This is a good tutorial but the most frustrating thing is how non-specific you are with dimensions. You get to a gap and just say 'leave a gap' Need to know how many blocks the gap is. I tried this 4 times and it didn't match so have given up. That seems like the most important part that you missed. Keep it up but disappointed I can't finish this.
@@tortudragon the layout is really messed up >.> i have tried nine times to match the layout from the descriptions with the video and Josh is right, this is very frustrating and disappointing that something that i would have loved to build in my world CANT BE DONE
@@puppyslave4life it can, me and my friend followed the blue prints before starting, we've already finished the entire east wing of the castle, its been about a week and a half of on and off playing :) its definitely doable you just have to pay close attention to detail :!!
I can only think of one time when I needed to leave a gap and I couldn’t figure it out and that was at the 4:25 mark I believe and the gap there was 4 blocks. Idk if you’re still interested in finishing the model but just in case you are I hope that helped.
I was having a hard time following the video. Then you say there is a blueprint in the description. I was so happy. I have found it easier to count the blocks on the blueprint.
Hey Dragonod. In the video you said the foundations were 47 blocks above from the surface. What does that mean? Does it mean that we leave 46 blocks between the surface and the foundations and we put the foundations in the 47th? Or do we leave 47 blocks between the surface and the foundations and we put foundations in the 48th? In other words: Do we put the foundations in the 47th or do we put the foundations in the 48th?
It really doesn't matter, I built the foundations at y=50, the landscaping will differ between mine and others, it's just the general shape that matters so any height is fine
Congratulations for the Poudlard Castle! It’s beautiful and very successful! I tried to do it with my cousin and we had to do it several times because we were moving the blocks but I stayed focused and I ended up succeeding! I had an idea: to do the tutorial with an adaptation in my language for the French who wanted to build it. I’ll probably make a video where I’ll sayyou built it all In any case bravo, thank you for this tutorial! This encourages me to persevere and not give up! :)
Thank you so much! This episode is by far the hardest! As long as full credit is provided, I think I'd be happy with that. Please send me a video link of it when you do it so I can see whether the credit is enough since doing an identical tutorial just in another language will require a lot of credit
I have to start again I shift a block! I have no more patience ... How hard it is to concentrate with my brothers who spend their time watching TV too hard!
@@PlanetDragonod Alright, I would do that! But I am not allowed to have a youtube channel at the moment, so I will shoot the video now but I will probably publish it in 1 or 2 years! I think by then I would have managed to do the tutorial without lag! Well, I hope !
I started this built in the summer of 2020, worked on it for 3+ years, watched all of tutorials, built my own interior. I was working on the terrain and quidditch field when it was all deleted, now almost 4 years later, I must restart
Just managed to finish the foundation for this build in survival realm (peaceful!) god help me when I do the rest but will get there in a few months of collecting supplies! Thankyou for this build and also the blueprints! They were awesome!
7:08 In this part you say that there is "31" But it's actually 32, I had to break it a few times to understand, But apart from that the video is very good, you build well
IM SO HAPPY, first minute of the video i realise my foundations were wrong some how I was devastated, i looked in to it and went back to the first episode to try and fix my mistake, i was afraid i would have to redo so much, im building it in survival. Luckily i soon found out i only had to redo a smaller section
Sorry to say but i just dont think this is very well done - im doing this with my kids and im a 42 year old software developer with years of minecraft behind me and im having trouble following it - fair play to those with the perseverance to stick with it. Firstly you start with the foundations already laid but dont really explain the dimensions. im having to pause at your video just to catch the angles and then painstakingly recreate what im seeing; a birdseye view at key points with an advisory "hey guys pause and here and copy this section before moving on" to the next one would be super useful. discussing the lengths and other dimensions would also be useful. the blueprint really doesnt help at all. clearly a lot of effort has gone into it.
This is awesome!! I’m about to start building in survival, does anyone know what’s the area required to be to build this masterpiece??? To clean up the building area ???
For a survival world: the castle foundations must be placed at or below y100, and the castle itself is roughly 250x250, and it's up to you whether you want to add the landscape :)
Building this withy hubby and our son. Recommend using the blueprint. We've restarted twice due to the arch way gap being wrong and then the miscount on the 31 blocks in this vid. Either way, thanks for this build and can't wait to get it up!!

use the layout from the description
Ok it’s at 4:52
This is such a good tutorial, you’re a saint !! I can’t wait to build this
I was having a hard time following the video. Then you say there is a blueprint in the description. I was so happy. I have found it easier to count the blocks on the blueprint.
When i saw the title i thought it would just be a timelapse video but thank you very much planet dragonod
for doing this humongous castle
Hey Dragonod. In the video you said the foundations were 47 blocks above from the surface. What does that mean? Does it mean that we leave 46 blocks between the surface and the foundations and we put the foundations in the 47th? Or do we leave 47 blocks between the surface and the foundations and we put foundations in the 48th?
In other words: Do we put the foundations in the 47th or do we put the foundations in the 48th?
It really doesn't matter, I built the foundations at y=50, the landscaping will differ between mine and others, it's just the general shape that matters so any height is fine
WHAT ARE THE DIMENSIONS!! BLOODY HELLL
Finally completed episode 1 it took me 5 hours but I am excited for episode 2 coz I am starting episode 2 tomorrow
Notification squad strikes back :]
:] first comment twice in a row GG
@@PlanetDragonod the streak shall be continued :)
@@moistgooseberry sure will
three years and 2 corrupted worlds later, i'm retrying this monster of a build. wish me luck haha
it looks small on the inside, but overall very clear! great video
8:25 like so i know where i left off plz
Yay that's a huge help thank you
You're welcome!
Just managed to finish the foundation for this build in survival realm (peaceful!) god help me when I do the rest but will get there in a few months of collecting supplies! Thankyou for this build and also the blueprints! They were awesome!
4:56 someone like so i remember! :)
Do you know how many spaces the arch is
4
7:08 In this part you say that there is "31" But it's actually 32, I had to break it a few times to understand, But apart from that the video is very good, you build well
i dont really understand
Oh my gosh thank you I was just abt to break half of it cuz I thought I messed it up thank you so much for saying that!!!🙏🙏
thanks i was getting furious
Thank you so much I went thru all the steps multiple times from the beginning
thebluperints actually helped me
Glad to hear!!
4:49 can someone please like this so I remember where I left
6:24 here is my reminder you can put yours here too but i would appreciate if you could like for a reminder
I’ll give you a comment as well
:)
IM SO HAPPY, first minute of the video i realise my foundations were wrong some how
I was devastated, i looked in to it and went back to the first episode to try and fix my mistake, i was afraid i would have to redo so much, im building it in survival.
I've put this so-called tutorial off for years for these very reasons
It's so disappointing because it looks so good.
The Blueprints are in the description
The blueprint doesn't help I tried using it and the alignment is off
6:35 someone pls like so i can remember
I’ll give you a comment as well
Good luck on the 20K subs. You deserve a lot more.
Thank you!!
Yay omg!!!!
:D
Building this withy hubby and our son. Recommend using the blueprint. We've restarted twice due to the arch way gap being wrong and then the miscount on the 31 blocks in this vid. Either way, thanks for this build and can't wait to get it up!!
Enjoy building!
im so confused with the astronomy tower archways mine arent lining up no matter how much i try to change it around someone pls help!!! :(
OMG ME TOO :(
When u gonna put 31 blocks, place 32 instead
He gets it wrong and said 31, u actually need to put 32
@@bumbleblue8401 Thank you so much I kept messing up and it was driving me absolutely insane.
