@ Bob Moore, indeed this is an awesome song, one of my favorites of the group. The drummer's brief solo/transition gives me goosebumps every time I listen...
Heard this on the radio the other day after not hearing it for many years. What a gem of a song and so much fun to sing along with so here I am learning the words to make that a full experience. Bee Gees are one of those bands that get better with each year in my heart and mind.
Damn. The Bee Gees might be some of the most under-rated song writers of all time. These guys know how to blend melody, lyrics, and harmony. Their songs are not formulaic. They have curves, hills and valleys. Love this track. Thanks for the lyrics.
Im 44 and adore the Bee Gees, thanks to my dad. Musical and lyrical genius's. Have written for the best vocalists over decades. Not enough recognition!!
Too much perfection in three men!! I've loved them since the 70"s and now it's 2020, and they never old. I need my daily dose of their music, and they have literally been the soundtrack of my life. God showed us par excellence in music when He gave us the Bee Gees. Kids today can learn from them!! BEE GEES FOREVER!!!
"No man on earth can stand between my love and I. And no matter how you hurt me I will love you till I die." Whew! Those are some powerful words to say about a loved one. Honestly I have never said them myself. When I do I'll give the BeeGees all the credit.
I was 8 years old, when I heard The Bee Gees .I think that they are the greatest of all the time.Andy,Robin and Maurice are unforgettable ,RIP and hope Berry lives more years
My favorite Bee Gees song of all. The lyrics... "Backwards and forwards with my heart hanging out. I love no other way..." Oh, to love someone (worthy) like that would be a dream come true (and of course get the same back).
This was the last of their six consecutive #1 singles, and for my money, it's the best record of any of them. It's not iconic like "Staying Alive" or explosive like "Tragedy", just a great vocal performance with instrumentation that's nothing more and nothing less than a solid accompaniment.
That drum break at 2:42 is so cool. It comes out of it with the lyric "you are the reason for my laughter and my sorrow, blow out the candle I will burn again tomorrow" I've blown out some nice speakers with this track cause I just can't get it loud enough
Amy Scott When Barry sings "No man could love you more, that's what I'm cryin for, you can't change the way I feel ins----ied" with that incredibly long high note and the drums hit it's like the rest of the world pauses for a second.
This song was #1 in the USA when I graduated from High School! Lincoln High....1979.....Lincoln, Nebraska!! Disco ruled! So did the Bee Gees!!! Great tune!!!!
I love the hell out of this song I think they were a great singing group for years, so sad Barry is alone now three of them are gone now wow they gave us great music over the years thank you guys.
Barry you are by far one of the best performers I ever heard. I wish you the best keep andy, maurice, and robin memories alive keep singing for them. I love you barry!
What a phenomenon the Bee Gees were. After their powerhouse period of the mid 1970's they just seemed to get even better, with the Spirits Having Flown album. In particular this song, which while a number 1 hit in 1979, may be their most underrated song.
I heard the tail end of this song while shopping I recognized Barry's voice and the harmonies immediately I couldn't remember it when I got home drove me nuts because I've always loved this song probably my favorite Bee Bee's song but as soon as I relaxed and stopped trying to force a memory it came right to me. This was a fun time with a fun group to bad this generation doesn't have a clue of what a true love story is supposed to sound like
My beautiful son played me this song. It means the world to me every word. I was so lost, broken and love won me back from a very dark place. It's beautiful, my heart bleeds when I listen to this
OMG! I haven't heard this song in like forever! It was one of my favorites in 79'. This brings me back to a wonderful time in my life. Thanks so much for sharing it!
Out of all their music, this is such a lovely song. How can you mend a broken heart is my favorite, this song, most definitely second. So sad they're never going to sing together again. When Barry passes? They'll be singing in heaven, voices of angels.😇 Too bad they don't make music like this anymore. Those days were the best in musical history!!
This is a superbly crafted song. Great lyrics, soaring harmonies. Dancing tune. Many musical goodies instrumentally in this one. Great drumming driving the beat and the stutter. Even if one does not understand English, they can love this tune and dance to it.
perfectly talented. Tremendous lyrics & stupendous voices. if only they were still making songs like this. & great dance music !!! Thank you Bee Gees for what you gave us !!!.
What a great soulful, mellow, funky groove. Superb arrangement guys. These 2015 kids can't stop listening to it. They don't believe it was recorded in what, 80-81?
This lyrics is like a short story and can be made a movie.. so great and deep.. i wonder how those guys did write such a beautiful lyrics..actually most of their songs have something special.. Bee Gees are the best musical group in last century .. music, lyrics, sounds, vocals,,,. they are amazing .. Barry is a real genius !! RIP Robin, Maurice .. and Andy..
I love English white groups better that the Americans, there seem to be something more, don't know what it is, groups like Beatles ,B Gees, Spadau Ballae, Thompson Twins, Procol Harem, The Animals,Freddie Murcury 's group etc. other than these, the American R&B Groups takes the cake for me,and special mention for Bob Marley and the Wailers too,
It does me, too, Grace. Often I wonder if these songwriters have really experienced their own lyrics and how they could write these beautiful songs if they haven't.
You're the reason for my laughter and my sorrow Blow out the candle I will burn again tomorrow No man on earth can stand Between my love and I And no matter how you hurt me I will love you till I die.
The song blends perfect melodies and harmonies but the lyrics Tell in such a precise manner The longing and heartache he Feels for this woman So strong that in spite Of her infidelities he Still loves her and will Not let go
"You're the reason for my laughter and my sorrow, Blow out the candle I will burn again tomorrow No man on earth can stand Between my love and I And no matter how you hurt me I will love you till I die" Thats really hurt!
Absolutely One of the few I love these men bring me to tears ,the expression they’re love I wish a man could sing to me like this or feel this way♥️Forever love the BeeGees 🏆🎤
Who comes up with this. Masterpiece! Only the Bee Gees.
Turn the volume up and listen to the production of this song. It's a masterpiece.

