In the 80's we used to reface escourt brake disc's on a lath, they had minimum thickness's stamped on them...
I still take the edges off my vehicles brake discs once...

"5:48" cars with 3 or 4 studs are a commodity of the past.
Most modern cars are either 5 or 6 studded wheels, even the small ones 😮
    Great job Al ❤😊

I regularly drove a B-reg van version of this car in 1986. If I drove it slightly too fast through a puddle it would die every time. I'd have to fettle with the plug leads and it would eventually restart. Apart from that, I bloody loved it.

Rather surprising the old calipers still had the ability to move, most hedge-dwellers tend to need them replacing cos they turn into bricks of rust... :P

Nice one Al! Looking forward to seeing it at Festival of the Unexceptional on July 27th! As said previously looking forward to meeting you and Fudgy, I’ll be there with my son and a mate with Crusty my Ford Cortina, I hope it does well getting there on the day! I had a 305 estate in burgundy, 1.5 petrol one, nice ol thing to drive but remember the brakes failing me one day, pushed the pedal and it went to the floor!! 🤣

Peugot does'nt want to play by not starting and a bit of 'up and down' with Fudge. No point buying new parts for this if you can recondition the old ones, that sounds like a cunning plan Al.😁👍

Hard to best the quality that was in the older car parts. A brake caliper that sat unused for years in a hedge still is servicable and modern day cars the caliper rots off them while in use. Reuse whats perfectly good is the way to go.
