ROMA - Chiesa di San Ignazio di Loyola in Campo Marzio

La Chiesa di Sant' Ignazio di Loyola è un importante chiesa di Roma che si trova in piazza sant' Ignazio nel centro storico di Roma.
La chiesa è molto nota per l'enorme affresco della "Gloria di Sant'Ignazio"di Andrea Pozzo del 1685. Quando si osserva in alto, stando in piedi nel punto marcato a terra da un disco dorato posto nel pavimento della navata, si può ammirare la simulazione prospettica di un secondo tempio, sovrapposto al primo, quello reale della chiesa.
Un altro segno nel pavimento, un po' più avanti verso l'altare, contrassegna il punto per l'osservazione ideale di una seconda tela prospettica, che riproduce l'immagine di una cupola. Infatti, la maestosa cupola in muratura prevista dal progetto non venne mai realizzata. Si dice anche che siano stati gli abitanti del luogo a non desiderare una cupola troppo grande che oscurasse loro il sole.

The splendor of the Counter Reformation. I always loved to pop into this church for Vespers. In the autumn and winter months, especially, the interior glowed with all the illuminated candles and light reflected off white marble surfaces and statues.

mr nalli I absolutely love your videos...and your love of these churches is so evident. I love your videography, the detail the chance to see some of this great art close up...thank you so much...one complaint if you don't mind...the music is very distracting and annoying...if possible chant or renaissance polyphony wouild honor those magnificent spaces better in my opinion...that being said werll done sir and thank you.

Thank you very much for your comment. Choosing music is not easy. In the past i had many video banned because of copyright infringement so i have to use copyright free music and a good one is not easy to use. Also as you see a music i like others find it annoying. Thanks anyway
