Dropping down the 2 from Cloudburst Summit

- Welcome to Highway 2 in the Angeles National Forest. We start at Cloudburst Summit and shoot down one of the longest sustained descents on the 2.
We met up at 5 a.m. and started climbing in the dark. We caught a great sunrise and after 3 hours of gorgeous climbing we set the camera up and headed back down.
Spare a thought for the firefighters currently battling the blaze up there. The road is currently closed and a huge section of the Angeles National Forest is burned with little containment of the fire.

I’m not even a cyclist, but these videos are like meditation. Love em. Keep up the good work.
😊
I can only make 55km downhill. 70+ is too much for me. Its scary.
@@bartmanapat238 sucks for me there's no long climbs/downhills in my area
I love this new detailed analysis shown on screen I wish I had something like this

Fastest I’ve ever gone was 41 mph and I was scared as hell lol. You guys are insane. Love it.
I did 45 the other day. Thought it was nuts!
The speed that Taylor’s heart rate drops when he is tucked is pretty impressive.
Thank you for blessing us with the overlays!
That freewheel sounds aggressive, I like it!
I bet it is a Gokiso hub
Big thumbs up for mentioning the fire fighters.
RIP Cloudburst. Glad you captured it so beautifully on video
😭 Hopefully it will be better managed going forward.
What a beautiful descent...Thank you so much!!
Thank you for these dope vids. Inspiring and amazing to watch. Somehow serene and high-octane at once. Y'all are beasts. Amazing skills - the physicality, the filmmaking, all of it.
Thanks for this. Nice memory refresher for me. In 2009, I climbed angels highway from sea level on a lone cycling circumnavigation of the 48 contiguous US. Starting from my massachusetts home, i Took the northern tier of the US through Rhode Island to Seattle, then down along the coast (101 was great until Santa rosa, then bikes prohibited) to about del ray marina ish on on the 25th day of august that year. Then turned around stopped at a jack in the box, and headed towards la cañada. I almost camped at a look out of LA for the night, but a motorcyclist told me a lot of bad shit happens there, so i went back to la cañada, slept in a park, and headed up the next morning. Got to cloud burst summit that evening, and was in Phelan the next morning. It was fun going downhill the other way at least. Lol. From there, I took the historic rt 66 (not the interstate) to 95 (searchlight) to Vegas and hoover dam. Then down to kingman Arizona along 66 again to wichitah falls texas, to new orleans to the Florida panhandle, then across all the eastern states except new hampshire and Maine. It was awesome adventure, and cbs in the angels mountains definitely sticks out among all the memories.
Breathtaking DH, Insane Riders! ❤🧡💛
These guys were moving! Enjoyed the video angles & freehub sound!!
Hypnotizing. Mesmerizing. Inspiring.
Thank you for not tarnishing this particular one with any additional audio.
Music soundtracks can be great, and voice-overs are often invaluable. But in this case? You presented it perfectly.
As always: Stay safe.
Epic descent, thanks for the thrills.
The infographics are great. 👍👍
Fantastic descent 👍
No fire there- the smoke is from you guys burning up the road!
I love how when the Harley rider passed you, it still took like 5-6 more corners for them to disappear from sight.
Keep em coming, brilliant stuff!
Beautiful day for a ride....cracking video!!
Dem hubs just screaming tho...🔥👌🏽
Awesome flying mullets - killin the supertuck 👌🏻
On a normal day in a normal time, you could've stopped at Newcomb's Ranch (9:17) for coffee and breakfast. RIP California small business.
Excellent, bar-setting camera work.
Good forging that is being done in these boys ... 👍
It looks like a game.

The sound seems to also have improved on your videos as we can hear not only the free wheel distinctly but the whooshing sound of the dish wheels winding up under load.
I was afraid to go on the road as a cyclist by my self, but these videos are helping thank you
Love the stats on the LHS. Nerd fodder!! 😂👍🏼

That wind direction could change any moment, one reason I’m not risking my limbs.

Last time I was at Hwy 2, I crossed it at Cloudburst on my way to Canada. Thought I recognized the trail to the right at 00:08.

Safa, you might have already ridden this one, but the road down from Mt. Pinos looks pretty fun. I think it's Cuddy Valley Rd. The top is around 8,000 ft and the parking lot at the bottom is around 5,000 ft.
Love your Chris king
I was waiting for you to overtake everyone
Superb.

I love seeing porsches up on great roads.
@@SAFABrian it was a great ride and a wonderful video. You deserve a subscribe.
Fastest I have ever been in a descent was 84 km/h (~52 mph in your currency, I think). That was pretty scary because my bike felt quite nervous at that speed...
So the people in real life drive like they do in GTA. Good to know!
this shit's incredible...
Y'all looking at the descent, I'm looking at the climb they have to do prior the descent
🙌🏽😎… ya’all badasses... I went down Las Tunas Canyon today and needed a crowbar to pry my fingers loose... lmaoooo
Wish that here could be up/down hills like that. Freaking flat Earth in its all mighty and glory! Good stuff, as usual!
This new release of Zwift is awesome! ... wait... :O
I thought it is a video game🤯
