Me gusta.

Saw Calleja perform this at Last Night of the Proms 2012 (satellite to a movie theatre) and it was unbelievable. But yes this music video is not great.
You apparently have no idea who this guy is... Watch his performance at the Royal Albert hall. 3 minutes of nonstop applaus and his miastro had to go get him as he retired backstage because the audience wouldn't stop calling his name. This guy makes the big Luciano sound like a screeming baby on a frosty Monday morning.
Wow. You really are addled. Callejo is wonderful, but so is Pavarotti, Domingo, Lanza, etc. To put one down to raise up another is a sign of your immaturity. All have wonderful talent in different ways. You are commenting just to bait people. You would normally be classified as a "Troll."

This man has a special gift. His roundness.....a touch of sweetness.....honestly, it reminds me a little bit of Gigli! And like Gigli, he is DELICATE!!!!!! So very important.......not to throw ANY phrase away!!!!!!! The thing that kills me is that his recent recording of this isnt as good. I still like it but his voice isnt as fresh. Not his fault........the art that taught Italian singers for hundreds of years has been lost. Caesari wrote books on it and how it was lost in the late 4O''s. But this man was given a very special voice......and when he was young, boy could he just flat out sing!!!
MY COMMENT 1 ....Estimated friends .... I CANNOT REALLY UNDERSTAND THOSE OF YOU THAT COME DOWN HARD ON THIS EXTRAORDINARY SINGER ... On my humble opinion as I HAVE musical and singing knowledge ... in the company of an expert on the subject ... we both LISTENING TO THIS AMAZING TENOR ...agreed ourselves that THIS ARTIST IS MAGNIFICENT BECAUSE OF HIS HIGHEST AND POWERFUL VOICE IN HARMONY both qualities ....
This is a good rendition of the song. Well done, now stop the nonsense of comparing him to the great Pavarotti. No one will ever be as good, that song was written for him!
Your dismissal of Pavarotti shows that you are the one who have no clue about singing, not me. If you think this guy is batter then Pavarotti, I can't have any argument with you. If you can't hear the difference yourself my talking won't help it. You should listen and compare with your own ears.
luvatune Im enjoying it, why ar you on a shitstorm atm? I know he's the best tenor alive today. He will be more famous than all "the 3 tenors" He has the best voice atm! So dont come to me and puke shit on me!
some many takes and edits for the video I can't believe the singing is any less interfered with and cut up into tiny edits......whatever happened to pure good legato singing?? come on Decca you used to be renowned for producing it properly and getting the best out your artists........... what has happened to the glorious Decca sound that was the envy of all musicians??

Yeah, lovely voice but very small and nasal, and not really good technique. He obviously have no business singing things like Calaff on stage. "Luciano sound"? you can't be serious. But at least his singing is more pleasant than of most of the charlatans today like Villazon and Kaufmann.
I'm not the only one who says that Joseph Calleja is better than Pavarotti, the whole world is saying that. Face it godfather, il grande Luciano non e` piu apprezzato.

This guy's still in his 20's and he's already better than Luciano. And it's funny you should talk about his business singing anywhere you clearly have no idea what so ever of who he is or this profession at all. To sing that last note with no difficulty what so ever takes a hell lot more than fat and a hanky in hand which is all Pavarotti had to offer.

Wonderful!!! I am so happy to have learned about Joseph. His voice truly is a special gift from God. His high notes give me chills. Bravo!!!
One of the most spectacular operatic voices of our time. Truly.
One of the finest voices of this era. Bravo.
Skutečně nádherný světový tenor- Mario , Lanza, Caruso, Pavarotti, Jose Carreras atd.Nádhera !!! Bravo !!
El mejor Turandor que he oído en mucho tiempo. Gracias Joseph.

He really nailed it!
After Pavarotti my second favorite rendition.
Positively the greatest tenor voice I've heard since Pavarotti.

The Tenor, who speech my thoughts in his voice...Great thanks Joseph Calleja.....:(Y)
His voice reminds me a lot of Jussi Björling, great tenor!
I'm glad someone said this. I think so too!
Absolutely top drawer ! Fantastic power control and quality !

Pavarotti? Nessun Dorma is not his song, he was badly produce that great aria! I don't write why, people know why, if they have a knowledge of music!

Joseph Calleja is almost the perfect tenor. Combining the bravura of Pavarotti, the elegance of Carreras and the agility of Domingo.
You need to record a duet of la vie en rose with Lady gaga. You're incredible
Why have not heard of this man??

LOL, high note at the end is probably edited, it sounds very abrupt and unnatural.

I love this aria,and he does it justice,but it's a terrible video.
