I thought those reconstructed photos with the companions from all those different eras were brilliant. They stuck with me for a long time - amused that so many of them were wearing such flamboyant 70s outfits.
Totally agree Ian. That's why this magazine was s amazing, those photos were just one part of it. I think the Nicolas Courtney and Peter Purvis ones are my favourites.
I was given a copy of this mag when I was 13 back in December 73. I thought it was the greatest thing ever at the time: a terrific treasure trove of photos and information.
What an absolutely gorgeous magazine, thanks for doing this. I've only ever seen the cover before, so this was a real treat. I'm blown away by the quality of those photos.
I had this as a 7 year old in 1973. I never threw it away, although I know it eventually disappeared there at home. I remember the pictures from the Dalek story (but not the story in particular), but it was the episode guide that I read and reread (at leat until the Target story guide came out a few years later). As a 7 year old, I don't think I remembered even the early Pertwee stories that well (I'd watched since Troughton though according to me parents), which would have made me 3 or 4). I looked at the Dalek plans quite often as well, recognising that I couldn't make it even though I wanted one.
Our primary school teacher brought in a copy and showed it to use awe-struck first year kids. The maggots were terrifyingly memorable as were the build-your-own-Dalek construction plans. I think this was the beginning of me being a Who fan.
@@JulesBurt i wanna frame it but as a young who fan its my pride and joy i wasnt around in the 70s my first doctor was Tennant. I wont dare sell it for anything

Interesting to see the variants in the "facsimile" reissue, as well.
For sure, not that different but just a bit🙂

One of the greatest Who magazines ever produced 🙂

@@JulesBurt I'd definitely love to own one.

It's a truly classic magazine Nick, I think one of the best ever made👍 I always remembered those pictures from the Dalek story as well!
@@JulesBurt Absolutely. I cant think of anything else quite like it. I suppose the mini-documentaries on the DVDs come closest.
Right👍🙂
