Thank you for watching & Merry Christmas to you all
I’m really enjoying this pattern! A video with no verbal directions scared me at first but I had no trouble following. Using the hat for a newborn photo shoot for my first grandchild! Thank you!
Ah first grandchild... So many happy and wonder-filled times ahead for you. Congratulations! Thank you for your comment. It was so nice to hear!
I have tried several times to get my ribbing to be 32 cm. I can’t get it that size with 66 rows. I also have tried different size hooks. Any suggestions?
I feel so confused right now. Im using a 4.5 with worsted and can get about half of 66 brim before reaching 32 cm. Idk how you got 66 rows but that doesnt add up
Look at the brim, you will see each rib is made by two rows.
I really tried to follow this but I couldn’t see at all where you were putting your stitches 😢
Thank you for giving it a go. You can adjust playback speed by visiting settings. Hope it helps x
What size u make in this video? Is it for newborn?
how did you get 32 stitches around? i ended up with the same number of stitches that i made the brim 66..
Look at the brim, you will see each rib is made by two rows. Once you joined your work, work one sc between those two rows. Please view @3.38 again. Hope it helps
4Seasons Handmade yes! Thank you so much!
Can you explain when I join the ribbed after making 66 rows then you say crochet 32 sc around. How is that done, is it like making sc ever other row?
Each rib is made by two rows. Work one sc between those two rows. Please view @3:38 again. Hope it helps
Would love to see this with voice over. ❤
I used to crochet as a kid. Just getting back into it. I'm a visual learner and this video really helped by not having the voice over. Sometimes the person speaking becomes distracting or hard to follow, but watching your hands and the pattern was perfect to get me back in the groove. Thank you for sharing. I'll be using this for my husband's clients during their holiday photoshoots
I have kids, they’re always around when I filming, it’s impossible to do voice record. So glad to hear it’s helpful for you. Thank you
On row 5 i keep coming up with 29 stitches not 28 I've done the row over 4 times i even counted it out on the screen 3 dc plus dc2 tog =4 dc 6 that's 10 dc2tog =11plus 6dc =17 plus 2 dctog =18 plus 6dc =24plus dc2tog=25 plus 4=29 ? Is that a misprint or am i doing something wrong ?
I just had a quick look at the pattern. You were right, it was a misprint 😩😩. R5&6, you should have 29 sts. R7&8, 25sts. R9 = 22sts.... I will edit in the description box tomorrow. Thank you for picking up my mistake.
@@4seasonshandmade798 no worries just making sure I'm not crazy lol thank you ! I do appreciate your time i. Creating this pattern and making a tutorial!
Excellent tutorial! I've did the hat and is awesome! Now I'm looking for the shoes.
Thank you for your comment. It was so nice to hear 😊
Hi! Do you have any for bigger sizes? Like for 3-12 months?
Sorry I don’t have pattern for bigger sizes
May I suggest for a bigger size use a slightly bigger hook(5.5 mm) and since the ribbing is for around the head, measure the head. Or you may google circumference sizes for 3 mos - 6 mos babies heads. Personally I found a doll approximately the size of a newborn and use it for my model. Good Luck!
@@jerrhondawhite2403 oh wow! I’d try that then. Thank you so much!
@@carlosjanevlogs9322 You’re welcome. Of course, I want to say that I’m going based on a worsted (4) weight yarn like Caron Simply Soft. Lighter yarns use smaller hooks
Great tutorial!
Thank you for taking your time to comment on my video. Much appreciated!
What does ch, sts and dc mean?
Please read the description box
Now will the 66 rounds be too big for a newborn?
It’s 32cm long once you’ve finished row 66th. The size is made for newborns. Please check the average newborn’s head circumference measurements
What size of hook are you using . Thank you
5.00mm for hat and 4.25mm for booties
Thank you !!! I'm not that great with technology . Was unfamiliar on where a description box was. But as I was writing out the pattern my finger touch the arrow thing and now I know . Appreciate your getting back to me. I did make one slipper last night . So many of my neicces and nephew are having babies. My son prefers teaching he's almost finished his PHD. Thanks again looking forward to watching more tutorials
@@michelehicks3454 You must be very proud of your son. Honestly, I don't have teaching skills. I work in health care industry. I do this for fun, it's my hobby. I am still learning how to write pattern, how to edit video...etc. I hope the tutorial was easy enough to follow and you enjoyed it.
Is eight ply yarn a number three light yarn or four worsted weight yarn
It’s #3 light yarn.
@@4seasonshandmade798 thank you for replying unfortunately I can not get my hands on red and green in number 3 yarn so I got worsted weight and I'm going to use smaller hook and wing it .
@dawn Amendola: There is not much difference if you use worsted weight yarn, just adjust your tension/stitches based on the pattern. Hope it works for you
@@4seasonshandmade798 well i already tried with 4.0 hook and it was way too big i was at 32 cm and still had about 15 rows (2 rows) to go so I dropped down to 3.5 hook and I got it ... I just finished the brim and two rows of red ,?the pattern is curving (the red ) upward ... is this suppose to happen looking at it in the video it looks the same .
@dawn Amendola: Yes, it’s supposed to slightly curve
