    This is very helpful. The correct size replacement racks can be very difficult to find and very expensive. They should make these racks out of stainless steel with vinyl coating.

    Have been using dishwashers for over 50 years and it wasn’t till 3 years ago when I moved into a new home that my racks started rusting. Makes me wonder why these racks are being manufactured using such poor quality materials and why aren’t people going after these manufacturers with a class action suit

    Do you have a source for bigger caps? The one that is on Amazon are too skinny for the expanded rusty tines in my rack.

    • @GanderFlight
      @GanderFlight  Год назад +1

      Hmmm, maybe grab some sandpaper and sand the rust off to get them back down to a size you can cap?

    • @YaH_Gives_Wisdom
      @YaH_Gives_Wisdom 5 месяцев назад

      If they are really rusty, I would take a side grinder and cut the rust off, leaving the prongs shorter. Then seal them as normal.

    Would this work for the rack itself not just the tips?

    • @GanderFlight
      @GanderFlight  3 года назад +2

      Yes, the paint is designed for the rack. It just also happens to be a good glue for the plastic tips :)

    Rack repair tips fall off weekly, even when sanded & glued with the white rack re-coating or heat-resistant silicone & allowed to dry (24hrs). Some of the tips have cracked & fallen off after a few weeks. I'm constantly finding repair tips in my dishwasher filter. Not a good solution.

    • @GanderFlight
      @GanderFlight  Год назад

      Bummer to hear its not working for you- Ive had good success with them on two different dishwashers. That said - sometimes they do crack or fall off - just like the original coating wore off so too do there wear out. I replace them again and move on. Only other solution I’m aware of is to buy a new rack.

      Polecam wyciągnąć kosz ze zmywarki . Lepiej i dokładniej się usuwa rdzę i maluje. Lepiej pokazać na filmiku wygląd rdzy na koszu przed renowacją i na koniec , po renowacji.

    My KitchenAid rack is rusting FROM
    BELOW!!! really pissed coz they don’t even sell the exact replacement anymore. MoFos. Fortunately I was able to get the exact rack off eBay for 1/3 the ripoff KitchenAid price (for something that isn’t even an EXACT replacement). Was wondering if I can re-solder these racks and coat with a ceramic paint?
