INXS came to stay at a hotel where I worked in the 1990's and I have to say Michael Hutchence was one of the nicest guests that I met, certainly the nicest celebrity. He was polite, down to earth, and didn't act like a star at all. I'm sorry he's gone.
Lucky bastard. Wish i coulda met him.
What a lucky ❤️
Could you say when and where? Just curious.
Lucky you met him
Great guy. He was humble and gracious. He's also very likely the best looking man I've ever seen. I'm hetero to the core, nobody loves women more than me, but when I first saw him in Detroit in tiny St Andrew's Hall he actually took my breath away. Needless to say the women went completely crazy. Some of the most beautiful women I've ever seen lost their minds over him. Unbelievable!
What a song, what a band, what a singer. INXS had everything
There were three groups during the time…U2, INXS, Depeche Mode…that’s it! We were the lucky ones…musicians who knew how to play an instrument, have a voice, not the studio created with a synthesizer etc…
Yes indeed.
@Враги Music stopped with Michael’s death. Some of us were too old (what?) for grunge.

Go to Hell all of you in 2024 pathetic
I just wanted to say I was born in 1995. I missed all of this. The vibe the era, but I have such an affinity for it. I'm a 27 year old guy in 2023 and INXS is my favorite band.
Then you're a guy with excellent taste
I was alive back then, but it’s only more recently that the sheer in your face talent and charisma of this lot has smacked me in the face. Nostalgia? I think not. Doesn’t matter when you were born or when you discover it as long as you find the source eventually!
I'm 63 and still like them. Go listen/watch Talking Heads Stop Making Sense, original version.
I'm 47 and Love INXS!!Brings back so many great memories, from on the radio too the Videos on MTV when it was Huge in the 90's,Yes my friend it was an Amazing time too be a part of and live it, Musically NOW NOTHING that Comes out is Much Good!! It's Sad for Real!! Michael is such a Gift,Thank You Sir
Never Tear us Apart is one of my top 10 EASILY.
It's now 2024, and still one of the best songs ever! Who else is listening in 2024?
Oh yeah... CorV19 has nothing on INXS
Your Mom and I are listening to it now...

Amen, Brother!!! ♥️⚘💥
Ye man
I love Jon Farris' drumming on this. Tight and punchy, just drives the beat forward.
Same. It’s right up front in the mix
Mike Hutchence got some soul and kicking it hard in this song? RIP Mike!
This should have WAY more views…
Even my very religious boomer mother loves INXS. How can you not like these guys?
You can be religious and like secular music…
This song came out in 1987. Your boomer mother was in her 30s back then
I'm Christian and LOVE INXS. Nothing wrong with that. God loves them too, don't forget.
Do you call her that? lol
@sportsmedia25 I was 11 and mom was 31
I've been in love with Michael and inxs since 1987 when I first heard Need You Tonight. When I heard the terrible news that Michael had passed I was devastated 💔
However I saw INXS in December 1990 at Birmingham NEC...one of the most wonderful times of my life. I cried the whole way through 😢
I didn't know but I was pregnant with my 32yr old daughter at the time and she loves the band too❤.
Love you forever Michael xxx
Such a fantastic band. So underrated. 2:21 Sick rhythm section! Their songs really stand the test of time, especially this one.
I think he was one of the sexiest singers ever
He was beautiful 😻
Agreed but I think he was bisexual. When he says cry baby cry...sigh...🥰❤️🔥
Out of all the gorgeous, long haired rock singers out there back then, Marvelous Michael pulverized them all!!! With that swagger, that sexy curly hair, and that beautiful, beguiling face of his, No one will ever be able to light a candle next to him ever. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, he had a very rare voice that is given only to very rare humans on very, very rare occasions. I just wanted to tell Michael thanks for being Michael!***** I still love you and your music still to this day and until my time is up. "Michael Hutchinson " just like MARILYN MONROE, your candle burned out long before your legend ever did! Love and miss you, Ms.D.
He did have a monster of a voice this video doesn’t know justice listen to the live version and he just belts it
Its 4 a.m December 11, 2022!!!! You guessed it!!! Im jamming to INXS!!!!
This song always seems to give me a massive boost of energy and puts a smile on my face. I love it! One of their very best!
Wish He was still With us. Too much Talent Gone. Dam !!#
this song is impossible to interpret other than super positive energy.

It's better if you snort a few lines of booger sugar while it plays.

When i listen to this song, so do my neighbors!
The only way to play music!
Still sounds fresh and new, over 30 years later. Great music really is timeless.
One of THE Most Classic Guitar Riffs of all times! An Absolutely Contagious song.
It´s not possible to listen to this tune and not agree that INXS is Rock n´ Roll Hall of Fame material. Magic!

+penfold167 He looks as good in a suit as Dennis Miller!
OMG - INXS was at the TOP of their game with this album! Such a great period of time to be alive……!!!!!
35 years after its release and this song STILL sounds terrific.
And that’s not nostalgia talking, I thought it was brilliant on release and I still feel that way….can’t say the same about a lot of other music at the time.
What’s even more impressive is that there’s barely any deviation from the jangly guitar riff throughout, and it’s still managed to stand the test of time and sound fresh.
Amen
Music is the only time machine we have.
@@DvLnDsGyZ I like that.

