Literally. Genius idea
@mommy_mango I have an excersise book that does a similar concept of showing which muscles are used when doing particular exercises!
I have a flared rib cage (especially on my left side from chronic pancreatitis) and mild scoliosis from a lack of strength in my upper abdominal muscles, and my doctor suggested I start wearing a brace to sleep. But I feel like if I don't learn how to maintain the results that my brace will give me (in a few years) then I'll just be doomed to wearing it forever. I've been looking for things other than just better breathing techniques for this and so thank you for sharing this! I'm definitely going to add this to my fitness routine! I know the results won't show for a while, but I know it will benefit me in the long run ❤
Thanks for sharing your story with me! Totally understand your concerns about the brace reliance. It's fantastic you're seeking proactive solutions! I would love for you to keep me updated on your progress ❤️
Girl I have very similar problem. Flared rib & mild scoliosis. Mostly due to a hip injury from a bicycle accident in highschool, but exasperated by my son literally kicking the inside of my ribs for the last 5months of pregnancy. That kid told me about every 5minutes that he wanted more room. Now he’s 3 & over half my height. No wonder my rib is still f-ed up😂
I’ve been doing yoga & stuff, but my right side abdominal muscles are just too weak. I’m hoping a target specific exercises like this will strengthen my muscles enough to start feeling control in my ribs again, because right now I’m 80% sure my rib is in the way of my lungs breathing, as every time I take a breath I have to force myself to breathe deep enough to feel the air in my lungs…
I highly recommend seeing a physical therapist. Even if you don't have the best insurance going for a couple of appointments a few months apart can be amazing. A good physical therapist can take your scans and conditions and come up with a great exercise plan. Most of them have videos of the exercises that you can follow and then when you come back in a month or two they can reevaluate and create a new phase. Most of the time when I've done this I only have to see them 3-6 times and then I just keep up the exercises until my body decides to throw me another curveball.
@@szarahsshow5321 The word you want is exacerbated although children are exasperating too
@@szarahsshow53213 and over half of your height? what are you 4’9?
This is cool. I wore a corset for a year and it brought my waist in so much it’s still small 5 years later however I do need to strengthen my muscles. Thanks 👍👍👍
That's interesting to hear!
Oh my god. I thought there was nothing to do for my expanded ribs. I'm ordering bands now!!
Let me know how it helps 🥰
Can a towel work?
@@vee4847
No, it needs to be elastic, like some type of band or something. Or something stretchy.
I am loving the visuals! Thank you! Just seeing diagrams doesn't always connect, but this really helped
Great to hear!
I have been waist training for years and it most definitely works. If you add core work outs and strength training you will visibly see the difference in 3 short months I am 30 and had a c-section I had to cut a lot of toxins like alcohol & smoking (greens) and I make sure to get good sleep. Hope this helps
Thank You for All these video's Love!! ❤
You are so welcome!
My dad’s a surgeon and right before you said “it can make it worse” he said the same and then said THIS IS 100 percent true!!
He usually hates on most fitness videos since they are all BS but she knows her stuff!
Glad your dad agrees 😝
They way she shows you how the body is insanely genius.
Thank you 😊
Omg thank you for this! I am very much not the target audience for this (Im a teenager who has no desire to change their body) but I still appreciate this so much. Not only are you saying how what was done in the beginning isn't something you should do, you also tell why. AND you give a much better alternative without making anyone who would take this advice feel bad for wanting to feel better in their only body!
Aw, thank you for sharing the love! I'm really glad you appreciate the video 😊
She’s adorable I love her
Thank you for this!!

Great way to explain it!
Glad you think so!
This is a good visual thank you
❤️❤️
This is gold. Thanks 🙏🏾 ☺️
Thank you! I have a very very short torso and after 3 babies I can tell my ribs are so much wider than before because they had nowhere to go. Nice to know I can help them go back. ❤😊
I’m definitely going to try that!❤🎉
Please do! ❤️
Thank you so much for this. How many reps and how often should we do it?
4-5 times per week, 10 reps x 3 sets ❤️
Awesome visual teaching instruction!!
🖐️(high five!)😄
Thank you! 😃
Thank you🙏🏾💚
Of course 🙌
I love this, thank you!
You're so welcome!
Wow this is really helpful and insightful thank you but how many times should I do this and will it work on a naturally extended rib cage?
So glad! I would do 10 reps x 3 sets and this can help if your core muscles are weak 😊
as someone who wears corsets and waist trainers I can promise it doesn't make the mommy tummy worse 😂 if you wear them on a schedule consistently that mommy tummy disappears and your waist is brought in, I've already lost 2 inches off my waist and I look fantastic
The costume! Commitment!

