Official data on fuel consumption, CO2 emissions power consumption and electric range were determined inaccordance with the mandatory measurement procedure and comply with Regulation (EU) 715/2007 valid at the time of type approval. In case of a range, figures in the NEDC take into account differences in the selected wheel and tire size; figures in the WLTP take into account any optional equipment.
WLTP values are used for assessing taxes and other vehicle-related charges that are (also) based on CO2 emissions, as well as for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies, if applicable. Where applicable, the NEDC values listed were calculated based on the new WLTP measurement procedure and then converted back to the NEDC measurement procedure for comparability reasons. I miss the Chris Brow guy. The one who showed us the last good looking 5 and 7 Series.
For me the problem with the design is the increased height of the car. Previous models were looking much more low profile giving a more elegant and sinister look. Possibly this version was designed for the electric version in mind first and then petrol & hybrid versions were derived. They tried to slim down the profile by adding black strips at the bottom but still not working for me.
Agreed, its too tall. Got a BMW GT vibe to it which is not a compliment...

They managed to do the impossible: ruin the 5 series. Such a disjointed and lazy interior design and inelegant exterior design either with heaps of black plastic or silvery nonsense and disproportionate kidneys that grow onto the hood. The G30 was one of the last good looking cars. I don't ever see myself buying a G60. I'll have to get an A6.
Check the Mercedes E-class. It’s the better BMW now. Even coming with R6 petrol and diesel engines.

The previous G30 and the F10 generations look so much better its just a disgrace to the 5 series name just like the new 7 series...

Previous version is much much better in terms of interior and buttons with control in the steering. This is my personal opinion without looking physically and I hope I am wrong. But we'll done BMW 5 team for creating the future

Wow r u bhind the times! That was inspired by BMW's F1 program, ALSO history. So that M5 & M6 were single generation & ditto for the V8 M3 it created. BMW have already announced they are halving ICE production for 25 neu EV, why next M5 is XM V8 hybrid, like i5 part of the transition. Design chief Dukec stated BMW have 40 million followers on social media, this explains the online bashing of the co., opinions only, if only had had some KNOWLEDGE about century+ old German engineering firm before they trolled it.

Why when you can buy an original? M6 Cabriolet so you can hear V10 with top down, be prepared for maintenance & 200 mile tank range . They're a bargoon on bringatrailer, from $20-40+k. Or wait for rumoured 1,000 bhp. BEV M2 successor, who needs a V10?

Über Geschmack lässt sich streiten, nicht aber über Ästhetik. Ich finde den Wagen wunderschön. Und es ist auch immer eine Frage der Zeit bis dieser Wagen oft genug auf den Strassen zu sehen ist und die Augen sich daran gewöhnen.

Surprised that not enough people are commenting on the grille - merging the twin kidney grille into a large one's okay but the location of the sensor array is nothing but unfortunate in my book, especially the M grille. It's like spelling one's own name wrong. Doesn't help when you have a front-heavy design with simplified side profile and rear design.

It looks amazing, but it doesn't look up tp the job of replacing the current 5 series, it simplay looks not as serious and intimidating. I'd say it doesn't look like meaning as much business as the current generation. Doesn't sit right with me. Looks more like a trim fpr the 2 series.

Took a BMW 5 series out for a week what a car did 700 miles in one night did not feel fatigued the drive and comfort was absolutely brilliant definitely the best car manufacturer

The thing is this feels like it was designed primarily for the electric version first, and the petrol/diesel variants were scaled down from the electric version, which explains why this car feels so weird. Merc doing it better in terms of executive. step your game up beemer.

The PHEV 5 series might be my next car. I like my Lexus hybrid but I need more e-travel and Lexus is in no rush to provide a comparable car. I don't want an SUV.
Im a massive fan of bmw since I was 5, u guys have ruined my favourite car with an awful design, why? I have driven a total of 3 BMWs and currently the G30 bought last year and I always prefer the BMW over the Merc because of its fiery sporty design. But for this time the E Class and 5 Series to me are in a stalemate for the exterior design language. I think BMW wants the 5 series to be more like Mercedes this time, mature looking car.

I like the front grill of the 4 series 430i more than the 5 front grill. The grill of the 4 series sets it apart from all other cars on the road, unique that separates it from all others.
At least BMW gives you options...the Mercedes E Class only offers 'sport styling'...no 'luxury styling' (upright star on bonnet) for the USA.
