Born and raised here. My family still lives here. It really is a beautiful place, especially when it snows at Christmas. Though, they could do a better job at putting the light up in the trees in the seal (main park). Hexham Abbey is awesome, and farmers market has really great food and wines on offer. Even the Weatherspoon's is welcoming and tidy, which is very rare for a Weatherspoon's. The charity shops, books stores, and of course the cafe's are brilliant. My favourite place to have something to eat is probably at "Little Mexico', where the owner, Daniel, makes the best burrito (and soup) I have ever had! 'The Heart' has the greatest pub meals, like they are high quality meals in a proper British pub ambience. Lots of restaurants and places to drink and meet people. Just a great place to live really. I miss it. Not been there for 2 years because of the pandemic =[
Why is this place full of wealthy middle class professional people who have kids who think they’ve been dragged up in poverty and are hard cases when they’ve had the best of everything? Their parents are both doctors yet they think they’ve been brought up in Benwell. Never understood this about that place.
