Improve Your Golf Swing Instantly With This Simple Drill

The takeaway and backswing are the most important part of the golf swing. This golf drill will improve your takeaway and help you hit crips straight golf shots.
John Daly can bomb the driver but his success can also be attributed to his soft hands and silky smooth swing. When John actually makes it to the range on time before a match he will inevitably be seen hitting these one handed chip shots to get his rhythm for the golf course. As Daly says in the video this one handed left hand golf drill will force you to take a proper backswing and follow through. If you don't you won't be able to control the club because you only have one hand on the club. The weight of the club and gravity has to be managed with only one hand and it is not easy. You will naturally work towards finding a way to swing the golf club in a way to subconsciously manage the forces of gravity and momentum. It leads to a more natural backswing.
Tiger Woods, arguably the best golfer ever also uses this drill to help him gain feel around the greens. Tiger can often be seen chipping with just his left (lead) hand and chipping with his right hand only. I personally chip all the time with my right hand and, as John Daly says, it just forces you to use the perfect backswing or you will miss the ball.