Thank you ❤
Thanks

EST advice ever. Thank you
That's exactly what happened to me. My ribcage is not the same anymore
I am a visual learner! Running to go buy those bands! lol
Haha let me know if you try this 😋
Facts!!! It squishes it out like busicuits
Sweeping or mopping the floor strengthens and tighten those muscles after child birth. Maybe unheard of chores with all the modern gadgets nowadays 😅
Ok good. I was like NOOOO I MESSED UP MY RIB CAGE DON'T DO IT!
Yes!! Explain why the waist things don't work, for the people that swear by them!!
😝
It does work lol women from other countries have been wrapping themselves for years after birth . I’ve had 4 kids . It does work ! They just don’t tell you that you have to eat healthy and exercise along with the waist training !!!
@keniavalentin I do think they are a good idea for after birth, but if your working on losing weight around your abdomin a lot of people see a difference because they have lost water weight from sweating in that area not fat. Also, if the band is too wide, it can prevent you from using your abs the correct way. I guess it all depends on your expectations and understanding what's happening to your body. I'm not saying they are the worst thing ever though.
Im having Slim Goodbody flashbacks
👀me looking at my band laying on the floor right now
Thanks
Haha no problem ❤️
Very clever😮
where did you buy those ?
What’s the name of this exercise?
A Modern Day Mr. Slim Goodbody… he use wear outfits like this and would educate … it’s much needed
Haha, I've gotten that a lot! Glad you like the videos!
It's hilarious that this even had to be explained 😂😂😂
Ok...im following u now
Thank you ❤️
Okay ill do that and wear my waist trainer 😅
However, one must engage the muscles for the exercise to work. So if you are trying this half tutorial make sure you learn the first step first. Engage your stomach and breathe properly! Remember, just because a clip tells you what to do instead, doesn't mean that it's teaching you all the proper steps in the exercise that will actually help 😅
Im an ex drug addicted and i have a bloated ribcage, thank you so much, i could cry
I use shit like this to hold my back because my work destroyed it, but I’m sure people at the gym think it’s a waist trainer lmao.

Aw thank you 🥰
Supporting the core makes it weak bc it doesn't have to support itself
Correct! ❤️
I love that outfit ngl, its giving titan
what can I do about sunken ribs from a too tight bra?
Female titan
Dang. Now i have to find my resistance bands. You know, the ones ive had for 3 year and are still in their unopened store packaging. Yeah, those. Crap.
I wore belling bands after each kid becuase the pain of everything moving and working it’s way back to wear it belongs and you still have a bunch of stretched out skin that had just held a baby so your body still looks and feels pregnant but there’s no baby anymore
Now I am seeing why Pilates is key

Start core exercises now before you get pregnant! Trust me.
@@ingesexton811 It's never too early to work on yourself! Being healthy before you're pregnant will make pregnancy far easier :)
Yes, that was my point lol @@waffleaffle231
I would also say, if you can, work on your core/abs before you get pregnant. No one ever thought I had twins.
Omg! Your body suits with our skeleton and muscles is taking me back to my childhood in the early 80s 🥰 I can't remember the guys name with the anatomy suit and kids show, but I always thought he was so cool. You just unlocked a happy childhood memory. 💛👍

Slim Goodbody!
Please explain the breathing pattern and foot placement for us! this looks good.
Yes, let me know if you try it! You can do your feet shoulder distance apart and you can exhale when you move your arm down and inhale when you lift it up ❤️
Thank you!@@mommy_mango
I love the suits
Here we do the wraping. It's on the ribcage. It start from the hips up to above the belly. And it works. our tummy back to almost where it was without work out. It's big different compared to the ones who didn't do the wraping nor work out
Thank you for telling the truth about these waist trainers I see so many women suffering and having it all wrong. I love your outfit you wear so educational.
Happy to spread the truth!
@@mommy_mango❤💕💖
as someone who did not have kids, but is insecure over the width of my ribcage. thanks!!
Why does this remind me of that one scene from Dork Diaries where Nikki has to wear her biology project human body suit in her class presentation😭😭😭
Hi, does it target obliques or what muscle group?
So here we’re trying to isolate your obliques a bit by focusing on the exhale and adding a little one sided resistance while imagining you are bringing your ribs down and in.
This looks like it would be helpful when losing weight and not having a pregnancy tummy, but fat just under breastbone through natural waist. Right?
I wear a waist trainer and got awesome results .. my best friend does it too and she got a brautiful waist 😊 it totally work . Dont know where this "it dont do anything" opinions come from tbh.. did you even try it yourself then?
The anatomy and skeletal suits are nice visuals and very helpful. Very clever!
Thank you very much!
Can I do this while 30 weeks pregnant or do I wait until postpartum? My ribs have been expanding and flaring with a lot of pain the past few weeks and my bras band width size has increased a couple of inches already.
Your ribs expanding during pregnancy is totally normal at this point in your pregnancy. ❤️ The baby is growing and pushing your organs around. Your ribs expanding is making room for all this to happen. For now, I would stick to some of my other exercises on this channel. I have a prenatal playlist of some I’m doing in the bed even. ❤️
As a Healthcare worker, I love love love how you used visuals in this video
Instant follow. The effort and delivery is amazing!
So belly binding after pregnancies is useless?
Light support immediately after delivery can be helpful just simply as support, but it shouldn’t be tight with the intention to make one looking smaller… then as soon as your ab muscles start getting some strength/ roughly no later than 6 weeks pp, it’s best to try to let the abs work for itself.
@@mommy_mango thank you so much for your explanation 🤗

