Man, only 5 years and resin printing has come so far. Just bought an Elegoo Saturn for a 1/6th the price while still printing faster and with higher resolution. Insane.
When I see such things, I forget that I'm an engineer and feel like a 6 year old who appreciates technology like magic.... :)
I run my used IPA through a coffee filter or two once a week and it removes all of the resin, thus saving the now expensive/hardish to find IPA, to be reused. Cheap and easy
good tip, thanks
Does it still waste a ridiculous amount of resin or has that been fixed? That was the largest issue with the last gen.
Reporter had no time to wait for sample print as they had to head back to office hence the footage was not comprehensive.
That's great, but, will it blend?
this is why rep rap for 3d printers was made to compete with everyone else in the industry open source.
The only reason why costs will ever come down is if people can do it themselves if not then monopolies form and force prices up. WE ARE the competition that lowers the prices of goods and services. IF you can do it yourself they have to lower the prices to entice you to be lazy and use their service.
DO people get it yet? LEARN skills to do it yourselves and everyone benefits. Stop being a lazy bum like the average ahem....______ insert word.
+Koushi That was actually quite inspiring

can i 3d print a 3d printer?
Yea
if u'r as smart as mit guys XD
Yes you can!
+gemofbricks omg............................ PRINTCEPTION
+gemofbricks Yes, you can, but the linear bearings and the drives wont stand so long. And you can't really print a stepper/servo motor for it. but other parts solvable :)
Man, we really are getting ever closer to the Star Trek replicator, aren't we?
Exactly my thoughts!
/)
we can 3d print food....so we are there
can we, really?
I 3d printed an orange poop emoji with easy cheese, am I doing it right?
Why cant a system be installed that maintains the resin at a nominal volume ie; 3-5mm from bottom at all times
6 years later you get a resin printer for $200
Imagine people from 1800 saw that
What is the point of the wiper? To confuse buyers with an extra gismo? I lifts the part up and then the wiper just moved the resin around?
I think they are going to justify this design choice by saying that the cartridge system keeps only what you absolute need while printings but this is merely a way to lock you into buying their resin just like the inkjet printers everyone gits to act like their ink is special and it reflect in the price. This is an evil we should not embrace
D16, 2018----And now the Anycubic Proton resin printer is available for $400-$500.
Welp... Now it's 2020 and you can get an Elegoo Mars for 250$... Less than 10% of the 3500$ price tag 5 years ago
Are there any public companies who use these liquid resin printers?
What kind of 3d printer is that , can you tell me ?
Msla
So to be clear this a wild dreamer of an idea. To be clear furthermore this is a brainstorming concept and is in no way likely feasible with modern technology. I am even yet unsure that no one else has thought about this yet either. I am told metal printing is still miles from reliable under extreme mechanical pressure due to structural integrity. So what if we flipped this upside down what if we printed at the surface of a large vessel and pulled the printed object down into a larger tank. Lets say for a moment we could modify the polymer media to have extremely high resistance to extreme temperatures. We could produce the shape of a casting mold into the media keeping it empty of fluid as it submerges. At the end of the print we have a casting mold suspended in the polymer liquid. We then fill it with molten materials like steel or aluminum. the remaining un activated material that is still liquid could be heated or cooled to a large spectrum of temperatures for annealing, quenching, or heat treatment. the mold perhaps could be vibrated at certain phases to reduce air in the cast. I think the mold would create smoother finishes requiring less material to be removed for finishing. It might create a more accurate cast with less deviation. green sand requires a lot of setup time. this could be setup in minutes through cad software and the pre existing parts could be 3d scanned for coordinates. you could cast a part dump the tank and in five minutes produce a new part. this would reduce supplier constraints in machine shops. I know this is a pipe dream but I view a time coming where machining and additive manufacturing will come together in hybrid machines of manufacturing.
I'll wait until Wal-Mart sells them for $30 dlls...
Than you can buy 1 for your grand children. LOL

