[Nostalgia 2010] FF14 (Alpha) - Movement during casting, change equip mid battle comparison to FF11

    I was asked if you could change equipment mid-battle like the macros of olde in FFXI. Alpha tests ended.

    The movement in this game feels far more fluid. It’s a shame the animations were taken from the game both combat, walking, even the death ones.

      That's right. It was one of the things I easily missed when 1.0 was scrapped to become ARR a year later. While running, if you turn, your character leans diagonally in respect of you turning. Bloom lighting was kinda blinding when leaving caves or buildings and entering outside in moonlight or sunlight. The 1.0 game had intense prop models too, which.. while it sounds amazing.. it made performance awful on many PC's and would not work on the PS3 for ARR's release. Had no choice but to scrap them. I'm referring to this one Plant in a large pot. Apparently it had more polygons than your character and half the city of La Noscea lol. Should still be seen somewhere in google. You can see the bootleg version of the plant in today's Gridania Inn.

      @@supa567 No. That is all I managed to salvage from Alpha. Everything else I have is from Beta, where Mi'qote finally became playable. They were unavailable during Alpha. I ran Humes and Mi'qotes in beta, only.

      @@Phir Ah, I see. That is unfortunate. But I am still thankful with what you had to share. I wonder if private servers are even possible… What do you think?
