Wuthering Waves takes place in the world of Solaris-3, which has survived a global catastrophe caused by the Weeping. Civilization lies in ruins, but is slowly beginning to revive. The protagonist, Rover, wakes up with no memories of his past. Together with a group of allies - Resonators with special abilities, he sets out on a journey to uncover the secrets of the world and his own identity.
As he explores Solaris-3 and interacts with other characters, fragments of Rover's memory gradually return, shedding light on the events that preceded the disaster and the protagonist's role in them. The plot is presented through dialogues, cutscenes and encounters with key NPCs.
The gameplay of Wuthering Waves combines open-world exploration, dynamic combat and RPG elements. The player is free to move around the vast locations of Solaris-3 using a variety of navigation methods. A special place is occupied by the hook system, which allows you to cling to ledges and overcome obstacles, saving energy.
The combat system in the game is focused on speed, mobility and tactical use of abilities. The player can dodge enemy attacks, parry blows and counterattack, use special techniques and interact with unique QTE elements. Each resonator has its own fighting style and skills that are unlocked as its Forte (unique characteristics) develops. By combining the capabilities of different characters, you can create effective combat ensembles.
The Echo system deserves special mention. By defeating enemies and exploring the world, the player collects their remains - phantoms of Quiet Dissonances. From them, you can create Echoes - special abilities that strengthen the hero in battle. The variety of Echoes and their effects allows you to adapt your fighting style to a specific enemy or situation.
