AWESOME!!!!!
How a lot of us long for those days........
Bittersweet!😢
I agree Beth
I wish I was a young adult back in the 1960s, but I was born in 1965, I was only 2 years old at this time, I wish I could rewind the decades. Everything seemed alot better in the 60s, I don't like the world we live in today😥
Now Steve & Eydie had so much TALENT, I was only 2 years old back then , I love all the FOOT LIGHTS on the stage, so elegant 💐🍸 I wish I could rewind the decades cuz I don't like the world we live in today 😥
Americans during this period are so lucky to have clean entertainment like Steve and Eddie.
Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gormé complimented each other so well,, Not only in their singing and over all performance, they made such a lovely couple as well.
Webster's Dictionary: Definition of Class: Steve and Eddie Gorme.
Came by here because of Edyie and Steve but it needs to be mention about 3 weeks ago we lost one of the funniest man ever lived. R.I.P. Tim Conway die on May 14, 2019
Love those two.
back when entertainers had talent, wish I could build a time machine
Me too. This is so great. If l had known we would lose all this, l would have appreciated my childhood more! 😉
THANKS TO THE HOLLYWOOD PALACE FOR SHARING THIS AWESOME UPLOAD !!! BEEN LOOKING FOR THAT OPENING SONG FOREVER !!! I USE TO GO TO THE PALACE WHEN IT WAS A NIGHTCLUB, I EVEN DID SECURITY THERE FOR COUPLE NIGHTS TO HELP OUT AN ACTOR FRIEND OF MINE, WHO WAS MOONLIGHTING THERE, AND I ALSO GOT TO WORK THERE AS AN EXTRA IN A COMMERCIAL.......I DIDN'T KNOW IT HAD SUCH A HUGE HOLLYWOOD HISTORY, ON TV AND ALL, FROM THE 60's..........
Greatest act in showbiz!
Eydie: is the greatest
They are the BEST!❤
HOLY CRAP, THAT HEAD BALANCING ACT IS ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING THINGS I'VE EVER SEEN !!!
they were the ultimate professionals.....and though earned a fine living and performed everywhere...they never got the recognition they deserved based on talent.......well...Eydie is long gone and unfortunately....so is the audience that knew their greatness
I feel like this is classy entertainment--they are so well suited to the music and lyrics.
Love all the old commercials.
Loved Steve Lawrence rest in peace sir
To quote John D. McDonald: Eydie could do anything, and do it just a little bit better than anyone else.❤❤❤❤
Ok, so a bit corny, right? But there were never two quite like these two in concert!! They were total showman.. and great singers.. this is a hoot.. This was totally before my time. I remember them in the late 70s on Carol Burnett and their specials.. that is when I saw them in Vegas and then later, concert halls around Los Angeles over the years..
I'll never see good talent & entertainment like this today, no way . Today's stuff is trash, that's how I feel about it, we had some great entertainment at 1 time
I agree with you Lady Cat.
LOVED THESE TWO...JUST HEARD STEVE HAS ALZHEIMERS...SAD,,,
Danny Kaye and Dinah Shore did the same audience member routine on his show two years earlier...
Never realized how much older (7yrs.) she was than him.
i always loved steve & eydie but this is FANTASTIC lip synching in the first song.
I've watched this a hundred times......I think I am convinced their first song is lip synced? It's driving me crazy trying to figure this out.
Yes, I think you are correct. Songs were pre-recorded in those days when performers appeared with no microphones in their hands and they used long camera angles. Otherwise they would need an overhead microphone to pick up their voices.
Rarely can you get a studio sound on a stage and be able to move around, dance, etc. Plus, you are selling an album. The Hollywood Palace was paid for by the lead performers. A pair like Steve abd Eydie probably spent more than $50K in 1965 dollars to appear. But it meant record sales, tv apearances and Las Vegas bookings.
@@frederickcombs8661 wow! I had no idea about that! And sorry to appear stupid...so you're saying they were definitely lip syncing? Or no....the stage was that accoustically perfect?
@@frederickcombs8661 They paid to be on the show?
snicker
Ken and Barbie couldn't look any better.
Do you have the episode before this one? Nov 7th 67 I think....It had Marlo
All the episodes I have were posted already. Sorry.
Dr, Joe Early recommending cigarettes?
I'm curious...How could this have been broadcasted in November when there is a commercial for Solarcaine suntan lotion?
Good then now.........
Can you post the one with Steve Lawrence as the host from May 8, 1965? I can't find it any where. All the other ones that Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme were on are on you tube.
Corbett Monica looks and sounds like Dr. Oz!
That's a 20 second psa on America's college.
If Liam Neeson is 62 years old now in 2015 (born 1952), and this aired in 1967, how old is he in the Kool commercial at 25:20? I'm trying to do the math and it puts him at 14. That is Liam Neeson right?
ooops. Bobby Troup.
Steve and Eydie= class, elegance and talent. The performers today dress like strippers and thugs and not much talent.