I feel very fortunate to be a child of the 80's and the 90's. I got to experience when music was at its best and at it's peak.
Sweetheart you missed disco in the 70's. The 70's 80's and the 90's were the best.
@@zulaikagould9230 70s disco was hot garbage 🗑
70s/80s undoubtably the best. Went down quickly in the 90s when bands like Dave Matthew’s were the most popular.
@@Teddykgb0101 A few remnants early 90's, U2 album, George Michael of course INXS but late 90's was boys bands, B. Spears, Ricky Martin. So INXS last album not able to well compete against that trend. Music bus. has never come back totally since.
Well music reflects it's environment so yeah it's total crap now compared to 20 years ago.
loved INXS, Michael Hutchence was a true rock star. I regret never seeing them in concert. RIP Michael your fans will always love you.
Me too! About never seeing them in concert- i was in high school in their heyday and i’ve come to appreciate them more now than even then- they have come to be one of my fav bands ever

His voice was amazing. Love the tone and delivery. Dammit, we needed more from this guy.
I love this energy.
Inxs rocks, music videos of the kick album are brilliant. 35 years later and still sounds amazing.
I got an Even better story of Michael Hutchence. Only about 4 Other People outside of Michael, Ollie Olsen, ( his Friend & Producer? at the Time) His Girlfriend and Some Industry Insiders Know of. Michael was In New York doing an Album under a Pseudonym Called "MaxQ" (it was a Solo Album and They didn't want the Fans to Think INXS was or Had Broken Up). Anyways, We Met Michael through his Friend Ollie (well My boy did while hanging out there and Call me To Come up) while the Album was Being done ( Part of It at Least) at the Hit Factory in Manhattan, the Other half in LA. Ollie will Remember this, because at the Time, Rap Music wasn't a thing in Australia, and Ollie and Michael were fascinated by the Music. My boy and I being of Hip-Hop and Fans of INXS, brought Many Conversations that kept us Talking about Coming back To Australia and Doing Rap Music There (My boy Could Spit, Me, a Little but I had the Gift of Gabb). My Boy and I used to Hangout there, with a Friend of ours that Was The Receptionist at the Time (but she did everything like Booking studio time, Mailing out Masters getting Meals sent to The Studio for the Guess).
Talking about Michael being a Cool Dude and Not at All Hollywood (He Was a Wild Character no doubt) but Very Friendly to the Point of Letting 4 Black Young Kids (from Philly)Hang Out with Him, in his Central Park Hotel, To Going to a Def Jam Album Release Show/Party, featuring "de la soul" and I Forget who Else was There ( We were so Caught up in the Moment meeting all kinds of People). I remember Russell Simmons looking at Us as We All came In and Was Escorted to a Roped Off Section of the balcony, that was Reserved for Micheal and his Party. Russell Simmons looked so Confused as To Who this White Guy (Wearing one of His Wifes Dress as a Kilt) a Tall Blonde (I remember it was Paula but I could be Wrong, so long ago).
Man how We would Goof off walking.... WALKING Down Broadway (No Security) Being As Overly Animated ( My Boy and I), Acting Like Security in the Most Hilarious Ways, While People Paid Us Mind,, And Didn't at the Same time. It Was Awesome...... Michael Goofing Off With Us and Nothing But Good Fun. No I'm a SUPERSTAR..... A ROCK STAR. No, Just One Great Person I could Call a Friend. Man It Broke My Heart to Find Out About his Passing. Still Chokes me Up writing this Now. But I Can Say..... I'll Never Forget Him for Sharing Time with a Couple of Black Young Men from Philly. Both Music Lovers, and Skin Color wasn't Ever thought.
I could Write More.... Like The First time we Came To His Hotel and The Main Desk was Like..... Ummmm, You guys Are Here To see Who???
They had that funk base, which never dies. The funk lives forever.
These guys had everything - talent, originality, showmanship - it's just a tragedy that Michael fell into such a dark place and couldn't escape.
Yup unfortunately it tends to happen to people with enormous talent, they can't turn it off. Think Brian Wilson of the Beach boys. Tremendous talent but fought inner demons.
You do realize he didn't actually mean to kill himself, right?
The coroner s report concluded suicide. @@shortbusdriver83

In the late eighties, woo hoo!! The band that was playing at the black Angus, my friend and I invited them them back to our apartment to party!!😂😂😂
Powerful vocal dynamics loved them from the beginning and still bangin them today.

R.i.p Michael he was a talented singer gone too young!
He was amazing. As a front man for a band, there was no better.
That guitar riff is so freaking mind boggling. "thing thing thing thang thang thang thing thing thing"
it's like a positive attitude. the song goes through its changes, but the riff keeps reinforcing our happy best foot forward thing. I love it, always have.

Man I’ve been missing me some Michael Hitchence. INXS was one of the best live bands ever. They always sounded in concert just like they did on the radio. We lost a bright light in this world when we lost Hutch.

Michael was one of the greats. I can't believe he's been gone almost 26 years now.
2023 and it still sounds great today,Michael Hutchenchs voice and that guitar riff is brilliant
I am a guitarist and an ADD case. I cannot fathom how I am able to listen to this riff repeat for four straight minutes and still don't want it to stop. That clean shimmer ringing out over the driving rhythm of this just... 30 years later, it's still absolutely perfect.
This is one of those totally cool songs that will never get old.
