate our cocker spaniel of 7 years. We plan to travel from India to the US in Oct this year. I am super excited but also super worried if she will be comfortable and safe during the journey. Setting your story is slightly putting me at ease. Thanks for this, how to meet you someday too
So I'm new to your channel but so excited to travel with you!! My dream is to travel in a tiny home all over. One day it will come true. Until then I will go with you guys. Thank you for sharing!!
Occy is the cutest and I’m definitely interested in travel with a dog 😍 any more videos about his place in your adventures would be welcomed and appreciated
Max! What a cool story and journey bringing your boi over here! Very cool to see your passion and excitement of this journey! Wow! Keep up the fun vids, cheers Matt
If he has children.... please contact me! He is a sweetie and his personality reciprocates how much love you guys show him. Thanks for sharing this informative content I am really glad you guys made a channel. As a vegan, I have a lot of respect for this sort of information especially given from such a stellar couple.
Aw we wish he could have puppies! Although if he were not neutered we would not be able to give him as much freedom as he has now - who knows who he would knock up! Thank you so much for following along our adventure and we truly appreciate your kind words xx
Going to fly with 5 month old pup from Kosovo to Austria 😅 I'm freaking out eventhough it's only a two hour flight. Thanks for the upload! If your dog can handle such a long flight my little guy should be able to handle two hours in a cargo
Maaattee... that’s a steal tbh! From NEW ZEALAND to freakin Australia it costs 2k to bring my Border Collie 😭😭😭. I would pay 3K any day to have my best mate flown half way around the world to be with me!

Wow I just started balling that's the same wonderful love, I have for my sweet Simba he's my best friend
Traveling with a pet to Australia is quite complicated. There is mandatory quarantine if your are traveling from any country except NZ. Bringing a dog into North America is much easier.
This is literally the best video we've ever seen on RUclips... EVER..... so informative and you guys have such a great vibe!! You 3 are doing everything we are longing to do in the near future with our (super crazy) beagle Marley. We've been really intrigued about the process of taking a dog on the plane... just pray that Marley will be able to cope with it when the time comes... thank you so much for showing us that it is possible. Subscribed to follow your journey and will find you on Instagram right away..!!!! Thanks so much for sharing your story :) . Hope you're all having the best day ever
seeing you videos and photos, I feel like Occy is the happiest doggy in the world. in some of the photos it really looks like hes doing a big grin. I'll be honest, i kinda watch your video just for Occy lol
We also think he is the happiest doggo! We do not blame you for being here solely for Occy - he is amazing! We plan to keep him front and center in the next few videos so stay tuned and thank you for following along :)!
Oh I'm so sorry. I can only imagine how hard that was for you. I try not to ever think of my time with Occy coming to an end. I know it will absolutely crush me 😢
We agree! Especially since he is the most natural in front of the camera ;) You will be seeing a lot more of Occy in upcoming videos. Thank you for following along and stay tuned :)!
My Shiba, Norbu, traveled with me from AUS to HKG and we lived there for 5 years . We then moved to Canada and he picked up a wife in HK named Arya From Hong Kong Dog Rescue. I wouldn't say its easy to do but it can be done. Going back to AUS though is out of the question.. $4K for quarantine + flights and medical expenses is just insane. So thats worth considering if you take them out of AUS and want to go back...
Hey Shane! That is amazing that you have travelled with both of your dogs. It is really unfortunate how expensive it is to pay to bring dogs back to Australia. We don't know when we will head back to Aus maybe in a couple of years or maybe longer but one day we will need to pick up an extra job to save up if we do go back!
For sure I recommend investigate getting Permanent Residency in Canada. It was less expensive and we are so happy to be living in Toronto and continuing on our adventure. We also plan to build out a van and join the nomad clan in the not too distant future. If you want some tips for immigration as an AUS drop me an email/message. We got our PR before we moved here from HK.
AOTM(Americas ONLY Top Models).....y’all knew just how to trap us with the one and only baby pic....and then all pics after that....Occy on piggyback PRICELESS....give him a squeeze from me.... thanks for sharing.... from Houston Texas
Aw Rhonda! We are so glad you got your Occy fill in this video!! We have a dormant Instagram page that we wanted to start for Occy and think we will launch it soon as he is receiving a lot of LOVE. I wish there were a way for him to receive virtual pats and hugs xx
+1. .. The initial "pup" flight is the cruelest - not for the pup but for the family. .. Traveling to the EU twice to several times a year, our Portuguese Water Dog beast is happy to make the 8 to 9 -hour flight. .. Kennel up - Wheels up ATL, wheels down FRA - free at last. .. The good folks at both Lufthansa and United have provided a camera channel focused on the baggage hold area where the dog crates are secured. .. Ms. Lilly the Portuguese Wonder Dog says ... "its a piece of cake". .. Our 42lbs PWD in the large-sized ATA crate books a fare at $400. (USD) for a round-trip flight; ATL-FRA-ATL. .. Our pup often to always travels with the family. .. Cheers, RUclips'rs
Thanks for the video guys. I also live in Melbourne and plan to move to Canada in two years. I want to bring my cat with me but I don't know if she can handle a long flight/s. Did Jet Pets people release your dog at some point so he could use the toilet? Did you have to give them your dog's usual food to use during the flights?
I couldn’t imagine being without my lil guy. But ouch, that cost hurt just to hear it. He is an amazing travel buddy! What issues, info, and costs were there between the countries in North America?
Katherine Hanks yep it definitely stung but as I said, no regrets! Very few issues travelling with him across north America but we will address all this in an upcoming video about living in a van with a dog, so stay tuned 😊
Many years ago I traveled to Hawaii from US east coast. I needed to put him through quarantine in Hawaii. I would travel with a pet but I wouldn’t make a pet go through quarantine again. I just wouldn’t go where it was necessary.
Sorry for the late upload guys! Hopefully the puppy pics of Occy make up for our tardiness 😉
Max & Lee, Definitely makes up for it 💕💕
Of course cuteness level overload actually 😊😍
Totally, worth it!
ooohhhh is there anything more sexy than a guy who loves dogs?… .yea!!!! a HOT looking Aussie who loves dogs and his gorgeous Aussie do!!
Subscribe!
Thankyou so much.