I am going to be doing those. Easy it’s in the home and no need to worry about going to the gym. Love it. Can u do one for lower back pains?

Waiste trainers can also cause pelvic organ prolapse
Yup!!
Does this work if your rib cage is like sticking out? (Like does it flatten it out) And how long should you do this before seeing results
Yes, if your ribs are sticking out to the sides. If they're sticking out to the front, that's more of a posture issue. This exercise will tighten the muscles and connective tissue connected to the rib cage, effectively bringing them down and in. It can take a few weeks to see results. You should start seeing a difference in 3-4 weeks. I'd do these 4-5 times a week! Check my rib flare playlist in this guide that can help you identify your type of rib flare and give the best exercises: mommymangorae.activehosted.com/f/1 ❤️
Thank you so much ❤
I swear my sister used the belt and it works for her! She has 4 kids!!! 4 kids and she does not exercise, she just used belt for 6 months after delivery amd her stomach is intact! I wonder why this is working for her? My mom used this trick too and it worked for her everytime. So what's wrong with thos concept?
2 out of 3 women tighten up naturally post partum. We usually take the pattern after our moms as well. So that both your mom and sister experienced these results may have been totally natural, even if they hadn’t worn the belt.
There are negative effects, so we don’t recommend a super tight corset type belt…especially not long term. Definitely research it for yourself from reputable sources though. ❤️
So far they are really fine and these works great for them. Regular check ups showed that they are healthy so I believe this is a great idea for them. And I don't think their tummies would have taken back the form naturay without it because my sister did not do this right away but her tummy was wacked even after 6 mos. on her last pregnancy, and she used this method again and it worked. So I don't think it's genetic in her case. This really help her. And she's not wearing it super tight. Just tight enough.
That outfit freaking rocks. It's also weirdly really helpful!
Whoa!!! I’m a body builder with a waist on zero and I’m finna try this let’s get into the negative integers 😂😂😂
Wow i am young and i was born with a wide rib cage, it is going to work on me or is it made for mothers like in this video??
This is directed to mothers who have rib flare from pregnancy ❤️
@@mommy_mango oh ok thank you
I have an insanely wide ribcage. Never had kids or medical issues, though. I wonder, if this works if you're just 'build that way'.
The gap between my lowest ribs and my hipbones is so narrow, it basically looks like I have no waist, because my ribs stick out so much. I can't even wear anything, that accentuates my waist, it looks ridiculous.
Oh well my rid cage has always been big as a Native American Indian women even as a child to and i had a baby to still stayed the same way. You cant always stay the same way to after you have a baby life sucks and then you die. God doesn't do us all the same way you may come back with a straight figure like mine in your next lifetime too.
How does it make it worse? I don't have a mommy tummy because I'm not a mom 😅 But I want to slim down and use one of those to sweat more. Are they bad?
This only works if you didn't have your abdominal muscles separate during pregnancy. You will need surgery to get that fixed.
Immediate subscribe! Premenopausal, no babies tummy. But I think this will help
What about the fupa section... my lower mummy belly is just hanging there.😅
I hate to be “that guy” but I swear by my waist trainer. I am 7 months PP, and for the first 3 months of working out, I was very disciplined with Diastasis Recti (abdominal separation) abdominal training workouts. But even after my DR closed, my hips were still spread more than before having my son. It wasn’t till I used my waist trainer religiously that I finally have my waist back to the measurements pre pregnancy! They definitely work! I do think that healing Diastasis Recti first is a must though.
Will it work for me and my gorilla rib cage?!?Even though I’ve always had a gorilla-sized rib cage? Or do I just need to actually shave my bones down?
Why are there nipples on the pecs? They are not part of the muscle, they are part of the dermis on top of the pec...its like someone skinned the body but went "Eeew, nipples. I ain't touchin dat."
