It's good to hear James' side of the Route Irish ambush story. People saying he was a coward for rightfully bailing out of the car and taking cover in a ditch don't know what the hell they're talking about. That car was being chewed up by machine gun fire. If he hadn't bailed out he would most likely be dead. There's a really good analysis on RUclips I've seen of the ambush where the presenter states that even though James' car stalled because he dumped the clutch they couldn't have gone anywhere anyways because the Army had shut the road down ahead because of the IED James spoke about in this interview. In that same analysis the presenter stated that what actually got them in trouble was that the team leader had stopped their convoy and stayed in one location giving the insurgents time to set up the ambush. Unfortunately that team leader's decision cost the lives of 3 men.
It's great to find here Yeager's side of the Iraqi Ambush. In the infamous video their was only a short clip of the action on that day. The men involved where suddenly enveloped in a firestorm and to judge James for all that happened seems base and dishonorable. Thanks JC for a great interview and giving James his say.
