    Awesome, this worked. I had used a 10mf capacitor and 33k resistor. what I had, and it was again nicely in the noticable frequency. Did this to introduce bread board to my kid and he loved this.

      Nice! I think it is the second circuit I showed my niece. Flashing lights are fun for anyone.

    Thanks! Works great. Is there a way to make it a triangle wave?

      That'd probably be a big circuit for transistors. They can be made more easily with op amps, but I haven't made one in a while.

    I have managed to make the circuit thanks to you and your tutorial, thank you. However I did struggle to get it to work at first until I noticed that some of the points on my breadboard had bad contacts. Is it possible to buy a quality board, or are they all the same? Cheers, John... :)

      I only really use cheap boards and I lose connection a lot. I have read many times that more expensive boards have better connections. If I was building a serious prototype circuit and needed a good board, I would go Amazon and read the reviews of electronics breadboards, and find one that reviewers claim makes better connections than cheaper boards.

    can i use 12v as input? i find it hard to make it this our project at school. and i really want to make this done.. i tried so many times i guess.. but the 2 LED just light up and didn't turn on and off like yours, do you know what is the problem?? i did follow the steps.

      Should work about the same. If they are flashing fast enough then they will both look like they are on constantly even though they are just flashing quickly. Larger value capacitors and/or larger value resistors that go from the positive side of the power supply to the negative side of the capacitors and base of the transistors will slow down the flash. Hope that helps!

      @@Electronzapthanks you very much sir. i am understanding it much better now. you help me a lot, so in order to get it right i will have to increase the value of my resistor or my capacitor. does the transistors still the same as 2N2222?

    • @Electronzap
      @Electronzap  5 лет назад

      Any NPN bipolar junction transistor should work. Pin layout may be different though if you use a different transistor. So, to wire it exactly as I did, you'll want a NPN transistor that starts with 2N

      @@Electronzap If i use PNP transistors does it will still work sir?

    • @Electronzap
      @Electronzap  5 лет назад

      Not wired like this. The polarities will be opposite. But it will work the same with PNP BJTs (that start with 2N) if you switch the + and - sides of the power supply and reverse the direction of the LEDs and capacitors.

    Another great tutorial thanks, I am now going to have a go at this but the only transistors I have are - 2N3904 - will they be ok? thanks again. John... :)

      Sure can! This circuit will work the same with any NPN transistors. In fact, every Bipolar Junction Transistor (BJT) circuit I made sure far will work the same with any BJT transistor of the same polarity.

    LED negative terminal must be connected with Transistor Collector.
