Final outcome of my attempts may be inaccurate, could be off by 50 or so with editing error but I do know it's well over 1200 attempts. A bit worse for wear from my performance on this map.

The reason it took you longer than hyperspace is due to the fact that they changed multiple jumps while you were trying to beat it. Messing up your muscle memory etc.

I would say Desert Ruins is harder since it is hard to navigate the way. Moreover, the map is almost covered in dark brown fog, which make it even harder to see