This song doesn't get enough recognition..
It's okay, because f it's well recognized it will be less interesting to hear. This just the sign of greatness of Bee Gees!
It was a huge hit in 1979 you just rarely hear it enough now.
IT did back in the day
Jan Mejares They never sang after 1979.Never live
this song went to number one in US in 1979.
" I love no other way" that is one of the most powerful lyrics ever written. Very few could love like that.
👏🏽👏🏽💯📣🙌🏽🙌🏽👊🏽
Agreed! It's quite the statement. Brilliant in its simplicity as well, and leaves no doubt.
I wish there was a time machine and could go back to that era, absolutely love these guys!!! Bee Gees, Andy for ever!!!
Damn.
The Bee Gees might be some of the most under-rated song writers of all time.
These guys know how to blend melody, lyrics, and harmony.
Their songs are not formulaic.
They have curves, hills and valleys.
Love this track.
Thanks for the lyrics.

Some men can still express these feelings without caring how others perceive them. Perfect lyrics sung perfectly.
What an incredible creativity we missed so bad nowadays ….what a bad times we are in .
My favorite Bee Gees song of all. The lyrics... "Backwards and forwards with my heart hanging out. I love no other way..." Oh, to love someone (worthy) like that would be a dream come true (and of course get the same back).

All I can say is 'these lyrics!!!' what a love song and what an amazing band!!
This was the last of their six consecutive #1 singles, and for my money, it's the best record of any of them. It's not iconic like "Staying Alive" or explosive like "Tragedy", just a great vocal performance with instrumentation that's nothing more and nothing less than a solid accompaniment.
FUE LP NO ME ACUERDO QUE OTRAS CANCIONES VENIAN
The very best tune they ever recorded!
Bill Brimmer very true!!! I actually prefer this over some of their more popular ones like “Stayin’ Alive”.
Agree as well. I love so many Bee Gees songs but this one is just so absolutely perfect.
This is my most favorite song of the Bee Gees!
Indeed it is!👍👍
That drum break at 2:42 is so cool. It comes out of it with the lyric "you are the reason for my laughter and my sorrow, blow out the candle I will burn again tomorrow" I've blown out some nice speakers with this track cause I just can't get it loud enough
douglas787 That particulate bit always just rips my heart out. So much emotion!
Amy Scott When Barry sings "No man could love you more, that's what I'm cryin for, you can't change the way I feel ins----ied" with that incredibly long high note and the drums hit it's like the rest of the world pauses for a second.

What a phenomenon the Bee Gees were. After their powerhouse period of the mid 1970's they just seemed to get even better, with the Spirits Having Flown album. In particular this song, which while a number 1 hit in 1979, may be their most underrated song.
these lyrics and tune should be written in the hall of fame. !! There The G.o.a.T.
This song reminds me of the girl who broke my heart at 16...still think of her to this day.

This video is bittersweet.
The loss of Robin, Maurice and the loss of the twin towers in the background.

Cette chanson sera toujours dans mon top 5. Quelle belle synergie entre les frères Gibb. 🎩
I don't see how you could dislike this:/
+Glen Hendrix I would've disliked this too because of the picture that they put :/ It's not even beegees
+Laine DG Yeah the pic sucks!
I know right! I understand the tribute thingy but it's just disrespectful that they've put it over a beegees song
The TRUE KINGS OF POP!
This song takes me back to when I was 16,it reminds me of my 1st love, who sadly didn't love me the same way.

+Richard Warren 1979. They had 3 #1 hits that year, and this one of them. So funky, such a great chorus.
No doubt!
In the day, I hated disco and so I ignored the Bee Gees , but this song is so beautiful and well written . I really like it.

1979 was a great year for music! The year of my high school graduation. Lives forever in my mind and heart!
Some of the most powerful lyrics in music history came from the Gibbs. ❤❤❤
this song hits me in my stomach it's so true
It does me, too, Grace. Often I wonder if these songwriters have really experienced their own lyrics and how they could write these beautiful songs if they haven't.
Absolutely, the TRUTH.
You're the reason for my laughter and my sorrow
Blow out the candle I will burn again tomorrow
No man on earth can stand
Between my love and I
And no matter how you hurt me
I will love you till I die.
The song blends perfect melodies and harmonies but the lyrics
Tell in such a precise manner
The longing and heartache he
Feels for this woman
So strong that in spite
Of her infidelities he
Still loves her and will
Not let go
Si los bee gees solo hubieran hecho esta canción fueran millonarios...el sonido de esta canción esta fuera de serie ...
