I am so unbelievably good at woodworking and metal work that I bought my rifle used! A .54 cal. Connecticut Arms Hawken to be exact. It was like that in the army too. They sent me to radio school and at the end of eight weeks, I was so good at morse code and radio operations in general that they made me a cook and sent me to the infantry in Viet Nam! Good job.
Thoroughly enjoyed this display of talent and craftsmanship. The fact that you forged the iron furniture for the rifle is commendable. The good bluegrass for background made it even more enjoyable. Thanks for sharing this example of your gun making!
Many thanks for this fascinating video. It is great to see traditional craftsmanship, in particular someone using a hacksaw and a file rather than an angle grinder and a belt sander! Regards, Gordon, England.....
I feel like I was born 160 yrs too late. More quality workmanship in This rifle than all my expensive (Very) modern rifles. Want to Trade a couple for that one??

You cut the dovetails into the barrel by hand! And did everything else by hand. Very nice to watch. You have a great skill set.