Occy is a beautiful dog! Love how you consider him part of your family and the cost did not deter you. Thanks for sharing this info!
🌺 Super helpful, thank you! ❤ Occy, cute pup and amazing companion!

This was very helpful! I have a "big dog" that's actually an Australian shepherd also! We needed some tips on how to get him on a plane safe.

Hi Guys, I love that your 💓 is so big for occy the way it should be. 🐶
Rosemary Ciro dogs are the best kind of humans 😉
Max & Lee %100 it's almost a year since I put down my little Maggy 🐶😢 she was my partner through alot of things, miss her so much.
Oh I'm so sorry. I can only imagine how hard that was for you. I try not to ever think of my time with Occy coming to an end. I know it will absolutely crush me 😢
All shows should be focused around Occy!
We agree! Especially since he is the most natural in front of the camera ;) You will be seeing a lot more of Occy in upcoming videos. Thank you for following along and stay tuned :)!
Awesome video!
Definitely something to think about. Thanks Shane! We'll be in touch : )
AOTM(Americas ONLY Top Models).....y’all knew just how to trap us with the one and only baby pic....and then all pics after that....Occy on piggyback PRICELESS....give him a squeeze from me.... thanks for sharing.... from Houston Texas
So beautiful I had to watch it 2 more times....I love him.....FHTX
Aw Rhonda! We are so glad you got your Occy fill in this video!! We have a dormant Instagram page that we wanted to start for Occy and think we will launch it soon as he is receiving a lot of LOVE. I wish there were a way for him to receive virtual pats and hugs xx
Can you please make a video about A Day in the Life of Occy? I'm such a big fan of Occy now.
don't worry, it's coming ; )
+1. (USD) for a round-trip flight; ATL-FRA-ATL. .. Our pup often to always travels with the family. .. Cheers, RUclips'rs
....ok i'm in floods. So beautiful...
That is so smart thanks guys❤️
Thanks Divi!
You guys are awesome.
Thanks for the video guys. I also live in Melbourne and plan to move to Canada in two years. I want to bring my cat with me but I don't know if she can handle a long flight/s. Did Jet Pets people release your dog at some point so he could use the toilet? Did you have to give them your dog's usual food to use during the flights?
lab yaahhhh guys,,,safe trip guys..👍👍👍
