Most of these questions aren't even plot holes; just stuff that seems to come from a viewer that isn't paying attention while watching the show, most notably the last question: Hope was erased because she jumped in Malivore. Doesn't matter how big her part is in everyone's life: she enters Malivore, she gets erased.

The "why isn't Caroline back if they don't need to do the Merge?" one when the show made it explicitly clear that the Merge IS a problem especially threw me. Like, HUH?
@@arianak.3123 A lot of people were confused as to why the twins had to merge since they were siphoners. It was portrayed as a big problem on the show but a lot of people were confused by it.

It wasn't her spirit. It was her actually body, as it was a necromancer who brought her back to life. Just like he also brought back the people in the grave yard that attacked Hope, Penelope, and MG.

626lololol He had a busy morning and forgot to take it, cause he takes it in his coffee. That’s what they said in the episode.
@Anthony Griffin it depends on the dosage. the people they had to drain out had a lot of vervain in their system hence they needed to drain them so that it could pass more quickly (also bc they're vampires so it doesn't leave that quickly). dorian probably puts just enough vervain to not make himbe compelled my a baby vamp so dosage was probably a lot lower.
oh my fucking god. this- did u even watch the show? kai mentions that in that very episode.
before compelling kai said he forgot to take his vervain coz he was busy at the school

The biggest plot hole is, if Klaus, his siblings and father were the first vampires, they had to exist some time before creating Maliviore. That means Hope's family had to live and experience the world with creatures like dragons, zombies, etc.
They would not remember anyway. Any creature trapped in Malivore is forgotten.

@@Lolzakiyah it was not toxic at all. that's just the story they are trying to tell now that she's gone. penelope was trying to get josie to put herself first the entire time. she wanted her to stand up to lizzie and figure out her own desires and make her stronger because she knew about the merge. she cared the most for josie. now so many fans want them back together because landon is lame n gross.
Erica Peterson honestly i love Penelope and Josie together because of their amazing chemistry but they especially P was toxic as heeeeell. But so were Delena and Posie change way faster than them so the excuse doesn’t stick well with me

Wouldn't Stefanie Salvatore be a traveler? I mean, since Katherine and Nadja are and they are ancestors of Elena...
They where born 500 years in the past, i'm pretty sure after a few generations of mixed blood it just fades. Like Nadia maybe just was a half blood, than got pregnant with a human, and that child too and so on and Nadias great great grandchild was born from 2 pure blooded humans
Was Elena a traveler?
@Rex Truth yeah, but one part always was a witch, and we don't know if every generation got childs with humans, we know that Bonnie is half blood, we didn't know about her mother or grand mother.
And than, it could still pass one or a few mixed blooded generations just before it activates. It was never explained how it works, but i'm pretty sure if after 6 or 7 Generations it would pass if one part always was human.
@Rex Truth i know that they don't say half or full blood witches. But it seems somehow fitting that witchpowers or travelerpowers can disapear if there are to many humans.
Better than everyone after Nadia just didn't became one.
For example, Nadia became a "half blood" baby, that kid grows up without knowing of their powers, marries a normal human , that kid again and again. No one activates their powers, they forgot about them, and after 3 more generations, they should logically be gone. In a fantasy show you could go the "chosen one" route, but it seems morw fitting in tue Vampireverse that the powers just disapeared.
@Rex Truth Klaus didn't have them anymore, it's not about activating them, sure he can pass them on, but he lost them when he became a vampire. Bonnie didn't now she had was a witch, they came from alone. Even if nothing is mentioned, it is still possible that the human part can be stronger.
Elenas parents where involved in the supernatural stuff for more than one Generation. If they would still be active, they would have known that they are part of that bloodline. And if every memeber of that bloodline possed that power, they couldn't be compelled, Jo for example gave up her powers and was a human, still she couldn't be compelled. Same goes for Bonnie.
Not saying your entirely wrong, i guess it's somewhere between both of our opinions. Let's just say we are both part right and wrong

That’s what I was thinking from the beginning. Use that chance as a contingency plan for the one who will lose. Have both of them drink vampire blood before doing the merge so that whoever dies, would turn into a heretic. But of course, this better be the last option cause no matter how awesome it is to be almost immortal, there are still things that you can no longer do.

It's because in season 1 of legacies they celebrated their 16th birthday so it made them 14 year olds in the originals last season

The third plot hole question is exactly what I’ve been asking, since Josie and Lizzie are both siphoners then how can they do the merge since neither of them is a full born witch; when Kai did the merge with his younger brother Luke, he was a siphoner and Luke was a full born witch, so I guess what I’m saying is is it possible for two twin siphoners to do the merge?
To add to that, another point I’ve been making is whether Caroline might be or should be searching for Valerie Tulle (TVD season 7) since she used to be a siphoner before she became a vampire-witch Heretic because she might have some information that could help her and Alaric with solving the merge for Josie and Lizzie.
She explained that duel between siphoners would be based on question who could siphon more power BEFORE the merge.

marcus24000 I mean. You’re right in a way. At least that’s what I’m thinking. Also if neither of them Siphon any magic beforehand. No Merge. The Merge can only happen if two people use magic.
They are "full born" witches just their magic works differently
Is it a rule of thumb that all siphoners are just the same when it comes to their syphoning ability, personally I don't think so, they definitely have to vary to some extent upon which the result of the merge lies

I searched up plot holes for the series when it first came out because I didn’t understand how the twins aged to be in the same grade as Hope when they were much younger than her when they siphoned the hollow in 05x12 of the originals. Dunno if that was actually a plot hole or if I just missed something.
BarelyLia I think the twins are around 1-2 years younger than Hope. Also I think Julie just wanted it that way?. I’m not sure to be honest
i mean hope did stop going to school for awhile in the originals so maybe she had to repeat a grade.....or maybe they are placed in different grades based on abilities instead of age

I think the erasal of Hope is similar to how erase by a vampire compulsion does: your mind fills in gaps with new storyline based on the changed information and makes you not question your past all that much.
Like with Elena when she had Alaric change her memory of Damon with details tweaked here and there.
Like no one questioning how the school got cash despite history no longer telling it basically was Klaus wanting his daughter to have home & school she could be safe in.
Prob now it was just the Klaroline burning bright.

The Malivore part I think worked pretty much like when Elena got compelled away the Delena lovestory: the mind changed memories to fit new data so some things still stayed enough the same.

OK not a fan of legacies cause I don't think it does justice to tvd (stylistically, the writing, the vibe - just doesn't feel related to tvd at all or like it's trying to do justice everything tvd brought to the table). siimplymya that's exactly my thoughts. aren't the rest of the original family just hella confushed? i mean klaus killed himself for hope and elijah killed himself for klaus. if they can not remember hope then how does that family even remember that happening?? how in their minds do they think it happened? klaus was magnificent, he wasnt just going to be dead, just like that, the originals are going to figure it out.
Also, they showed the other side clip of Hayley and how she'd always be watching out for Hope etc. Does the other side remember Hope??
basically josie met freya to find out what she knew about hope and freya told her they have pictures all around the house of hope but she cant remember who she is