Burn!
What a printer!!!
I really want this, but I don't have that kind of money right now
This is Peachy Printer but way better and successful.
where can I find any of these stl files to print ?
Super! 👍
ill get the chinese one that can use any materials and is 25% of the price
Can this print with silicone? Or does it work with the Discovery attachment to enable it to do so?
I live in South africa and here it is even more expensive I paid close to $6000 for mine and do not even mention the price of resin here.. And we earn a lot less then in the US but it still is profitable for me as this printer has paid for itself over and over again . I do need the high resolution of the printer and the castable resin it can print. The closest rival to this machine granted it is a better machine is $ 10000 more expensive
What kind of stuff are you using your printer for?
Does it warping?
This is Star Trek replicator the beginning. It's funny as people are not seeing that all these products, have come from scientific fiction shows. This product in 50 years will be what a factory can do, it'll be were you can repair , anything. To boldly go where knowone has gone before.
so why ON EARTH would you even consider buying a ultimaker anymore if you can get THIS for the same money??
TheHennes36 in theory these only work with resin where as some 3d printers in the ultimark style can use several types of plastics and even some metals.
TheHennes36 different uses, also cost to size up models on FDM/FFF would be much cheaper.
With these you have a lot more work. For example you have to use gloves
@@bartbergman4812 LOL
Excellent !
Aww ... this is where the prototype M1 3d Printer come from :)
Not really, normal Stereolithography like this is almost 30 years old.
This printer is an absolute disaster for commercial use. We've been using it in our business for 1 year now and have trouble with it every 2 or 3 weeks: tanks not recognized, cartrdiges not recognized, non adherance to the build platform. We also had to have the optical system recalibrateDon't get me wrong: when it prints it does a fantastic job, but this machine has some serious reliability issues... We're going to look for another (proffesional) brand.
Hi Marco, would be intresting to hear how ur situation turned out. Cheers
I have been using it for nearly 2 years now everyday and often running through the night as well and hardly had a single misprint had no mechanical reliability issues at all
love engraving and laser cutting with Endurance laser installed on my 3D printer
Yeah we got the Form 3‘s
I really need this, so I can make epic stuff that can be used for lost casting complex metal stuff. Much easier for me to use 3d software than actual clay.
R603 Burakkusuta That's literally the exact same reason why I want it.
200$ fdm printers are useless for jewelry, even this printer barely makes it. Printing really detailed and small parts will be of questionable quality.
@@1345-v2e I own one and I am a jeweler and use it every day from big bulky pieces to small bead set rings its a fantastic machines yes you get better machine but not at this price range . The next better machine I looked at was $18000.-
Hello. where i can buy uv material like a plastic or resin? Ebay, aliexpress? How to search it?
Uv resin
Models are to small. Limit my visions
Good another commercial... Hey what about the Form 1 which was a crappy machine and a huge failure? Why this is really better? Can we have some true tests and not just raw propaganda...?
Hi serious CADninja I agree Form 1 was a crappy machine I kept it a week or 2 then returned for a form 2 , fantastic machine
Fantastic
Cartridges? NO THANK YOU, I PASS. they probably cost more than the printer.
can you easily remove the support material in SLA 3D Printers? not specific on one brand but with different brand or manufacturer?
can u figure out how to make 3d printed money ill buy
lmao, someone split the video in half to render it faster but forgot to color correct/adjust brightness.
This kind of printer REALLY reminds me of the Small Soldiers movie.
Fun fact: the Elegoo Mars, another resin SLA printer is available on Amazon for $280. The future is now.
it's not SLA - it's DLP :-) ... DLP is cheaper, but quality is slightly lower (still very good) than laser based printing. You can see layers on DLP printed objects, because LCD displays has some pixel resolution, and this resolution is limiting print quality.

Bro where can I buy this printer?? Please!
It is completely outdated
There's the Elegoo Mars on Amazon for $280. According to the reviews, it has amazing print quality, but the print size is pretty limited.

I know a guy who had to send back his Form 1 printer 3 or 4 times because it kept on breaking. I will stick to FDM printers for now, I'm very happy with mine, you can always sand down to the layers.
+ArcadeGames I have 2 lulzbots, a Cube Pro Duo and a Form 2. The Form 2 is much more capable than all the others.
I had a form 1 had loads of trouble with it after 2 weeks I exchanged it for a form 2 after 2 years not a single problem
i expected less for the price
oh never mind i just realise the actual price
+LORD ANOOS (Andika) how much is it??
+alberto meza $35,000
+LORD ANOOS (Andika) 3,500$ he said. .. not 35,000$ lol that's a dam car
+thatonebeone $3,500 is cheap for this kind of tech. Think about it...
Dont support a cartridge system dont buy it
no future for SLA 3d printers (small print area & too much care... cleaning and so on... Not real desktop & portable 3d printer)
it's too expensive for hobby enthusiast...
(just forget print parts for Quadcopters or Toys....material poor quality not strong)
soooo good luck... SLA users...
Wish I could afford one of these
It print plastic.
Expensive; I will wait for HP to complete their printer or until someone come out with one that cost 500 dollars like some other companies are doing. It is not hard to build this yourself and just use some resin from some company that makes these things.
Supply & Demand
Also, just because someone can just "build one themselves," doesn't mean it's price should be lowered. lol. Technically, that terrible argument can be applied to anything sold in the market. haha.
War Machine Didn't state they should lower their price. I just stated I am cheap. So like I stated before I am looking for a lower priced one. That does not cost a down payment on a house. A very cheap house though; Indeed.
sweet, how many sla printers have you built?
35 not bad
any difference with carbon 3d printer?
Yes, this costs $3,500 while the Carbon M1 costs $60,000/yr with lots of additional fees.
KOOL.
its very very slow
Hello CNET, can y use your video for non commercial serious game ? I work in fablab in France.
What do you use to clean your build platform?
And also, what is the best method for removing the material?
Isopropyl alcohol
@@PinkObsession08 You mean getting it off the platform? it just lifts off
can you print a roll of plastic sheeting?
They really shouldn't call this a "3d printer" it's more a laser sintered resin printer.
A resin printer is a 3d printer.
Aam Freeman that's a bit of a dumb statement
expensive, but cool
Yeah pricey.. but you get what you pay for.. I wish it was under 1,500$. I'm sure over time it will lower the price..
+thatonebeone You could make one around that price
