I hate needles and getting shots or giving blood. Getting shots is definitely less painful than giving blood. What helps me is not looking at the needle and just crunching my teeth. Usually done pretty quickly and forget about it.

I have a piece of advice for people scared of shots and or vaccines. If you’re scared have your shot done with someone who is very familiar with getting the shot done. And who knows they might know a perfect distraction for you to focus on instead of the shot. Some more advice I could give is if you’re feeling scared or nervous try telling a few jokes that might help. Also if there’s anyone out there who is getting a shot done soon and who is reading this keep in mind I’m proud of you for getting it done. Go get it done and I will be praying for you. Another thing God is always with you. If you ever feel nervous to get a shot talk to God. Talking to God is the best distraction.
Great job, where were you Fifty five years ago. They tried to give me my injection, and I tore the doctors office up. I know they were glad to see me go home. If you tried to give me an injection, It was a guaranteed fight. Tho! My parents were not happy with this behavior, mother was proud and confident, on the other hand, stating, "I don't have to worry about this son becoming a drug addict." My mother was right. Keep up the good work. Retired nurse 🤗

I'm the same but on a larger scale, like I won't even pick my finger to get a blood sugar test and the needle of a finger stick is like a 10th of the size of a vaccination needle, but one day I ASKED my my mom to get me my flu shot, not a lie and I'm 12 now and I was like 10 then so it's not that hard if you have the mental preparation.
Naw i wish getting shots was that easy my 2 year old was getting her blood drawn and it took me and two other nurses to hold her down she bit and kicked the nurses then got blood all on my clothes then ripped the Band-Aid off and tried to run giving everyone the evil eye
My doctor/nurse uses a numbing block but I still feel the needle go in but then that’s all I feel now I have lidocaine patches from my doctor prescribed
